Can I Beat Elden Ring Using Ice-Lightning but Without Any Upgrades?

- Elden Ring Challenge run using the 3 sources of ice lightning (hopefully the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC will add more) but without upgrading my weapons and seals. Ice lightning is a special damage type combing frostbite and lightning which is unique to the Dragon halberd, the Dragonscale blade and the frozen lightning spear. These weapon buffs add a substantial amount of flat damage... so how effective would those be when you cannot upgrade your weapons?

I hope we get more ice lightning stuff in the dlc, it's so good looking but just barely exists in the game and requires killing a mediocre boss with the usual bad camera of the series

I really want a Talisman that can cast sorceries, like the crystal bell (I don't remember if this is the correct name) in ds3, I'm tired of wanting to build a samurai with intelligence and having to hold a Stick to cast a sorceries, It doesn't fit very well.
@@sansinfinity7532I feel you. I have a nox cosplay build, and the sticks don't look good with their gear. And the dagger the night maidens cast with sadly doesn't drop either.

You know what the worse thing is? With Godrick, if you die or even if you quit out right after killing him before he's even remotely finished with his dying monologue, when you load back in, then demigod felled will show up anyway and you've still won. So it's not even applied consistently to begin with

In my first playthrough I kept waiting for it to happen and the further into the game I got, the more uneasy I became with every chest I opened in legacy dungeons. It was a real mindfuck.
One could say that the mimic's of this game are the trap warp chests, even if they aren't as funny.

15:50 fun fact: the reason you were getting rot buildup while on the platforms was not because of "the boss splashing it around" but a rather obscure mechanic...
If you roll while inside a pool of poison/rot, you'll get covered in it, resulting in buildup even outside said pool. the way to counter this effect is by using soap(yes, soap is an item in this game, and yes, it has an actual use... as niche at it is)
That I actually am aware of. However, I would have to look back to the actual livestream, but I don't think I was in the rot and it was still building up. I'm pretty sure the boss does in fact splash the rot around all over the platform. Could be wrong, but at least visually that certainly happens.
@@PressContinue well yes, visually, the boss does do that. though I'm pretty sure you rolled every time you got knocked into the rot... I remember, because I was screaming at my screen while watching the vod. And you didn't notice until it actually hurt you.
PvP mentioned... the halberd is stupid strong at low level. Not bad at mid or high levels but its a very common twink weapon

A couple things I really want in the dlc are Radagon’s area denial spear attack and Morgott’s conjured weapons. This dlc looks to be very incantation focused, so finding those would be really cool for faith builds.
Learning that you had not played at all since this run just makes that Malenia fight much more insane
The Dragonkin were created by the Nox who worshipped the stars and were imprisoned underground beneath a false night sky. I'm pretty sure the frostbite is meant to represent their connection to the cold night and life away from the sun.

1:06 Add more frost spells/weapons and Frozen Lightning weapons/spells. My favorite spell type and I love the big floppy hat that comes with it. A different variety of Glintstone Icecraig would be wonderful, as the og is much slower compared to the Glintstone Sorceries. Perhaps a Glintstone Iceshard as a faster traveling but less damage dealing spell.

I hope the dlc gives us more spells from the underpopulated spell categories and bit more sleep stuff (spells, aow, spirit summon, etc...). And some more perfumer options, while we are at it!

"Gezellig" would be a very clear example of a word that has no true equivalent in English. The closest is the word "cozy" but that only applies to how gezellig is used in specific contexts. It usually refers to a pleasant social atmosphere

The comment on what people are doing to prepare for the DLC, buildwise, is funny to me because my plans are based on no expectations for what may actually be in the DLC. It's just going to be one of the characters that I keep making for Souls games, person that wears silver armour and uses axes/axe-adjacent weapons, and the only things I'll be on the lookout for are those weapons and stuff that fits my character's pre-existing looks.
If I *were* to prepare, I imagine an ideal build would be "whatever gets me fast rolls, bleed damage, an unpleasant amount of Vigor, access to status resistance equipment for the inevitable Frost Swamp, Frenzy Swamp and Gravity Swamp". Anything else would be preferential or guesswork.

I wanna see more paired weapons in the dlc. I think the only one we have is a drop from the grafted scion, and i want more.
Or, alternatively, more weapons with unique properties, like the carian knight sword blocking during heavy attacks.
Starscourge Greatswords are also paired, as are all claw and fist weapons (except Grafted Dragon).

It has it's own sort of level up scaling system unique to the DLC. Very curious how that's gonna work

I know it’s a bit of a weird ask, but I’d hope they add at least a couple new crystal tears in the DLC. Wondrous Physick is a fun little mechanic, I want more weird little things to mix into it.
I hope we get more Deadly poison, scarlet rot, perfumer recipes and throwing pots
Can you do a guide on Lies of P level 1 run with weapons upgrades and p organs allowed, I want to attempt but not many guides out there for that challenge run
looking forward to a red lighting spear incant, and for the faith/dex fight between lighting spells and weapons to be fixed because it's stupid that Gransseax's Bolt is purely dex while spells are all faith

I want to control enemies in the game in the arena against other players using enemies like in Shadow Tower. Maybe that tower will be in the upcoming shadow? but probably not tho. at LEAST let me replay bosses in the arena or somethin... There's already alternate ghosty versions of a ton of important bosses (yes I know they're different people lorewise but the models are the same), it's not like we've never fought a spirit version of someone in ER. Sekiro letting you redo bosses was such a good idea and the arena would be a wonderful place to do it. Mayyybe even fighting more than 1 at once!
But probably not tho.

As a caster and as a status buildup build it's generally better to use the stagger window for buildup/casting than to take the critical strike especially when your weapon is lacking damage.
Fun fact: in the 1.00 version of Elden Ring, the Dragonscale Blade’s Unique Skill had the much cooler name "Hailstorm Sword". No idea why they would change that.

I want to see a Power within, chikage,or beast claws style weapon or ability. Something that rewards a very aggressive high risk high reward play style.

i wonder if instead of the fire having an ai, it has some weird riccochet properties, but only when impacting certain parts of the arena, like maybe the 'Fog' of the edges of the arena
Well the arena certainly messes with the fight to begin with, so I wouldn't be surprised if it affects the trajectory of the fire as well

They don't come from pupa either though, they come from aquatic larvae (which is why they're always near ponds).
Fun fact, I found out these aberrations exist in real life when I had one at my window in my family's vacation home. At first I mistook it for some gigantic mutated moth, then realized it was definitely not that, and then I found out it was an actual thing that exists.
