Thanks for sharing. I have an X1C and I'm thinking about getting one of these and shifting the AMS over to this to do multi-color PLA and just use my X1C for the more advanced filaments it's suited to, that the AMS stands in the way of using without swapping tubes around, etc. (yeh, I know there's splitters and such, but it's not quite the same experience).

Have you tried Igus Self Lubricating filaments?
I just got my X1C Combo on Friday last week, and packing was at least as good as on your P1S there. Really impressive packaging. And also got some ptfe spare tubes, an extra 0.4 hot end, and some wipers, screws, grease etc. I did not get the phone holder parts though. :) I ordered the textured PEI plate, but the one that was shown 1 1/2 week ago on their website when I ordered, was not the gold colored version. So that must be brand new.

Thanks for the video, i just ordered mine today and i must say that i really appreciate how you were unwavering in the absolute most uncomfortable way of undoing all those screws for our benefit! Knowing me, i would have probably tried to wrestle the AMS out before i realized it was locked in and yet again when it didn’t work because I didn’t unlock the build plate. Because … directions… nahhhhhh lol. You’ve got a new Sub!
Great video as always. Just a question, when you send a print to it, how long is it before it actually starts to print that item? Wondering about all the self tests and such it does and can you turn those off? Typically I use the same filament for most of my prints so I wouldn't think all the tests are that necessary every time you print something... looking at this printer combo and another one, will get a new printer this year sometime. Thanks so much for sharing with us!!!

My P1S with 2x AMS has a Tracking Number! I almost ordered a bunch of extra PTFE Tubes but was told the P1S comes with some. Love the color and will go great with Yellow accessories! Let's Go Pens!!!
I generally open boxes like that from the bottom, that way you can pull the box straight up, and it sits nicely on the table. Would be hard pulling out the stand-up freezer I just bought from the top 😂
No SD card with my X1C I just got last week so that must be really new or exclusive to specific model(s). New AMSs do ship with the extra PTFE so that's cool.
I just got my X1C last week and can tell the P1S has been packed the exact same way.

Great video Jim!! I read on the Bambu Labs website while looking at this model 3D printer that if you use filament with the cardboard reel, it's best to use their attachment so that cardboard residue doesn't get into the workings of the AMS. I use Overture filament because I feel as though I get better printing results. I'm still learning both 3D printing and Diode Laser engraving. What are your thoughts on cardboard reels versus the plastic ones? Thanks!!

I ordered my P1P last week with the AMS with upgrades and coming in today 😭 I ordered the P1S with hardened nozzle and extruder this morning and going to summit a return for the P1P and upgrades that will no longer be needed. I’m just going to keep the AMS, not worth my time or cost of shipping the AMS. This is what I wanted and they finally released one.
So glad I watched this video I almost threw away the hot end and never took the plastic off the desecant
I maybe getting a bigger job soon and need a second machine. Bamboo is probably a good choice if available on short notice.

Can you compare the P1S to the X1C ? I would like to know if the $500 difference is worth it. Apparently the only differences are the lidar, bed temp, and maybe insulation.
Adding to the other stuff you mentioned the x1c has a door sensor a 1080p camera instead of 720p has a hardened nozzle out of the box for engineering filaments and the big thing everyone loves is the nice touch screen on the x1c as far as I know those are the main differences plus the x1c has an aluminum housing instead of plastic in my opinion the $500 isn't really worth it unless you print a lot of abrasive or hard to work with filaments or reallllyyyy want the touch screen. from what I understand the prints come out almost identical.

Thanks for the video. What are the dimensions with the AMS attached?
The hotend being grey colored just means it is the steel version. Black is the hardened steel hotend. In their shop they offer the unhardened ones for 0.2mm an 0.4mm, while the hardened ones ar available as 0.4mm, 0.6mm and 0.8mm. Also this is just a spare one, which is the same as it is already in the printer. Basically the same as for the P1P.
My P1P came with the liquid glue. Too bad this one comes with the old gluestick.
Can definitely see there is a door on the printer. So an enclosed P1P....
I use the liquid glue it is the best never had a print that didn't stick.
Do you recommend this one more than the one with the color screen
Hi 🤠 I just saw your previous video for beginners. I would like to get a 3D P to manufacture Raspberry PI cases and drone parts to start with. But I am also a PCP air rifles aficionado and I would like to make cool non-firing parts for rifles. What I would like to find out is about materials. It would be nice to have a video that describes what materials are possible to build with on different printers to figure out a Return On Investment . I would like to build things with the toughest composite materials possible. Do all 3D printers work with the same materials?
My PRUSA MK3/4 doesn't need glue stick. Does the golden print surface require glue stick or can you print without it?

