"counter strafing" isnt actually in Valorant at all , atleast not in the way people think
The entire idea of "counter strafing" in CSGO was that while strafing, pressing a movement key in the opposite direction would cause you to come to a stop /faster/ than you would have, had you simply let go of your strafe key.
But in Valorant this mechanic is essentially non existent. Multiple people have done the actual frame counting with precise artificial movement inputs and counting frame by frame they found that there is absolutely no discernable difference in stopping speed between 'counter strafing' and simply letting go of your movement key.
And this is the case for alot of the more intricate mechanics that are such a main staple in CS like bhopping and server tick rates.
All these mechanics in Valorant have been purposely tuned in such a way that they are relatively easy to pick up and understand for a beginner , without the slurry of arbitrary secondary movement properties that they dont outright tell you about, and would inevitably impact your performance in the longrun.
But as a concluding statement id just like to say that Yes, doing this in game does give you a very slight advantage in the fact that you are more consistently *on the move*
but it does /NOT/ give you an advantage in *stopping speed*
which is the whole reason its even called "counter strafing" at all , as you're countering the effects of strafing.
But yea, any perceived advantage in stopping speed from practicing this sort of thing is you simply gaining experience and understanding of the games actual movement mechanic timing and being rewarded for it *because* its consistent and straightforward.

Pretty good editing. You could get a buddy volunteer to join your game and just stand and record the 'enemy perspective' of what it looks like while you're executing these maneuvers. Then you could edit either half-screens or before/after to show the difference between what you should do, and what you should not do.

So i have been trying this method for the past 6 days including each day a 20minute practise on range pre competitive game and 20 minute practise before i go to sleep
So far these are my conclusions
Noted is a great player if not the greatest when it comes to movement in valorant but unfortunately there are some downsides in this strafing gameplay
Keep in mind i am ascendant 3 right now
That means that in my lobbies its either you get headshot or you headshot the enemy from an off-angle
So for the past 7 days i have been playing using this strafing guide and i had to switch into phantom because with vandal its almost guarantee that your gonna miss a lot of shots due to spread
I have won many duels from past 45m but i have lost also countless duels past 45m from enemies that literally commiting to crouch spray...someone will say (wheres the problem on that) well let me tell you something that i have figure it out...in order to execute what noted introduce in the video you have to be 1)precise on your 1st shot bullet even if its not headshot and 2) dont get hit first (excluding headshot)
If yout get tagged first on this game you are pretty much worthless
So my thoughts is that this gameplay is very usefull when it comes to fights post 45meters and of course its a good movement against operators
Using this exact movement on short-medium range fights most likely you are gonna get killed
Still noted did a great job uploading this gem and tried to make us understand the fundamentals of the game's mechanics

good insight been thinking about this too, might just return to being dirty crouchsprayer lol

    • @Aced91
      @Aced91 2 роки тому

@@millton1530 in my humble opinion, riot needs to nerf crouch/spray
      You asking how ?
I do have one possible solution ,drop down the tagging from 73% to 43% for the player that is crouching
That way ,many players will have to relearn the whole game from its roots because let's be honest, none is wanna getting randomly headshot while counter strafing ,from an enemy crouch/spray player
Its either remove the tag completely when we crouch shooting OR at least drop it down to 43% when we crouch
Valorant nowdays is becoming more and more of a joke
Last night i was in breeze i peeked mid to tower with phantom and the guy swang me and the moment he saw me he immediately crouch sprayed me ,he had a spectre i got aim punch and eventually i died
Crouch spray in this game is way more forgiving than they think
Crouch spray needs to start being useful for certain scenarios

tldw: (or in case you really didnt feel like watching the ad)
    tldr of the tldw:
Go wide and far back when peeking. its better.
shoot on all movement velocity dips.
    The long version:
You appear to be moving very fast if you Take Peeks WIDE and FAR BACK, and you are a smaller target with a larger advantage of movement and cover.
If you strafe wiggle instead of stopping, you are harder to shoot and have brief stints of perfect accuracy when your character's velocity hits 0 between strafes like a metronome, and so firing in bursts in sync to dips in player velocity on the W to the D and D to the W is the strat. None of that stop n crouch shit. The counterstrafe is like firing a correctional thruster in space. It slows your momentum faster than just letting go of the key; returning you to windows of perfect accuracy.
wide-peek is smoother, less mouse correction is needed to plant shots on counterpeekers coming around corners. Your strafe almost does the aiming for you.

I'd like to see basically this exact type of video, for several different spots, in all maps.

I clicked on this video thinking "ok another shitty copy pasted straffe guide but I'll bite", but this actually turned out to be very informative gj.

great tutorial, would love if you had a keyboard button overlay for this type of thing especially for the timing to the shooting and strafing

Awesome guide +1 sub for you. But speaking of timing, would you say you press at the same time D and left click while moving left?
I just practiced for 30 minutes at the range and yeah, sometimes it looks like I do it right but I find hard to be my own teacher in this case if you know what i mean. In games I can rewatch and understand what i did wrong, but here it's my left hand-right hand coordination i need to fix.

I’m confused by when you say walk. Sometimes when you say walk you are running and overtimes you are actually walking
