Her English is so good! I'm surprised Detective Conan hasn't had Ai speaking English more, when she's that good at it.
OMG I KNOW IM SUPRISED 😮like she says her English speaking is really in this video really hoping ai haibara aka shiho speaks English n definitely wearing her dr uniform like in the anime
Still limited fluency, though, given she couldn't do the entire video in English.
I'm Japanese Megumi Hayashibara's fan . I can't speak English well 😌
But I want tell you ,I'm happy because she is loved people all over the world even speak another language :)
And Megumi Hayashibara love you too💖
She is broadcasting a radio. And she always read all over the mails. So please write description of the book and send a mail or letter to broadcaster ,if possible in Japanese🙏🏻
Please let me know the email of this radio show to send a message to her!
Please tell us the radio station and the email! :)
I named my daughter Lina after her.
Megumi fan since the 90s! I am so glad she's still around!
Amen to that!
“I hope there’s someone I’ve voiced that you’re fond of.”
You mean every character you’ve voiced?
I know about one, young people from this generation may not know, but even me not being Japanese i would like to ask something about the Japanese version of the Videogame Mansion of Hidden Souls, Shinsetsu Yumemi Yakata: Tobira no Oku ni Dareka in Japan, was Cathy voiced by the lovely Megumi Hayashibara?🤔😀
her english is very very good.
Such a lovely human being.
Btw I had no idea her English was so good
She worked very hard indeed.
@charlton khoo Oh! I didn't know. :]
IKR? Her pronunciation was on point!
Her English is one of the best, after all a good chunk of her song titles are in English, and most of their lyrics have English words in them, so of course she had to have studied the language to a high level of proficiency. Let's not forget that back in '95 at Anime America she insisted on speaking in English herself because she felt the translator didn't convey her meanings correctly at the same convention in '93 prior
She's a perfect example of a Japanese citizen that can also be fluent in English if they truly wants to learn the language and puts their heart into it. Of course, it goes without saying that with her levels of international fame it's required learning to connect with fans world wide
This woman is a living legend, she is a really special person, she basically shapes my love from manga and anime from very young age(almost 40 now)she was a wizard, a marionette, a cranky teen, a introvert robot pilot and if you go as singer this is just mind blowing how much legendary openings and endings she had on her list, a really special human to me, much love from some poor dude from a third world country who was able to keep going with the hope ur characters and songs gave me for many years.
no kidding, some call her the "seiyuu queen" Many seiyuus both new and veterans alike all look up to her as a role model and inspiration. You could say she's like the seiyuu equivalent of osamu tezuka
And don't forget about her voicing a girl in a chainmail bikini.
Can't wait for her to voice Anna again in Shaman King 2021.
I grew up listening to her as Lina Inverse, and I was so excited when I recognized her as Female Ranma!
Same.
I love her, and I can't wait for the book to come out in physical copy 💕💕
I first heard Megumi Hayashibara's voice listening to DBZ AMVs in the late-90s. So cool that she wrote an inspirational book. Congrats to everyone involved!
She was in Dragon Ball Z as a little blind boy.
@@IsiahAllison Minor role, all things considered.
@@spectraphantom6597 I know.
I'll definitely buy her book, she voiced many characters I'm familiar with:
- Female Ranma of Ranma 1/2
- Otome/Ichigo of Kyoukai no Rinne
- Musashi of Pokemon
- Rei of Evangelion
- Faye Valentine of Cowboy Bebop
- Lime of Saber Marionette J
- Tsubame of Cyberteam in Akihabara
- Momiji of Blue Seed
- Rebecca of One Piece
...
And let's not forget the legendary Lina Inverse from Slayers
Also leaving behind Canal Vorfeed in Lost Universe one of my favorites :)
Ai haibara from detective conan.
Doctor Atsuko Chiba & Paprika from Satoshi Kon's Paprika
Also Atsuko Natsume (Nuku Nuku) ua-cam.com/video/oqp9GBTwQ6Q/v-deo.html
I bought the digital version the same day it was available, it's so wonderful to read a book written by Megumi, so thanks a lot to everyone involved in this release. We take a lot of things for granted, but It's terrific to be able to buy a book with a single click and read it immediately.
In case you do happen to see this comment : Thank you very, very much for your hard work Hayashibara sensei.
I am most certainly planning to purchase the book, and I am sure I will learn many interesting things from it.
