The first rule in football is to RESPECT YOUR OPPONENT. In the group stages Bayern beat Barça 3-0 twice and after the second game, Muller said 'Barca lacked intensity to compete at the highest level' .. which was true but shouldn't be said publicly by an opposing player after beating a team. Almost makes it seem like your team is perfect, without any flaws. Then in the presser before A UCL quarter-final v Villareal Neuer and Nagelsman both say that they will beat Villareal, for sure. Look at current Barca , that time will be a tittle challenger next season the way they're playing after a downfall. Knockout games are like that & you can't say 1-0 lead is less or high because one team overtook it & or in other circumstances couldn't score 1 goal. I always said with Flick the approach was different & with Nagelsman we're different but as he's young,we'll improve. Props to Villarreal , it wasn't like we played too bad , they're very good too.

@Cyning can a 20th place team in La liga beat the team 1st place on a any given week? I don't think so and most probably NOT at all. In Premier League, that possible. That could hardly happen in La liga.

Exactly! -3 defenders who are shy and unable to bring the ball out of defence (compare with Thiago Silva/Rudiger at Chelsea or Bonucci/Chiellini of 10 years ago who did it right). -Useless wide men (Coman and Sane) because they are no longer being accompanied by full backs bombing forward. Did Sane beat his opposite number even once in this game? -Goretzka, Musiala and Muller tripping one another in the central zones because they all want to occupy them. It's a mess all over the pitch.
Bayern's lack of organisation of the attack has been their undoing, Naggelsman tactic to use every forward available at the same time is too naive for a team like this
Nagelsmann is a good manager, but he was given a big job like Bayern Munich way too quickly. He's still learning and a team like Bayern needs a ready to challenge, experienced manager and it doesn't help that Bayern doesn't exactly have great squad depth.
Bayern's squad depth isn't the main issue (they have quite the players that didn't even play today). Nagelsmann still needs to get a robust understanding of how Bayern operates with the players and resources at hand.
@@doncarloancelotti2256 This wasn't the game to go with a back three 3-2-4-1 formation, in my opinion, also Lucas Hernandez is arguably Bayern's best and most consistent central defender, taking him off and putting on a left-back was a costly mistake

I really would love it if Villarreal become the smallest town in history to win the Champions League and with the smallest budget of the millenium too. Money dominates the game these days especially recently hence why the Premier League teams are dominating generally in numbers. But football needs teams like Villarreal to upset the tide the flow of these monopoly teams such as Real Madrid Bayern PSG and the PL bunch who have a much heavier punch economically over everyone else and by a big distance. It would be really an absolute fairy tale. Cant believe this small club made its 2nd Champions League final too. Believe in The Yellow Submarine to dream ✨️ 🙏🏻
Ahh yes this is so so true man, it'll be a message to the world of football if Villareal can win. Unfortunately tho, we always see the underdog teams do great till the UCL semis but then get knocked out against the big team, like Leipzig, Ajax did in the past, Croatia in the World Cup. Let's hope Villareal can win this!!
The PL teams aren't dominating just because of money. It's also because of the world class managers they have, and the team's mentality they have created.
@@AJ-nd4nk money can afford these managers which implemented mentality through foreign Internationals in staff and players. The PL has been the richest league since its creation in 1992 in terms of TV rights which attracted bigger team & individual sponsorships, merchandising through global marketing and well also highest gate receipts over any other league. Football is pay to win just like most sports. Your saying then Chelsea and City without their billion pounds plus spending would still be in the Champions League Quarter finals lol because of mentality? @@naville82 You clearly think football started 10 years ago. In the 70s amd 80s when the English sides dominated, it was British players and managers. Even Inter won the CL in 2010 with 0 Italian players in their starting 11. Money helps of course, but to accredit everything to money is stupid. Man Utd would be the best in that case as they have spent over billion since Fergie, but they are terrible. Liverpool on the other hand have the least net spend out of the major clubs and have achieved great results. It's not all about money.

