A tremendous loss to the country music community. My parents took me to see the Oak Ridge Boys at the age of about 5 in 1980 (around the same time they took me to see Merle Haggard) and I still recall that show well as we had amazing seats. He will be missed.
Grew up listening to the Oak Ridge Boys and proudly do a few of their songs in my shows now. I was privileged to be able to listen to them while they were just beginning their country music success. I was 12 when "Y'all Come Back Saloon" first came out and I've been a huge fan ever since then. I was struck with sadness and "Oh NO!" when i heard that Joe had passed away. If you grew up in the 70's and 80's then you lived in a time when country music was at its very best! We had groups like Alabama, Oak Ridge Boys, The Statler Brothers. Its rare now to see country quartet's like them any more. And sadly, he passed away on my birthday. July 9 2024 Thank you Joe!! Rest in Peace

Just saw this wonderful group again last Sept. at our fairgrounds. They put on a great concert and while Joe sat while playing and singing for part of the concert, they sounded as good as they were when I saw them in my teens. So sorry to hear that he passed away. He will be sorely missed by family and friends, bandmates and fans.

Oh man......I didn't know he was the one. I remember him as a kid. He had so much energy . Little guy ,all hair and teeth 😅. I hate to hear that. My mother was a huge fan. I grew to like them as well. Everyone knew Elvira , even little kids.
