Written by Archimandrite Panteleimon in 1978 and translated into English in 1992, this text is not aimed at satisfying intellectual curiosities or inducing panic in our hearts, but in aiding us in the salvation of our souls. Archimandrite Panteleimon gathers words from Holy Scripture and the Holy Fathers and offers a clear and sober understanding of what God has graciously revealed to us. Let us understand the reasons behind the coming worldwide deception, of which we already see so much, that we may be able to stand firm and be ready to witness before our all-merciful Savior. Creation, and the light part is too difficult for me to comprehend. But thank you brother I understood the first part at least .
I had to reread some of those sections myself. It gets better as the book continues
The "Light" is understood as the wisdom and understanding given by the Holy Spirit - which is manifest as the Logos/Jesus Christ our Lord, and who is also referred to as the "Light of this world". The Holy prophets of the old testament tried to teach the tribe of kind David (the chosen flock of God - meant to lead and show the way to the rest of the world) - but their depth in sin and betrayal into idolatry prevented them from "communion" as such - and therefore failed to evangelise the world despite their witness of such great miracles!
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I've tried listening to this point a few times to get the meaning. I apologise if this explanation hasn't helped.

This is amazing stuff you got on this channel. Alot of us Catholics still revere the Saints and wisdom of the Orthodox Church
You might want to consider that the great apostasy began with the invention of Catholicism in the 9th century. I say this as someone who went down the path of the priesthood in Catholicism and then later joined a monastic religious community and Catholicism. I studied enough history and it led me out of Catholicism and into Orthodoxy.

@@TranslatedAssumption No, the apostasy begins after the Gospel is spread thoughout the whole world, which the Catholic Church played the biggest role. You studied yourself into a schismatic position in pride.

I can't help but feel he is correct.
All Christians including myself will be enduring dark times known as the tribulation. Regardless of what denomination we belong to. Roman Catholic, Eastern Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Protestant and so on. The bottom line is that we’re going to endure this tribulation. And why? Because we have sinned against God and done bad moral things to ourselves and to others. And regarding to the current pandemic, COVID-19. I believe that this pandemic is a sign of God’s wrath. No matter how virtuous we try to be, we’re still going to be tested by Satan. But he will not achieve victory at all. Because God and his son Jesus will prevail. So here’s what we shouldn’t be doing. We shouldn’t give into despair and give up. Instead we should be remaining loyal towards God. And trust him. Be faithful, it’s going to be hard time. But again, God and Jesus will intervene and prevail.
Amen. It's a clear message and warnings. Repentance of sins; unsaved people need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, hell for the unsaved people who rejected the salvation, end times message, and inspiring us to be close to Jesus
The gates of Hades will not prevail!
The Tribulation is not God's wrath. God's wrath will be upon the one's with the mark and worship Antichrist as god.
God doesn't punish The Church; this protestantism theology.
The Church has always gone through hardship/Tribulation because it builds character.
Also, let me also correct you by saying, Orthodox christianity is not a denomination like Protestanism and Roman Catholicism.

Was Jesus Orthodox?
Christ also taught that it was supposed to take place in their generation.
Things that Jesus said in the first century do not necessarily equate terms of their definition of how we have understood such things within our lifetime.
@@TranslatedAssumption So you're saying when Jesus said it would happen to their generation in their time, along with some of the fathers and 3rd century eastern scholars reaffirming this, that doesn't necessarily mean what they said it meant?
@@twaho70 A.D. was the first “End of the world,” talked about in Matt 24.
@1214gooner the word is age, kjv mistranslated aion by using the word world. Other translations (including the nkjv) fix this problem. It says the end of the age, meaning the end of the age of sin and death.
