This is the only Podcast I watch where it doesn't matter who the guest is it's an instant click as soon as I see the notification, love the banter lads keep up the good work and have a good Christmas!
Totally agree. I’m the same. Absolutely brilliant podcasts
Agreed
If like this watch open goal ones with si ferry. His podcast are class
@@kevreid3809 Great shout mate I've been listening to them for a while too 👍

I played against Ronaldo 3 times and won all 3, some record that..??
I’m like that with Shrewsbury..!!
I laughed so hard my drink came out my nose.
Some of Parkys one liners wouldn’t be out of place in a Peter Kay comedy..!!!
I support Newcastle but I still enjoy this, there’s something about listening to any footballer talking about their careers that I just can’t get enough of
Gray was happy to play for a club who have denied child abuse for years, until yesterday when they tried to settle out of court..... 🙏 and thoughts with the hundreds of victims.
@@Pennyburn1688shut up ya tit
OUTSTANDING podcast lads. as a safc fan in dark depressing times at the moment, Micky's story's put a smile on my mush.
christopher clark we’ll be back soon mate #SAFC
michael gray is slowly morphing into Chael Sonnen with age
john candy hahaha just realised he does look a bit like him
Brilliant 😂
Lol

Loved Peter Reid's Sunderland side at the turn of the millennium. Kevin Phillips and Niall Quinn were awesome
They were a hard working, determined team. Definitely the best Sunderland's team in recent years. I actually watched them play at Roker Park during the mid 90's
from a non sunderland fan i think we all did bar the mags
@@D1Snr the
Fantastic as usual, absolute class. Would love to be sat with them having a beer just listening. Jon Parkin cracks me up, absolutely brilliant
Great episode. I was a teenager when Mickey was playing and he makes an interesting point about the teams decline starting with the influx of foreign players. Sunderland was never going to be the type of club where continental players thrived. I suspect there were other reasons why the club went in that direction. Probably worth checking which agent done the most work with the club and their relationship with the club. Also, their bonus scheme was crazy. Think what the bonuses would be at the huge rich clubs. Insane. Sunderland are still paying for those actions now.
I’m a Newcastle fan but it was interesting to listen to this one, I met Micheal briefly years ago in Baja and he was a nice fella, good to see him doing well.
Cracking pod.... just discovered them & can't stop watching them. Michael Gray got some quality stories. Keep it up fellas👍
Knowing that David Bentley is a metal head is a good thing to learn 🤘🏻
Top episode, this one. The stories are always brilliant, but Michael Gray seems like a top guy as well.
Top interview again proper in site finally in to the England camp. LB wise he was Mr Consistent for his clubs, comes across really well too. More of these type of people lads 👍🏻
Good footballer and good signing on champ man
*insight
From what I can tell of his time at celtic he was a perfect pro and good servant the games he did play.. quite sad he never got a medal anyway.. wither it's 1 game or 9 he still played his part 🍀
I have a young family member who's a pro at an EFL club and he's told me some wild stories about some players and their gambling habits. I have a bit of a theory that the pro's lifestyle and why it's really conducive to creating problem gamblers.
Their contracts mean they can't do any other sport that might injure them, they're only really allowed to play golf outside of football. So they can't unwind by doing things like cycling unless it's a static bike indoors. They can't drink like they used to, they obviously can't take drugs or binge on fast food. They have to be careful who they sleep with if they're single when it's too easy for the girl to make fast cash by selling a story to the tabloids.
If they want to remain in the game and play at a pro level, they have to perform well pretty much every week. So they have to try and eliminate anything that will prevent them from doing so. It's pretty much: train, rest and recover, monitor your nutrition, play the game, then start again and repeat that sequence for 9 months of the season. It's obviously fantastically well paid, but from just watching my family member, it's very restrictive and they have to be absolutely disciplined.
Gambling is one of the few things they can do that will give them a buzz but won't affect their performances. And I think that's also why so many players have tattoos as well these days, it's another hobby they can do without it causing them any problems mentally or physically. One problem is, if they develop a bad gambling habit, being famous and wanting to remain in the game makes it more difficult for them to ask for and receive help. I bet problem betting is a far bigger hidden problem in the game than anyone actually realises. If you're a rock star, rehab for drink/drugs/sex addiction is an occupational hazard. If you can keep writing hits and playing gigs, nobody will really care about what you get up to. Football clubs are far more wary about employing players that might have psychological issues through gambling addiction, so players will do anything they can to keep it under wraps to both the clubs and the media. Including having other people running their betting accounts for them, to try and remain anonymous.
Good to see a player come up for 6 months and talk so highly makes ye proud to be a sellick man
yet to see a podcast where Parkin doesn't comment on giving a fellow player 'a tug' in the showers
Wouldn't be surprised if he's giving the guest a 'tug'.
Sam Hall still had a little cock based convo thrown in for good measure
Wouldn't be Undr the cosh without it
Its ge'ing a tug mate .
Always sounds like an alchie
Yea. No room for interpretation really.
Is it just me or do you struggle to feel sympathy for him when he talks about not getting his testimonial? Especially when he mentions the Ferrari and Aston Martin later on 😂
Sounds like an absolute fanny
Peter Reid has got to be one of your next guests. Also Marriott was a bell
Brownie's youth team experience just sounds like an episode of the Inbetweeners
Micky grey what a legend. and true to his word he used to have a couple of beers with his family in the mill view club and always said hello to everyone if they were walking past his table. proper bloke is Michael grey
Shame he didnt act like that when he wasnt with hes family isnt it because he was an absolute prick
What a player Henrik Larson was!!
Wasted his time at celtic