This is the biggest embarassment Bayern have had in the Champions League in a long long time. And I really don't care if Villarreal had won the Europa League last season. Bayern are Bayern. They had to go through. When people are ranking them among the top 3 favourites to win the Champions League then it's a massive blow when they are getting knocked out by a team like Villarreal.
True. Credit to Villareal and all that but Bayern had a favourable draw compared to the other teams as well. It's a huge disappointment for them. Villarreal had to navigate tougher opposition.
Dude, they’re 7th in La Liga. They’ve allowed in 30 goals in their league. How are they the best defence left in the CL when Madrid, Liverpool and Man City have all conceded less goals this season.
A lot of people and pundits were saying that Bayern will trash Villarreal like they were nothing. Where are they now? I really like to know the analysis they're going to bring up now
Gotta say, I didn't expect that! Congratulations, Villareal! I hope that my team plays you in the semi, and may the best team win. As a Liverpool fan, in some ways I would have rather played Bayern in the semifinal than Villareal because I think we could have run that defence of theirs ragged and spun it inside out. Villareal's defence feels like it will be a tougher task from that point of view.
When Atletico plays ultra defensive against English team it's travesty and shame, but when Villareal does exactly the same vs Bayern they are great organized team with excellent gameplan.
Please do not compare that atletico game with villareal. That Atletico game was absolutely atrocious. They created no chances, while in contrast villareal actually dominated the first leg, and created at least 3 chances in this second leg.
Villareal will get praised because that game plan was the one that will lead them to success. What Atletico does it just terrorism on a pitch. They got the quality players but their coach refuses to play attacking football.
This result wasn’t surprising, I think you’ve taken like begging onto another level. Logical football fans would see Bayern have little to no chance of winning:
Bundesliga pure farmers - turns out winning the league 10 years in a row and buying players/managers from your rivals doesn't make a competitive league.

It couldn't be more easier for Liverpool now to make it to the final, bring the seventh to the club, I doubt it because Man City looks like is committed to win it this year, I predict a strong final but Guardiola will win it finally.
The absolute machine that is Robert Lewandowski has been patching over the holes at Bayern Munich for seasons now. If Dortmund hadn't made a habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory the title race in the Bundesliga would be more interesting.
The 3 most prestigious and winning football teams in the world are: Real Madrid 26 international trophies, Milan 18 trophies and Barcelona 17 ... then throughout history when they won, they also dominated like Real di Stefano, Milan di Sacchi and Guardiola's Barcelona

Rest assured we Liverpool fans, coaching staff and players do respect our opponents and know how we have done a lot of unimaginable comebacks in our history. We wont be underestimating Benfica at all.
I think the problem is that the quality of the Bundesliga is sliding and therefore BM don't have the quality teams to play against a bit like PSG. If winning your own league is considered a mediocre season then it tells you a lot about the actual league then anything else.
The score was very misleading too, as are the 23 "shots" (most of which unthreatening). Bayern's 2nd leg performance was worse than Juve's. Very sedate, passing the ball slowly before crossing aimlessly towards Albiol and Torres who are among the best in Europe for headed clearances. Nagelsmann has destroyed Flick's system which allowed full backs to bomb forward and double team oppositions with their wingers. The three-man backline brings nothing since the 3 Frenchmen are hesitant to bring the ball out of defence and prefer to pass it safe.
Bayern needs a maestro in midfield. For a long time now, that has been the main problem. Goretzka and Kimmich are good players but they are "workers", not real playmakers and virtuosos. Bayern should look to bring some high-class players, like Modric.
This shows how unpredictable knockout competitions are. The 2 underdogs , Villarreal vs Benfica in semis. At least one in the final, great achievements.

