      As a pianist it is quite offensive to hear you saying what we have is a "gift," when in reality we practice and drill for years for hours per day. Admire the effort he put in to learning this masterpiece; the hours of practice that he did.

    How I do love Evgeny Kissin’s music-making! He first performed this concerto aged 13. I am very old now, and remember hearing the recorded performance on my car radio - must’ve been in 1988, but am unsure - and carefully stopping the car to listen. Was enchanted, thrilled, mesmerised - and have loved him ever since. It’s wonderful seeing and hearing how has matured into this truly great musician.

    Starting min. 4:32, it immediately connects you to heaven, where there is nothing, but purity, decency, beauty, and peace. It immediately makes you a good human upon hearing it like magic but from somewhere far holy. Chopin, composers/musicians like him, and the genius, Evgeny Kissin here playing this masterpiece were (and are) connected to the heavens and give us the pleasure of hearing the sounds of divinity.❤🙏

    These are some of my most favourite piano classics which I used to press 'repeat' in my cd player and listen to it continuously,on holidays, forgetting that I myself had to prepare my meals.These wonderful pieces of music had soothed my souls mainly on holidays by helping me overcome the pain of leaving my family because of being employed in different cities due to a transferrable job. Being attracted to the beauty of some magnificent music and in that process of listening/enjoying it forgetting to prepare and have breakfast and lunch: you can never imagine it now because of internet, WhatsApp, mobile phone, etc. But those were the days - one or two years of late 80's , and the full 90's or some years of early 2000's. Memory is fading. Thanks.God is great as I can enjoy the same wonderful music even now. Gracias!

    I thought everyone knew that Kissin learnt the first 2 Chopin concerti at age 11, played them in concert at age 12, and then, aged 13, he played them in the concert that we can see today on video. That, of course, was also heard on radio in the late 1980s. First I was amazed at how few people seem to know all this - and then I realised how very old I am!! There are quite a few generations behind me. Kissin remains my favourite person in the music world; he is a genuinely warm, kind and loving person, which is very rare in this cruel world of music. I hope all of you have read his memoir, *Memoirs and Reflections*. A beautiful book.

    Няма по-голямо вълшебство от това да имаш инструмент в ръка и да пре-творяваш музиката която великите класици внесоха в нашия човешки свят за да ни докажат че съществува друг, по-съвършен свят от видимия. Да пре-творяваш на сцената тази музика като солист, диригент или оркестрант е нещо необяснимо, дълбоко, и неземно. Кисин е великолепен! Мета е също великолепен! И оркестъра диша с тях. Каква мистерия! Липсва ми това вълшебство в днешните трудни безоркестрови времена, когато с цигулката си не мога отново да съм част от този процес . Но запис като този ми връщат част от вълшебството. И това е лечително! Благодаря!

      Chopin and the lack of fulgariade of his work, which could be attributed to a passing passion, but no! Chopin's romanticism stems entirely from his memories of Poland and the bitterness of being a political exile.

      @Sultanetta 4 роки тому

      @Edita Ševčíková afraid i don't understand you. the criteria is not our mediocrity, it is about how we perceive them. The musicians at this level tend to have a complete different packing because their lives are meant for and by music, as opposed to "us" who love music (or less) but have more pragmatic worries. For us the music can be a simple pleasure to find harmony, or a healing to our "routine", and not all medicines work the same. As an "ignorant" amateur .. i love music but actually did not think to file them as per their school. Will pay more attention then.
