I remade this episode and included the restoration of the controller. ua-cam.com/video/pV-6OnnWtsM/v-deo.html There is also a follow up video changing the laser unit: ua-cam.com/video/VVrsLXhevhA/v-deo.html
Thanks for the vid. You may have mentioned this and I missed it but you now have an audiophile quality cd player. Sony put one of their best cd players at the time inside these.
Hi. I actually did not know that. I know the PS3 has many reviews and was one of the top Blu-ray players and why I still choose it to play mine but I did not know that about the PS1. Thank you for the information!
Hi there! Well I did restore an NES that just did not work at all here ua-cam.com/video/Oj9yIjvHc5Y/v-deo.html it might interest you. Also this episode of PS1 you watched was re-edited and I added the remote fix and better explanation in episode 16 ua-cam.com/video/pV-6OnnWtsM/v-deo.html
Hi everyone! The store is up and running. I'll be adding more items in the days to come as well as merchandising for the channel. Prices are in Canadian dollars. Purchases of items fixed by me will include a signed certificate of authenticity that states the item was fixed by Retro Repair Guy. Thank you for your support! retrorepairguy.com
Very nice. This is probably what I will need to do to my original day one purchased PlayStation 1. The plastic cover has faded and it never seen sunlight??😢
Any faded covers can be restored by "retrobrighting". Hydrogen Peroxide mixed in water. You need to soak the parts and expose them to the sun for a day or two or strong UV lights in a clear plastic bin overnight. It will restore to the original color. No need to repaint it.
Hi everyone! My newest video is out. I completely restore a rare Silver Label Commodore 64 computer. ua-cam.com/video/DJNEg8T8MIA/v-deo.html Let me know if you would like to see more of these old computers or game consoles being restored as I have a few of them.
My latest video is out ua-cam.com/video/Woo1-DSzc5A/v-deo.html I restored an old drum machine that was extremely dirty. It's a Yamaha RX5 which is the same model used by many groups in the 80s including a-ha, Prince, Madonna and Vangelis. Hope you enjoy! I worked really hard on it.
Hi! Absolutely correct but at least they always made an effort to put in better quality components. Thanks for watching! This was the very first episode I completely remade it in episode 16 ua-cam.com/video/pV-6OnnWtsM/v-deo.html and also please check out the latest ua-cam.com/video/EQNuugQ-qss/v-deo.html released two days ago.

Cool
Although 'Made in Japan' almost always means a superior product, NOBODY was immune from the capacitor plague.
