- Florida's Tri-Rail is a commuter train service that runs between Miami and West Palm Beach. In this video, we will see many different Tri-Rail commuter trains as they run along the rail corridor. Every type of car and locomotive currently used by Tri-Rail is included in the video. All aboard for a fun trip to sunny South Florida!

@@CentralPALocos The F40s have been rebuilt. They were being tested a few months ago, they'll probably return pretty soon. The F40PHLs weren't rebuilt and will probably never return.
Fun fact those geeps were Ex NS high hoods GP49s. One of my favorite engines on the roster next to the F40s

Tri-Rail *IS* the perfect railroad. Those horns say it all. I was down in South Florida just last month, and all that played on my mind was just "Tri-Rail" on a broken record, and I filmed every train I could (although it didn't come out like this because I uploaded the clips individually and was tripodless), but it looks like neither of us ever managed to catch GP49H-3 #817 and it's amazing bell in action, but don't worry, it'll be there for me when I come back there next year, along with the rebuilt F40PHs! Also, adding the Tri-Rail horn to your intro screen was a brilliant idea, and you should keep it!

@@CoasterFan2105 you should also visit it when the Coastal Link opens. Then you could see the Virgin trains bypass Tri-Rail stations!
You were in my neck of the woods when u filmed in Hialeah, when the F40s come back, search up Iris and you'll see atleast 20 trains. But that spot sees 45 no doubt.

Amazing action CoasterFan! I see Tri-Rail has a lot of bombardier bi-level cars and a few Hyundai rotem cab cars similar to the ones over at MetroLink.

I tried out Tri-Rail today, they were pretty nice, and a bunch of the trains were now operating with 4 cars instead of 3

My Dad and I rode Tri Rail from Boco Raton to Mangonia Park and Return to Boco Raton back on June of 2019. I hope My Dad and I will ride Tri Rail again soon, which is from Boco Raton to Miami.

@@TracksideIsaiah Also, the horns on both commuter rails are very different. The horns on SunRail don’t sound the best, and the horns on Tri-Rail sound really nice.

I see a mix of trains hauled by single EMD/Mid-America GP49H-3 locomotives, trains hauled by single Brookville BL36PH locomotives, and trains hauled by dual Brookville BL36PH locomotives, even though the latter still have only 3 or 4 coaches, and sometimes even include a cab car (even if it is a Hyundai-Rotem cab car with the cab end shaped to be really on the end). I did not see any of the Colorado Railcar DMUs that the Wikipedia articles says that they have; this article also reports that all of their F40PH-2C and F40PH locomotives are out for rebuild at Progress Rail, but should be back later this year.

Why doesn't Try-Rail use the cab cars? All the trains which have the cab cars have an engine on both ends of the train.
The Rotems failed an inspection and were prohibited from leading for about a 3 month period, during which all this footage was shot. You may know of a time when Metrolink had to lease BNSF AC4400CWs to block their Rotem Cabs after the Oxnard Crash. This was basically that.

Hey Mike, why do Brightline and Tri-Rail run on the same route?
ThePurpleVanpier they don’t. Two different set of rails about a mile apart from each other.
Never knew they operated the gp38? (Idk how to tell the difference between gp38 and 40) also why is there another engine in front of the new cab cars?
1) Wouldn't it make more sense if they had fewer engines and more routes? 2) I long for the day when metro ATL admits that it exists and thus builds a commuter train. Amazing system, though, is metro Miami rail.

They purposely make it feel crowded on this train to make you take other means of transit

Where are the terminal ends for Trirail? Are there stoppers for the trains?
Yes. Miami international airport station is the last station and there are end bumpers. Mangonia park is also a terminus but is a regular looking station. The train engineer is required to go into reverse wait for a clear signal ready to go along the switchover then be on its way
