Jimmy Page plays the solo through a Leslie rotating speaker to give it that organ sound. He did the same on Good Times Bad Times. The guy knew his way around the studio!
It's the opening riff and the drums, Page creates a riff with so much attitude, and Bonzo fires in with the perfect match, IMO one of their best opening riffs from the band that perfected it
Silent woman in the night, you came Took my seed from my shaking frame Same old fire, another flame And the wheel rolls on Silent woman through the flames, you come From the deep behind the sun Seems my nightmares, have just begun Left me barely holding on With blazing eyes you see my trembling hand When we know the time has come Lose my senses, lose command Feel your healing rivers run Is it every time I fall That I think this is the one Oooh, in the darkness can you hear me call Another day has just begun Another day Silent woman, my face is changed Some know in ways to come Feel my fire needs a brand new flame And the wheels rolls on Rolls on Rolls on Rolls on, babe Rolls
I believe the 'organ solo' is actually a guitar run through an effects pedal called a 'rotovibe', which gives an effect like a Leslie cabinet which are used with Hammond organs....so in a roundabout way you're right lol!
Jimmy Page and The Black Crowes on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno around 2000. Page does the John Paul Jones part on lead guitar when performing The Wonton Song. A quality performance.
Brilliant as usual! I know how much you love Zeppelin and there's a classical composer by the name of Carl Baldassarre that breaks down the genius in the songwriting and playing. He's only done videos of about 10 songs but the insight in amazing and I reckon you'd really enjoy it : )
STB............. I have been in a bad way for a while and haven't had a chance to watch one of your vids in a while . This just helped me soo much. I wanna Thank You !
@@SoulTrainBro Thank you for everything you do ! You are definitely in a class above all the other "Reaction videos" who are just cashing in on this phenom. It is so strange . When I was like maybe 13-16 Y.O. These songs meant so ,so much to me. They still do .However back then I Felt as if I understood the lyrics & & the structures down to my bones. Just a child. I was known by all my Friends to be the biggest Zep -head on the Planet. I literally had every square inch of my bedroom covered with Zep Posters. Any Gaps were filled by pages from Kerrang & other rock Magazines back from the late 70's -early 80's . Thank you for re-igniting the fire!
Tò add to the last comment on Bonham, this song is also a great example of how Bonham uses time or space even when the beat is fast. When your timing is so good that you can space in between sixteenth notes on a single bass kick you are elite. When you play a song like this, the danger is it gets jumbled. Because it's hard to leave time that s
I agree with you 100% JB groove & soul brings this group into a higher dimension long live Led Zeppelin.. Ps Jimmy page did this song with the Black Crowes they did it pretty good to
Bonham’s right foot, it’s just incredible technique mixed with such a groove and unique feel behind the beat. He’s one of the biggest influences on my playing, but I’ll never be as good as this guy; force of nature.
I totally agree with your commentary. It is one of my favorite songs. When you talked about how it varies in tempo and feeling in one song and it is not done today. Well i have to say you need to listen to Greta Van Fleet and you will hear something familiar. This is coming from a 55 yr old man that grew up on LZ, Rush,Journey and Three Dog Night a (check them out). GVF. I feel is the most modern band that may be continuing the variety in one song that you talked about that is missing in most songs of today.
Peter Grant, Burn bridgeswith people in America Led Zeppelin never got fair treatment when it came to the critics such as Rolling Stone magazines it’s seem they were pushing Led Zeppelin success back but they couldn’t hold the door anymore Led Zeppelin came running out and took over & Never look back
Not that we need anyone to speak for him but he just did a very cool reaction to Presence and its entirety. And I believe he also did a reaction to tea for one by itself which is on his channel on either Vimeo or Patreon
God I love when people react to zeppelin!! Your reactions are really in depth...love it! Jimmy is a musical genius!
John Bonham had the rare ability to put the snare hits a bit behind the beat in a HEAVY rock setting, and that added incredible power to the groove.
Jimmy Page plays the solo through a Leslie rotating speaker to give it that organ sound. He did the same on Good Times Bad Times. The guy knew his way around the studio!
He is a musical genius!
Was a guitar solo through Leslie speakers. Gives it an organ quality.
Zep loved Motown blues and funk. Check out trampled under foot inspired by Stevie Wonder,s superstition
Led Zeppelin are, were, and always will be the Goat.
It's the opening riff and the drums, Page creates a riff with so much attitude, and Bonzo fires in with the perfect match, IMO one of their best opening riffs from the band that perfected it
Just another classic from the rock gods 🙏
Bonhams bass drum work changed my life.
Silent woman in the night, you came
Took my seed from my shaking frame
Same old fire, another flame
And the wheel rolls on
Silent woman through the flames, you come
From the deep behind the sun
Seems my nightmares, have just begun
Left me barely holding on
With blazing eyes you see my trembling hand
When we know the time has come
Lose my senses, lose command
Feel your healing rivers run
Is it every time I fall
That I think this is the one
Oooh, in the darkness can you hear me call
Another day has just begun
Another day
Silent woman, my face is changed
Some know in ways to come
Feel my fire needs a brand new flame
And the wheels rolls on
Rolls on
Rolls on
Rolls on, babe
Rolls
Thanks for the lyrics!
Wayne these guys put in the heavy work to master their trade early in their lives. By the time Graffiti came round they were masters of their trade 🙏
I believe the 'organ solo' is actually a guitar run through an effects pedal called a 'rotovibe', which gives an effect like a Leslie cabinet which are used with Hammond organs....so in a roundabout way you're right lol!
Actually the Rotovibe may not have been around at that time (more than likely not), however my mate used one when we used to cover the song lol!
You love this you’ll love Sick again
Physical Graffiti is arguably the best album ever made
You can feel Bonzos influence on this song from his love of funk and motown....a gem bro!
Luke's Wall is the part in War Pigs you're thinking of, STB. Loved the reaction! Great job 👏