Over here in Poland we did not have that much anime air on TV, but one of those that did and is absolutely beloved in our country is Shaman King, which is a series I could not imagine without you ^^'
And then over the years I've watched many other anime you starred in, so once again I would like to thank you very much for all the amazing work in voice acting and music
Greetings from Poland
Her English is so good! And I love her in many roles but my favorite is Haibara Ai
Her voice in anime is really unique
My #1 favorite seiyuu in ANY language!!! I still hope to be even 3% as outstanding as Hayashibara-san in my own career.
I'm a huge fan of detective Conan and Ai-chan from Saudi Arabia, and I'm interested in voice acting as well!
Just preordered your book I can't wait to get it!💓💓
My favorite voice actress ever, I love her so much!
Thank you megumi san for everything you done. Great work. Thank you fir making our childhood
Wow, I was really impressed by Hayashibara's english at the start of the video. That was actually quite well.
Just finished reading it, a truly masterpiece! I have been a fan of Megumi Hayashibara for a long time so this truly a treat. Thank you so much for writing it and sharing your stories with us Hayashibara-san. Hope to meet you one day too. :)
Oh wow, she speaks really good English. Can’t wait to hear her voice as Female Ranma again in the Ranma 1/2 reboot.
Arigato, Hayashibara-san for all the voices you gave to my favorite games and anime.
Damn, even at the age 54, she can pull off a little girls voice. Arigato for voicing Rebecca!!
You mean One Piece Rebecca? That girl from One Piece? The girl in the chainmail bikini?
@@IsiahAllison Duh, who else?, lol
First heard her as Faye Valentine on Bebop. She brought so much humor to that show, now I want to watch everything else she's been in 🤣
Same here
Hah. Hope you don't plan on sleeping, she's been in practically everything.
so many amazing characters she's voiced over the years
can't wait to pick up a copy of her book
I am a big fan of megumi hayashibara from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦, I have recently just bought and started reading the book , I am really enjoying it and impressed by how it’s being illustrated in a very consistent and thoughtful way, thank you very much for this amazing work
I stumbled upon this video because of her role of Irina in Tsuki to Laika to Nosferatu and now I am going to buy her book.. I love connecting the dots and finding something new! Love your various roles throughout the history of your career.. one of my favorite VA
I'm so glad I found this video so I got to know about this book.
I actually first found out about Megumi in her role as Achika in the first Tenchi Muyo movie. This role is not in the book, but I'm so glad I bought it. There are so many other roles I love and it's also interesting to read about the ones I haven't watched.
I'm so happy this book was released in English ^^
Don't worry, Megumi, your English is just fine!
Woah, she is fluent in english just like ai haibara from detective conan.
Her voice (in english) was cute!
*LOVE her voice, so unique.*
For me, the role I first fell in love with, was Lina Inverse. But anyone can see from the description, the lady has got to play many truly legendary roles.
Im reading her book right now. Very inspiring!!! Shes so amazing and I never knew she voiced many of the characters I grew up watching!!! 😊
She’s so kawaii❤❤❤❤
I'm incredibly gratified (as such as long time fan)... that she can speak English! Low-key, I'd love to meet her and tell her how honored I am to grow up with her singing (Lost Universe, Shaman King, Shaman King 2021, etc.). Amazing woman!~
Low-key is right, aside from some interviews of certain high production shows like Evangelion or promoting her music albums she rarely makes public appearances. To this day she had only went to an anime convention in the US twice and that was back in '93 and '95. Think about it, in the past 20+ years conventions from around the globe must have all tried to invite her as a guest, but she just doesn't have the time for it. Not when you're doing voice acting work, recording songs, writing essays, composing songs, and managing a radio show. She's either very talented at multitasking, or can bend the laws of physics and stretch out time
Speaking of which, her radio show Tokyo Boogie Night is probably your best and only chance to see her in person, since every time when the show hits a milestone (a couple hundred recordings or so) she does a live recording session with live audience, that's your best bet
I love her songs so much, and my favorite character voiced by her is Lina Inverse.
Love her songs just as much as her characters, so this book was a real treat.
During the 90's I always see Megumi Hayashibara on so many anime credits part on VHS! I was wondering who is she, and why her name is such a staple of so many anima titles of the 90's. Then the internet came out and now I realize she's much bigger than I thought. It's just sad that anime fans these days no longer recognize her.
She is so lucky to voice Nello in the most faithful anime adaptation of A Dog of Flanders, which accurately depicted Nello and Patrasche being found dead in the cathedral. Since she was seven when the 1975 Dog of Flanders started in Japan, she might have watched it in her childhood.