I actually bought two P1P printers since they ere on sale i was going to buy the X1 Carbon as well but i stoped because i need a taller or higher in size printer and i heard Bambu might be coming up with XL model so i wonder what is all that about. I wonder if its going to have a larger printing area only? or will it have taller printing area? or both? if you guys have information on this please let me know. I would like to stick to Bambu labs printers because the speed and price affordability. I am not sure if there are other companies out there that make these printers taller in size and affordable in price like Bambu, if you guys have some information on that please share it with me and everybody else i would greatly appreciate it.

Should I use wood filament in the AMS or is it too abrasive for the machine?
I would be cautious about it, perhaps download print and install the Y Splitter mod from printables and just run that filament from the back of the machine. Up to you however

Whats the spool holder for if you've already got an AMS?
For the more abrasive filaments like carbon fiber, which is not supposed to go through the ams (will wear it out faster or get clogged)

That's a very tough question because the x1 carbon comes with technology that this does not have. But you could put a hardened hot end in it and still print high temp stuff. Technically. I don't think there's any reason that you couldn't take this and make it able to print higher temp material, especially with the enclosure. But again, the X1 carbon has technology that this does not have. Honestly, if you are going to print mostly PLA, PETG or TPU, this is your machine

Is it dual voltage? 110-220v
LED light strip included? Bambu could do a better job of telling you exactly what the come with.
Can you please confirm that the printer works with 110V as well as 220V without an external transformer? Thank you.
Believe that is set depending on where in the world you order it. It could be Auto switching if I remember right because there's not a manual switch on the power supply that I remember.

Why not just pull the plastic pull up tabs at the back. You did it the difficult way. Bambu made the plastic so easy to get off if you would have followed directions.
What do you think about the X1C and it’s price point now?
It's now 500 eur for a hardened nozzle and extruder, lidar and much better screen. Kind of rough. I assume they'll cut the price of X1 in not so distant future

I am anxious to see the P1S. I am thinking of getting a Bambu Labs printer. My first printer was a Davinci Pro 1.0 I got like 5 years ago and now I have two Creality Ender 3 pros I used to make videos, but I became too busy to keep it up in any time. But if you want to check out my best project, I once made an automatic golf ball teeing machine on my channel and 3d printed a ton of parts for it. I started watching your channel when I got my Creality printers for upgrade ideas.

I have the two creality printers set up for different materials. I have one with a direct drive and only print TPU on it with a .8 nozzle and one with a dual gear Bowden extruder and a .6 nozzle that I only use for PETG. I keep them both in the fireproof tent style enclosures. With the nozzle size changes, the speed of printing was a huge change. I am curious how fast the Bambu Labs will print with .6 or .8 because I think most testing is done with the .4 nozzle
@@MacLeodGolf It won't speed up much more than it is actually. Sometimes it's a little bit slower than the 0.4 nozzle, when using the bigger nozzles. That's because plastic can only flow so fast through the nozzles. But it still will be much faster the ender threes
Only print 3D models that are open source with Bambu lab 3D printers.
Finally someone that is testing the P1S.... everyone with videos about the X1C thinking we can fork out thousands of dollars for a 3D printer... thanks sir :)

You can still get the P1P if you want to do your own panels. Would still have to buy the other stuff to upgrade though.

The moment Bambu Lab becomes the new Creality? Hey this sold good so lets just change one thing, use more plastic and ignore all of the feedback everyone gave about the dumb control screen, etc. and sell them as the new hot printer…🤦♂️
They have the model with the bigger screen. This is meant to be less expensive.

X1C has micro LiDAR, better camera, better screen, metal enclosure and faster main board

That display is a non starter for me. The size would constantly frustrate me for sure.
You don't use the display nearly as much as you'd think. Mostly the slicer and the app. I do think its the main weak point of the P1 though.
So… fantastic price, fantastic features, a display that isn’t optimal so it’s a non starter? You basically live in the slicer 95% of the time. The only reason I ever go to the display is to load and unload filament. With the AMS even that becomes trivial at best. Soooo….
@@rjakiel73 so I only caught the tail end of it and didn't hear about any prices so..., but what does what *you* do with your printer have to do with how I use my printer? Yes it matters to me and and obviously it matters to Bambu labs or they would have included a serious alternative with proper display that reflects what decade we're in.
@@Xploit66 Right, it's the week point as far as we know so far, frankly none of them are great that I've seen but, there should be a proper file manager and hard drive. I'll likely wait for something better.

Without a proper bit to remove the 4 dumbo ams cushioning screws, its a pain in the arse. its really overpackaging. wth. Why not use a simple cross shape screw. thats it. the designers at bambu really over thought the packaging.

I don't agree. If you have already gotten upgrades you can just order the parts you don't have yet, or order the whole kit and have extra parts in case of failure. It's just like any other printer that we get and upgrade, then 6 months later a version comes out with the upgrades built in. They didn't do anything new here.