Really likeable guy and a top professional had a good career aswell. Fair play had a brilliant career interesting to find out he started at Manchester United.
Really enjoying the content lads, keep it up and roll on 2020
Just found your stuff lads....first time as the SHEFF wed V sunderland game -great !
Jon parkin seems a top lad, great revealing interview with mickey as well
These podcasts are brilliant.👏🏻
Flicked owa this one for months now, but I have to say it's probably me fav behind howey and bez

Good drinking game every time Parkin says “fookin”
That's how Jimi Hendrix died
i retired from Sheffield Wednesday when Alan Irvine was in charge.. :) absolutely dire. Gray was quality even at the age he was
Superb lads .... Quality yet again
love the podcast but your Patreon pay for service is very poor. sort it out guys.. the links are always locked or go nowhere...
@31:40 funniest thing baldy Chris has said on these podcasts, "who you playing, the moon?"... "atmospheres terrible!" 🤣🤣🤣
Micky Gray, Charlton Legend 🙌
26,my parents were from the same background..... 🤣😂🤣😂♥️⚽
Another class episode lads 👌
Loved everyone of the podcasts so far, this one was hard to watch and listen to, he's a total BELLEND.......
Class podcast great listen this one
I played against him twice in 91/92 season in the youth team for Hartlepool, I scored both games.
Aye & I was at the West Ham’s under 15’s tour
michael gray was a very underrated player , but a a genuinely nice fella .
The only player in the history of football to actually like Kevin Blackwell.
Andy Marriott played for Wrexham in goal, he was a cracking goalie for us and he was on the most money by a Country mile. Wrexham were struggling for money and all the lads who were mostly on shocking money by the way chipped in to have Sky at the training ground. He wouldn’t even chip in for that. His Mum Dad and first Wife Sam were all lovely people as well 🤷🏻🤷🏻🤷🏻🤷🏻
Ask Browny to get John Oster on he'll have some stories to tell 😅
Who are the other 3 on the podcast
Savage - his hair flowing all over the place , with his white boots on running around chasing a crisp packet . hes got some style lol
Excellent .....grew up with Martin Scott....he was never a fighter even at school.....but he was a toplad ....though
A great podcast guest , top bloke micky
Love these podcasts
Great show. Big Sunderland fan and loved listening to Micky's stories. Have yet to listen to one where Parky doesn't mention penises in some format though! Not sure what the crack is with that.
Slag off Niall Quinn? Give it a rest. He is one of the best people to ever happen to this club.
Brilliant cast lads. How about getting Phil Stant or Peter Swan on??
These podcasts make it sound like Football back in the day was just one long piss up!!
Great craic! He was quality at Rovers
You need to get Sean Thornton on 😂😂😂
Or Kevin Ball
Can you get Chris Morgan on would be great
SF Skiddy we’ve done a live show with Chris Morgan mate, audio version available on usual platforms.

Another cracking interview 👌
"Tyne Tunnel Bridge" 😀😀😀
Come on Mickey, we did sing a good song about you at Sunderland. Mickey Gray, Mickey Gray, blonde hair and gel. Mickey, Mickey Gray gets kicked out of Anabell"s. Waltzes down the wing, Mickey is our king, Mickey Gray, Mickey Gray, Mickey Gray!
Bryan Robson was Scholes, Keane, Gerrard & Lampard rolled into one
I love these.
Becks wasn’t coming off the bench when ronaldo an park played for United
I remember going to watch Nunez in a reserves game and all he did was jump around like a kangaroo and miss every header 😂
Micky , why the hell did ye sign for celtc ?
Please get the guests to explain who they are talking about the first time they say someones' nickname!
When’s SWFC bit?
‘I dont want you going out with these lot if thats how they go on ‘ can just imagine the. Arguments wives being at parties caused
So he didn't take his testimonial bcos he would of been expected to give it to charity. Im a Sunderland fan and we would of loved to give Micky a send off regardless of what he dome with his money
Strange listening to Micky Gray when he’s from Hylton Castle, Sunderland and sounds nothing like a Mackem now. Great show though.
He was down south (Blackburn 😂) for too long
@@pbplauralfilms he was at blackburn 3 years and spent 6 years in total out of sunderland so that is a load of rubbish he was born in sunderland and a sunderland mackem accent played for them for years and in 6 years seeems to loose hes accent...what a load of bullshit.
Got Boood & Whistled When He Played Fir England At St James Park ..... The Penalty Against Charlton At Wembley 🤣🤣🤣🖤🤍
Don't think Wayne will be gracing this podcast any time soon lads ;)
Are there many pro footballers who don't like a sup? Doesn't seem to be many who abstain by the sounds of these interviews...
TheLastAngryMan01 these are players from a different era on here most often than not
I'm sure someone is hiding behind those curtains!