Ah just another classic by Led Zeppelin..no biggie.
It’s a guitar solo that sounds like an organ FYI. All good love your channel.
Cool, thanks!
Oh snap on the first viewer ..... love your videos bro
There are great rehearsal tracks online from the recording of this album.... awesome to hear the evolution of the idea.
STB............. I have been in a bad way for a while and haven't had a chance to watch one of your vids in a while . This just helped me soo much. I wanna Thank You !
Welcome back!

Music is the great unifier!!!
Would be really cool seeing you interview them.

Ladies and gentlemen....John Henry Bonham, TOUR DE FORCE❗
Bonham’s right foot, it’s just incredible technique mixed with such a groove and unique feel behind the beat. He’s one of the biggest influences on my playing, but I’ll never be as good as this guy; force of nature.
Yes!!! Wooo hooo- theres the punch in the face😁
Another piece of excellence from Physical Graffiti album. 🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦
Thanks, STB.

Now I can see why they decided to pack it in after Bonzo passed.
Peter Grant, Burn bridgeswith people in America Led Zeppelin never got fair treatment when it came to the critics such as Rolling Stone magazines it’s seem they were pushing Led Zeppelin success back but they couldn’t hold the door anymore Led Zeppelin came running out and took over & Never look back
Yes check out the Black Crowes and Page live album. It is awesome.
This is my song. So damned sexy. There's a great cover of it by a band called Rose Windows.
Studio version ...For Your Life...
The Crunge has a James Brown feel.
So has anyone guessed what the caption for the first group picture after the song ends is...?
"Led Zeppelin... Outstanding in Their Field" 😁
Did you do a review on “Tea for One” from Presence album? Knowing you loved Since I’ve been loving you.
yes
Not that we need anyone to speak for him but he just did a very cool reaction to Presence and its entirety. And I believe he also did a reaction to tea for one by itself which is on his channel on either Vimeo or Patreon
Still no FOR YOUR LIFE from the O2 Arena 2005???
That'll break your neck,man!!!
Wayne can you re-post Achilles Last Stand pleeeeeaaase ?
