Yeah same I think they gave up way too quick. Americas fleet is right on top of Japan. While the Japanese navy is 3 turns away from reaching Japan. America could’ve really destroyed Japan.
I guess, but if you play it right, it can delay Japan for multiple turns in a small war of attrition (small counterattacks with air support on the couple guys Japan drops in)
Very small. Remember, each time Japan takes Calcutta, the factory downgrades and it takes all your money. Meanwhile, it's still gobbling up all your other territories. And if your stack remains in W India, Japan could just safely ignore it and get on with taking Anzac.
David Dorini that’s a pretty clever move I didn’t think of, but I don’t think it’ll prevent the inevitable. So Japan ends up dropping one or two land units in, supported by air units, and used the others to gobble up SE Asia. Then what? The guys in W India can attack (at a 1) and retake Calcutta, just to get destroyed the next turn by the air support and another round of Japanese buildup, and without the Indian units that could otherwise have been built in Calcutta.
