I have Balboa Mist in my east facing room. It leans lavender in the early morning, off white midday, and true grey in the late afternoon. My trim is Swiss coffee which really helps to balance the balboa mist throughout the day (the contrast between the trim and walls remains the same ratio throughout the day)

I’m all about bold color. My northeast facing bedroom is Sherwin Williams’ Kimono Violet and it works really, really well in this room. It’s a very bold dark purple, very slightly more red. It plays nicely with all the wood furniture and blinds in my bedroom, and looks good at all times of day. Also looks amazing no matter how much or how little light I let in the room.
I have a properly east facing room is painted Sherwin Williams Rare Wine (a dark red). It’s not as perfect as kimono violet, but I love the color and it maintains its beautiful intensity at all times of the day.

Lovely color suggestions. Loved them all. Never thought about a paint color changing throughout the day due to changing light conditions. Learned it here.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you!! Your videos have been so helpful. I am currently testing White Dove and Cloud White in my two small east facing bedrooms. My choice changes depending on what time of day I walk into the rooms. You are so right about the light!

What White worked for you? How are you using that white? I am looking to do a wall unit backed by a bold color.

My 15 yo son picked csp-745 for his east facing room and it is better than he had hoped. It looks great. Darker than I would choose, but *teenager*

My new old house has a big living room with a large, north-facing window. Would love to see some ideas on what colors to consider for walls & trim/mantel.

Uggh... wish I had seen Full Moon before I painted my living room Agreeable Gray- Agreeable Gray is nice, but Full Moon is gorgeous! Twilight Grey is lovely as well. All of these colors are great!

I have 5 windows on the main floor facing north East...i tried London Fog but it was ridiculous how it changed during the day and it didn't go with my Nordic grey on other side...Sometimes London fog looked a calm grey and in the afternoon it was icy robin egg blue. .Switched to Shaker Beige and I'm a happy camper...beige is trending at my house. I look forward to hear what you say re north facing.

Suggestions on a creamy white that will not wash out midday due to being surrounded by green foliage. We live in the woods so a hue of green seems to poor into our whole home midday. Our light beige (not sure on exact color, as it was painted by previous owner) gives off a cool tone and makes me feel more sleepy in our east facing living room by noon😅 thanks!

I love your insight on color! What paint colors would you recommend to tone down and modernize an east facing room with yellow maple/cherry wood and Tuscan-inspired colors? Thank you!

I have a room that is NE facing, slightly more east. I'm liking the idea of Liveable Green, but do you have any other suggestions that maybe have slightly more warmth (I also saw your video for north-facing rooms)?

Thank you... but.... I was really hoping for more neutrals that would suit an East facing room! I just painted my east facing room in Behr Grey Mist... it seems to work really well.... but, I wish it held color more during the intense lighting times of day....

    • @thepaintpeople
      @thepaintpeople  3 роки тому +1

It's a valid point, the tricky thing about neutrals in eastern exposure is they get even MORE neutral midday, if you know what I mean. I just tend to favour a bit more saturation, but neutrals can work too!

Hello! I was wondering if you could help me with selecting a paint color for my living room? It doesn’t get a lot of sunlight, but I wanted a medium-dark blue-grey color that still shows the blue without needing sunlight? I was thinking maybe Van Courtland Blue? Or water’s edge?

Could you please review Benjamin Moore Gray Mirage? I plan on using this color in my kitchen. My cream color cabinets are glazed. I am at a loss for adjoining rooms color, an open floor plan.

I have windows in our bedroom facing East and west. Depending on the time of day the primary light source shifts so I guess I should follow both guidelines?

Thank you, I appreciate this info a lot. I picked a warm peach in my east facing guest bedroom that only has one small window and I love it. I’m currently trying to pick a neutral for my east & south facing dining room indoor/outdoor room that has tons of windows (hoping to switch them out for sliding glass doors one day). It has outdated beige tile, is surrounded in exterior stucco walls (so no trim to provide contrast), and will have warm wood tones and black in the furnishings (hoping to do a wood ceiling too). It makes my head spin a little bit I’m going to look into sw bona fide beige you mentioned it another video.

Hi, love your channel. We have a east facing kitchen with a small window which does have some light blocked by the neighbouring house and has walls on other 3 sides. so its more diffused light. we love agreeable gray for cabinets but unable to find any other color for wall. any suggestions. we use it mostly in noon and night.

    • @thepaintpeople
      @thepaintpeople  2 роки тому

You have a lot of options with agreeable gray. Is there a type of color you're leaning towards?

    • @hariprashanthganapathy6061

@@thepaintpeople we are right now thinking about agreeable gray for top and mega greige with bottom cabinets and pure white for the walls . Alabaster for walls seems to blend in with the agreeable grey. We want to make the kitchen look more spacious . Have a nice Island as well. So either we want island to pop out or have all base cabinets in a darker monochromatic shade ( warm greige).

Am I wrong for wanting richer colours in my home?
Okay, I do NOT want primary red yellow and blue!
But I don't like white beige or pastel walls.
    I like a brick red...
    Steel blue...
    Smokey yellow...
    Forest green...
    Etc.
Is it too overwhelming to paint most of your room in brighter colours?
But that's also why I want paint in most of my home...
Sure I want a fully tiled bathroom which is difficult to change.
I understand it's not very pricey to repaint a room?

My SE facing room is a combination of BM Lush and a brown that reminded me of a combination of the plains, leaves on a tree, and tree bark, called approaching autumn. I wanted something that would show the intersection of where I live, between the plains and the mountains, and I felt this was a way to have both. AA was originally going to be the primary color, but as soon as I painted Lush on what I had planned as an accent wall, it became the primary room color.
Lush is such a rich green, and it does get dark at night (it's dark) , but it's such a great color at different times of the day.
My artwork and couch help bring it all together, and it makes me happy. I doubt there are a ton of living rooms like mine.
Struggling to pick the color for the transition into the kitchen and dining area, but it will be lighter, and I might stick with the greenish tones, but wouldn't be opposed to a lighter winter scheme there.

What a load of crock. You never want cooler colors in east facing rooms - they appear cold, sterile, and gloomy most of the day.
