If we're talking about a Wrestlemania Piper or even territories Piper vs post pipe bomb Punk then you'd have to have Piper as the heel and Punk as the face. You'd have to start with Piper holding a title. You'd have to have a Piper's Pit where they verbally joust before someone in Piper's crew perhaps Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. or Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff would attack Punk. You'd need to have several tag team matches for payoffs before the blow off match that would end the feud where Piper would beat Punk for the title. Getting Piper during that time to do the job was near impossible as he didn't even lay down for Hogan so not sure how this could end any other way but Punk could get a few wins before then by DQ over Piper and clean pins over Piper's cohorts. Piper could get wins over Punk's choices of tag team partners. Not sure who you'd bring in for that but they need to be midcard guys who can take the loss in the match.
