The breath and imprint and fragrance of the Holy Spirit permeates the Orthodox Church as it's the ancient Church founded by Christ and the Apostles. This cannot be said if any of the heterodox groups, Papal and Protestant, Roman and Reformed , all of which engaged in a sorrowful "correction" of Christ. Former Catholic and Jesuit seminarian here, now Orthodox Christian through God's infinite mercy.

Allen Lichner I read that Tchaikovsky considered 1812 an uninspired hack piece, and I was like “wow he must have been really depressed! That first passage In particular is the most beautiful, inspired music I’ve ever heard in my life! In fact that should be its own song!” 😒then I read that he lifted it whole from this hymn, to represent the prayers of the Russian people facing napoleon’s army. Now I’m like “yeah, Tchaikovsky, that was kinda a cheap thrill, the cannons and all” 🤨

Grant salvation to Thy people, Lord, and we pray Thee bless
    Thine inheritance, O God.
Grant vict'ry to those who fight to save our righteous faith and our dear sacred land,
and from all evil deliver them.
Then the guardian of Thy grace
    the Cross will forever be.
    The Cross will forever be,
The Cross will be, the Cross will be, the Cross
This is close to what is sung here, but not quite the same. That being said, this recording is one of my absolute favorites. Can anyone give us the words (in Slovenian and English) that the two soloist sing?