I'm so stoked for this!! She voiced so many of my favs as a child and teen, that I grew up with and from her work on openings and songs I was also so happy to hear she'd reprise her role as Anna in Shaman King.
ありがとうございます。
Legend!
I finished reading it last night and it was a GREAT experience. I've always been a fan of hers and now even more so. I plan to seek out all the anime she's been a part of that I have yet to see that it's possible to see.
Just got the book today, I am enjoying it so far. It’s a very awesome read right now
Megumi Hayashibara is one of my favorite anime seiyuu and my favorite Japanese singer and her speaking in English definitely makes my day.
Loved to hear Hayashibara speaking even a bit of English and appreciated her message as a fantastic actress. I'll check out her book!
Megu-nee, thank you for taking the time to write this most precious memoir and went through the trouble of translating it to English so that international fans of old and new can get a rare in-depth look into your extraordinary life and the accomplishments that followed. Even now, you continue to be a shining role model for all your fellow seiyuus, both veterans and newcomers alike.
You are a credit to your name "Megumi", which means "Blessing". The phrase "天の恵" describes you perfectly, because you are without a doubt a "blessing from the heavens" of our generation. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your hard work and dedication in the realm of voice acting "bows"
To me, you'll always be the "Queen of Voice Acting"
Just start watching ranma again since yesterday (last watched on 2002 and before that in 1990) and glad she is still healthy find this video is blessing, i hope she still can being seiyuu for many characters for upcoming anime
I love Megumi's work. Especially Lina Inverse, Ranma-chan and Ai Haibara.

Dang, she still sounds great AND looks good for 55 (54 in this vid) years old.
Oh my God, too blown away by the English opening. Thank you for making the effort. Huge, huge Slayers fan. Instantly, bought the digital copy and jumped to the Lina Inverse chapter. Looking forward to reading it again to my daughter, Lina. -_^

Nuku Nuku/ Lina Inverse / Rei Ayanami are the reason why I'm her fan since 90's
I can't believe she was born in 1967, she looks like she was 35 years old
Wow her english is great! I am huge fan of Hayashibara! I wanted to find this after people said her english was great, better than the actual english characters in Detective Conan. I hope I can check out her book soon.
何より語彙力がえぐい、この本は一度読んでみてほしいです。
Megumi!!! Greetings from Chile! I love your strength, your charisma, your sympathy, you are just awesome!
My favourite character is Lina Inverse in Slayers, I hope I can read your book soon 🤗 love you! 😘
Shes definitely the GOAT of female voice actress. Her voice is best suited for any smart and beautiful characters
Her most notable roles for me are Ai of detective Conan, the blue haired one in evangelion, Faye valentine, ranma and Young genkai
I became so familiar with her voice that I can easily identify some characters voiced by her without actually looking at it
I wouldn't exactly use GOAT, more like she's a very influential seiyuu for the late '80s and especially the early '90s. Just about everyone who went into this line of work from the '90s onwards owes their success to her, but there are a few exceptions. Masako Nozawa for example, is one of the oldest seiyuu in the industry to this day, she was 31 back in '67 when Megumi was just born, having started voice acting as early as '63, so she's one of the few people who's career was not built on top of hers
@@jackylee5850 And Masako Nozawa is still Goku.
That's because she still insists on working even though she's already 86 now. A seiyuu don't just retire unless they have health/personal issues. They're in this profession for life. Only those seiyuus who couldn't get main roles consistently in their careers would consider getting out of it as they're stuck at the very bottom of the barrel in the industry so to speak, doing only bit roles
Chances are Megumi will likely be just like Masako, will keep working as long as her health holds up. Though you have to admit over the years she has pushed that vocal cord of hers to the limit. That 1st Live concert back in 2017 sure was a workout
You mean Rei Ayanami.
I adore anime so so much especially Pokemon I would go to Japan one day when I get older.
Maririne said she sounded like Polka lol
wow, i:m waiting for shaman king. i did not know about her work biography until now. I:m a fan!
発音良すぎてビビってる、さすがめぐさん❤️❤️
Canaaaaaaal T.T
Dang her English pronunciation is so good 👏
Megumi Hayashibara, the seiyuu of many anime girls, including Lina Inverse from Slayers, Musashi/Jessie from Pokemon, Rei Ayanami from Evangelion, Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop, Rebecca from One Piece, and many more.
I saw this book at a barnes and noble once I didn't;t know it was written by Rei's voice actress that's willldddd I SHOULDVE GOT IT AAA it looked cool no matter who wrote it tho
