Hi Teresa, thanks so much for your concern! Fortunately, Barbados was not in the path of either hurricane Irma or Jose. With Irma, we got lots of rain and even had flooding when the sea started to overflow nearby roads but other than that we escaped relatively unscathed. Irma was definitely a powerful storm!
Thank the Lord! I was so afraid for you and so very sorry for all the people who had their lives and homes devastated.
Teresa Reid Barbados has been very fortunate for several years. The last time we had a hurricane was 1955, I think. We've gotten some tropical storms which have done a lot of damage and we get wind and rain from passing hurricanes but not the main effects. Someday, we may not be so lucky but I hope that doesn't happen anytime soon. Now, we have to help those who have been directly affected to rebuild.
