Our DRL kit does not need the factory light wiring. Our DRLs are powered using the included wire harness and electronic controller which connects easily to the battery. Our controller allows for fully automatic operation when the engine is started and off when the engine is turned off. We include everything you need in the kit to install and operate our DRLs. To have our DRLs come in and off with the key fob or when you open or close the doors (like the stock accent lights), you can now purchase our optional Courtesy Light Adapter. Our DRLs will now light up 30 feet in front of the car for a much safer approach to the vehicle at night.

To have the lights function as automatic DRLs, you must use the included wire harness, which does not allow the courtesy light function. The courtesy light can only be controlled by the OEM plug. You can power the lights and retain the original lighting sequence without the EDGE-2 wire harness by plugging the OEM plug into the DRLs. However, the DRLs will have to be turned on manually with the headlight switch on your dash. Note: Your parking lights and/or headlights will stay on with DRLs.

I just finished installing mine, and they look great. One thing I can't figure out though, the DRLs wont come on when the doors open now. What can I do to fix this??

So do I have to remove the existing electrical tape around the harnesses so I can splice them?

I just got the Ford edge base model and mine doesn't have an led. is it possible to buy your product and install it even though the hole is closed ?

Hey dan I just installed one but I saw two wires a long blue and a short gray where. Do they go so far I but the blue to the fuse adapter in the fuse box and don't know where the gray one goes I need help please

Yes, the Taurus lights are accessed the same way as the Edge. Through the wheel well. Very simple, just turn the wheel in and remove a few screws.