Lewandowski pull a Mbappe y'all don't blame me i scored blame the team 🤣
THIS IS AMAZING I WISH THEM LUCK 🍀 AND HOPE THEY WIN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
This shows how unpredictable knockout competitions are.
The 2 underdogs , Villarreal vs Benfica in semis. At least one in the final, great achievements.
I see Liverpool winning this CL again. When they win smaller teams devour bigger teams to pave way for Liverpool. Bayern were totally outplayed by Villareal we should give them the credit they deserve. It won't be an easy game for Liverpool but they'll win the CL
No.
If Athletico put City out yes. Otherwise its City. Liverpool getting lucky with that draw big time though.
@@virupakshawalla5734 and city also got lucky though. 2 times de bruyne scored goals were of a deflection both at Anfield and Etihad. If those aren't lucky goals i dont know wat u call it. City also got lucky bcaz fabinho couldn't finish an open goal at ANFIELD same as mahrez missed at the last min in eithad. It's pretty even out there and nobody's lucky unless u r a biased city fan
@@gnaneshl7899 Liverpool robbed City in both games though. Milner should've gotten a red card in anfield and in the etihad Fabinho and Thiago should've gotten a red card, Sterling wasnt offside and Foden goal should've counted
@@juanestebankruhsanmguel1960 really? So you mean Sterling wasn't offside. Let me watch it again.
Nagelsman is a joke. Davies has a swollen heart for 3 months. Then comes back and you play him agaisnt villareal (away) for their forst match back? The gail came from davies side. THEN AGAIN, today nagelsman took of hernandez and puts davies on and BOOM, goal. Davies yet again. Not blaming davies, blaming that joke of a coach.
So happy for The Yellow Sub
Go shock the world even more now by knocking out Liverpool in the semis
this loss hurts more than any other champions league loss before for bayern. we are not used to losing to smaller teams, but i hope it’s a wake up call for naggelsman. he should learn and now has a year of experience with the team hoping to come back next year with most of the squad and assign a better game plan to generate more in the attacking third
Put some respect on the Spanish
JUVE for 4 years has been meeting the OUTSIDERS of the competition: AJAX-LYON-PORTO-VILLAREAL! What is this mess????
- Ajax (semi-final) (Real+Juve)
- Lyon (semi-final) (Juve+City)
- Porto (quarter-final) (Juve+almost Chelsea)
- Villareal (semi-final) (Atalanta+Juve+Bayern)
Villarreal is having a weird season, they trash in La Liga and Gods in CL it's very strange 😂
La liga is tough dude this mid taple la liga teams are insane la liga is the best league in the world Villarreal is 7th in the league but they dominated outside la liga prem is just city Liverpool and Chelsea la liga is tough from bottom to the top
La liga is strange. I mean the 1-3 places are always the same teams. But the 4th-20th are strange, anybody can be anywhere. It's kind insane.
Its easy they focus on cl this season beside barcelona in la liga is knocking every team they go against. I’m RM fan btw.
@@GamerFrisco it is the best league on the world wacko!
@@jojodawide3097 Haha west ham beat sevilla, man utd beat villareal twice and chelsea just dominated madrid away. Another EpL final inbound
It was embarrassing. Nagelsman showed the world today he's not an elite manager. He sold the game. Everything is on him. Everything. Feel so bad for the players
*Mark Ogden looks like if Dirk Nowitzki never had a growth spurt and was given birth in an English tea house.*
Dont undermine la liga teams ask chelsea and bayern🔥🔥😂😂😂

La liga teams have lost every single game/ tie against German teams this season except for the Bayern and Villarreal tie
it feels like these guys didn't watch the game. Bayern were incredibly strong, managing to carve out real chances from an unreal Villareal side, it was an edge of your seat match like Chelsea vs Real Madrid. Villareal play with a real confidence in big games, where organised defensive teams usually hang on this team will remain organised at all costs and push itself to score when possible, its a well-oiled machine that I could even see going all the way.
Much congratulations to Villarreal 💯💥👌🏿 great two legs of football ..
Bayern Munich be like: 7th title loading.
Unai Emery: Good ebening!
Nagglesman is a good coach, but he is too young to manage a big club
Bla bla

@@danielredziniak2996 aha, you think so?
Over the past ten years, the Bundesliga has devolved into a second-tier European League. It was inevitable that the rot would eventually extend to Bayern.
😂
Villareal vs Real Madrid in the finals. My prediction.
So many people were counting Villarreal out, but they look very organized and patient with or without the ball. I had a feeling they would pull an upset, and they did. Bayern looked so annoyed that Villarreal would not fold under the pressure. But honestly, their attacks were predictable.
Man city better be careful tomorrow
It's simply not happening
Atleti 1-0 city taking it to penalties
How is it embarrassing? It's not as if Villareal is a scrub club. Coached by Emery they are formidable in knockout competitions.
This was a great "ebening"
It is good, Lewandowski and bayan Munich was trying to discredit what Messi has put on in the world of football for more than a decade now, simply because of his undeserved ballon d'or,why won't he changed the game as he claimed to be more complete player
Villarreal is going to win the UCL with the soul power of the Europa League teams that are now bankrupt.
