@@andrewsearle9258 🤣 TRUTH 👍
Interesting video Jamie. You have a nice looking garage 👍.
@@NorfolknStealth Cheers 🤣👍
They ain't fashionable and not all bikes can take them but I have gone back to a Tortec Epic (ultralite) Stainless Steel rack...fits my rigid On One Inbred MTB and also my Vitus Substance VRS gravel bike, way better for a stable heavy load on the top and a couple of small panniers. I find flat bars offer more choice too- I have the same Topeak "Front Loader" and can get my tent in it with the poles, pegs etc, important to distribute the weight front to back. Drop bars start to limit you to their internal width, and the clearance to the tyres compared to a MTB is way less.... Another thing I'll do is use a drybag rucksack, get a light one and if you are running short on space on the bike, put ONLY light but bulky stuff in there- down jackets, sleeping bags, clothes etc...2-3kg is barely noticeable but frees up space on the bike to carry the heavy stuff!!
Hello, yes all good tips nice one. In summer it’s easy, lightweight, small pack size. Winter is the issue with more and bulkier heavier gear. I’ll very often begrudgingly use a small rucksack for items.
Yes the width of drop bars does limit the bag size, sometimes I’ll pack and find I can’t change gear!! 🤣🤣
I made a stabiliser for under my front bag to help with loading and keep the bag off the tyre.
Thanks for watching and commenting, really appreciated 👍🏕️🍺🚵♂️
Tried loading out my mtb for bike packing like this - ended up just shoving the lot into my backpacking pack and using that, much easier for a simpleton like me 🤣
@@tomsco7 Come winter, if I’m on my MTB I’ll load up bike and rucksack 👍🏕️
How do you manage to keep your balance?
@@tomrees4812 After the ale do you mean? 🤣
Great informative video mate 👍
Just the video I asked you about doing a few weeks back so thanks for that!👍
Got all my Topeak kit on the new bike so ready to load up & get our for some bikepacking action 🎥🎬
Looking forward to the next video.

@@AndysBikepackingCamping Glad I’m doing something right mate 🤣👍
Handy vid that mate. Im going to do some bike packing handy to know ways to load the bike as il just shuv it on and end up with a back pack.
@@danozeman26 Over plenty of trips we’ve refined the packing. Summer packing is easy, winter is a whole new challenge. I may make a vid showing summer to winter kit. Cheers mate 👍🏕️
Nice one. I like the little stool.
I bought one just like it for £5 from Decathlon. Really comfortable and sturdy. I'm not there enough to know if it's a recurring deal though.
@@man.bike.camp.4409cheers
@@jonfrance7201 I don’t like to sit on the floor and you can’t guarantee a decent log to sit on. It’s isn’t the lightest or robust, but I get a good six months out of these before the material starts to fail. I think they’re about £8 so I just replace as I go along 👍🪑
@@JamiedoesWildBikepacking sounds ideal Jamie. These look a bit smaller than the fancy folding camping chairs and are a hell of a lot cheaper. Will get one.
@@jonfrance7201 The fancy ones do look comfortable, but I’m not spending that sorta money, the Go Outdoors stools are plenty good enough
Jeez thats made me feel thick as. I've always packed my tail bag off the bike then put it on, and what a ball ache that is! Nice pad btw
@@thedoginside Cheers mate, I always find, no matter how you pack your bike you can always get a few tips from seeing other people do it. I’ve watched lots of videos and collected little tips. Thanks, pool table isn’t going anywhere, the dart board didn’t come back after painting though! 🤣👍🏕️
Beer all over the floor ha. Nice seeing where all the gear goes jamie
Cheers Ron, I didn’t waste it don’t worry, picked up and poured into my pub glass! Yeah just thought I’d show where I pack it all in! 👍🤣🍺🏕️
@@ronmcdowell2200 I think I got away with it Ron, she hasn’t noticed
0:16. Whilst the cats away…. The mice will play…. 😀
@@rickh.9543 True 🤣👍
Top notch clip.
Nice one Jamie, enjoyed that. I've just got an MTB for bike packing so I've been bingeing on a few of your videos to figure out how to pack and organise the kit. Do you ever have issues with the handlebar bag rubbing on the head tube?
Thanks as always for sharing., looking forward to the next installment of the Jamie and Jason show 👍
@@barneysbimbles Hello, sometimes I get a bit of run on the head tube, oooer, but I don’t overly worry about it. 👍🤣🍺🏕️
Have you got anymore mugs & stickers left mate?
Atb Andy.
@@AndysBikepackingCamping Not many left now mate, so crazy to think I started off with 100!! Mental! So appreciative of the support for the channel 👍🍺🏕️
Jamie what was the name of the bag on the front with the valve please
@@martinoutdoors6941 It’s a Topeak front loader 👍
Isn't the fuel canister dangerous on the bottom?..in case it strikes a rock or something and punctures?
@@baronrichmond5667 Hello, never had an issue with it, it’s fairly high up and tucked behind the front wheel. 👍
How many miles do you think the bikes done so far?
@@LRLiveUK Oooh, I don’t know, a lot! 🤣I use it more than any of my bikes, its wheels are turning pretty much every weekend 👍🚵♂️
where did you get your hand torch from...with the red and white light .. thanks
@@piratepete1475 Hello it’s a Nebo torch, handy that it’s magnetic 👍🔦
@@JamiedoesWildBikepacking ok thanks for fhe reply
@@piratepete1475 👍
So how've you got a MTB group to work nice with drop bars that's what i want to know.
@@zedddddful Well, I use a Microshift drop bar lever, it’s the correct ratio to run with a MTB rear mech 👍
@@JamiedoesWildBikepacking everywhere I've looked or anyone I've asked about doing it I've just had a plain nope so I will have a look at microshift.
@@zedddddful Works a treat mate 👍