Class... Micky is sound as fuck
Just discovered this channel
Binge watching
Mickey's a typical Sunderland lad , full of patter .
Not one boring moment in this podcast , where I was thinking ...change the subject .
Jon parkin funny as owt ,man
Complains about the money in the game now and not getting a testimonial....whilst driving around in a ferrari to this day. Bloke is beyond living in the real world. Seems an absolute bell.
Yeah. Think what he means is he spent half of his career not on big money so the testimonial would have set him up
Totally missed the point. He was paid Ona performance related contract. Don’t win, your pays shite. So they worked hard and for each other to secure the win bonus. Now you’ve got players on £150k a week basic and they couldn’t care less whether they play or not. I know pit workers that have got Ferrari’s, so it means nothing.
@@benjibradshaw69 At blackburn he would have been on at least 30k a week. So not I dont feel for him and not sure exactly what he is complaining about.
@@VillaBoys123 He would of definitely been on 25-30k per week. Easily.
@@benjibradshaw69 It's true. If every player had a one year contract, the insecurity would drive them to levels they would never think they could reach.
He looks like cheal sonnen
So he wouldn't have his testimonial because he couldn't keep all of the money?
So in his logic the only option was for him to keep all of the money and if not forget it- no point in raising a million quid for the terminally sick children 👀🙄
What a guy 😂
If it wasn't for niall quinn starting that trend players would still pocket all of a testimonial gate.
Fantastic watch. Get Kevin Kyle on please
Get gaz seddon on
Fuck me, when he mentioned "All us YT’s" I honestly thought he was saying whiteys
I see you's are still going on about my name been on my wooden floors, get over yourselves. I was 19 years of age, and micky saying the floor was probably about 200 quid🤣nothing changed there with micky, still the big time Charlie I remember, always going on about money
Still remember your Donny goal against Villa in the cup, great night at Belle Vue Sean.
Seems to me that the best way to put the record straight might be to go on the podcast?
Chest and volley against chelsea for the lads 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Thanks lads👊
What was browny like he always drags you into the convo
How can you talk to a player and not talk about the most famous moment of his career? That penalty miss.v Charlton Did he stipulate not to talk about it?
it might have upset his wig and false hair colour, howay Micky who are you trying to kid
Brilliant podcast, no disrespect to Michael but I seem to find the "less well known" players to be more interesting/entertaining.
His Accent fuckin ruins it for me !
But still, another great podcast 😂
@@smartycapproductions2120 that's not his real accent that's his camera accent I reckon when he's back home amongst fellow mackems his natural dialect will come out
The reason larsson stayed at celtic was because he knew what a special club he had and he's admitted that ,the English know celtic would take over your league if given the chance but you all voted no to us yet let Welsh teams in you all know celtic are and always will be the best club on this island 💚😜🍀👏 mad how the English slag the celtic off 😂
Seems a decent fella
If Michael Gray was chocolate he’d eat himself!
Let’s all do the huddle nah nah nah nah 🇮🇪🇮🇪
Unsurprisingly, McCarthy denied breaking Healy's leg at the time. Probably a wise move.
Rooney knocked him clean out so why lying the story..? Know a lad who worked there nd seen it happen, wouldn't leave the girls alone at all, nd his eye was more than a scratch...
1:34:58 No need for that Jon hahaha
24 mins in.. the weirdest accent going! Half Irish half geordie! Top banter though
Geordie?
This guy trying to disrespect Henrik because he played in Scotland 😂 the uefa cup team that beat Blackburn and Liverpool away. The guy was unreal when he played for man utd at 37. Virgil van dyke played in Scotland ffs

Nice one mick
John you don't have to try and make a joke after every comment gets boring after a while be nice to actually listen to some football stories instead of listening to you laugh like a div
Stefan Schwartz still hasn’t been
How can an Englishman play for Celtic?
Signs a contract..gets registered to play..puts on kit..kicks ball..beat rangers
Believe it or not, several have done it and loved the experience.
Celtic fans in the main have no problem with English people, they just object to imperialism.
Joe bloggs What’s even funnier, 8 going on 9 in a row...
We’re not the prejudiced ones, it’s the other lot you’re thinking of.
Only for banter and to tell the Scottish lads about getting out the group stage of world cups 😂
