MALDOL HMC - 6S: Multiband 7/21/28/50/144/430 + 14Mhz add on.
MALDOL - HFC 80 - 40 - 20 ( I use daily , work exceptionally well for size).
COMET CHS - 21
HUSTLER Antenna base with: RM-80, RM-40, RM-20, RM-17.
You can never have too many antennas Simon!! Great news about your daughters interest in radio but watch out she’ll take over the shack 😁

Already getting harder to shift her over lol Yes a bit more practical and theory combined and I will book her in. I am trying to go through everything question based and then make her do it in the shack. Not heard of those Japanese Antennas Simon, I'm missing working mobile as I took the 857D out during the 1st lockdown and haven't put it all back in yet, something special about chatting to stations in Siberia, Canada or the USA whilst travelling down the A41 in my little Mini. I started off with the Ampro antenna which are OK for static mobile but switched to the Diamond mobile antennas for use actually driving around, the 20m version is only 1.2m long but have worked a lot of DX on it. Sometimes it's just nice to park up somewhere in the car and doing a bit of radio work and have it sound like I'm back in the 80s noise level wise! I work a triple mag mount with the radio/antenna earthed to the chassis via the car car seat fixing. Best of luck with your broadband issues. Hi James, yes /M is great fun and parked up is often better than the shack lol. The Maldols are cool antenna's and work amazingly well but I believe the Factory took a hit during the Tsunami and production stopped, never heard any other news since. I imagine the Diamond is similar construction, size and design as the Maldols and Comet. All are cool antenna's and as you know from experience work really great hooked up to the FT-857. I still run one and like it a lot. My daughter will be getting some more radio theory after tea lol I don't think it will be too far away when she goes for the exam. Thanks buddy 73
Excellent demonstration Simon. Be careful with those finals in the 817 They blow for no reason. Apparently if the internal battery goes flat and is left in the radio long term without use they just blow. Got my one back from Yaesu recently and a nice little invoice for repair.£150 ouch 😓 Congrats to your YL. No doubt we’ll hear her on the air soon 👍

Impressive collection you’ve gathered there...equally that you’ve managed to keep the same one on your van without taking it off on a car park or low barrier etc for so long 😂

Thanks Mark lol yes the eye has been on the barrier a long time. Its working just as well despite going on several vehicles and three new mounts along the way lol. The others are all like new as 20m still is my favourite mobile band for permanent every day pleasure. 73 have a good weekend buddy

Hey bro! Good stuff. Diamond sells antennas here like those....Maldol(Comet NCG) won't. Don't know why. It's a good design and alternative to Ham Sticks (3/8ths X24 thread).
Nice one bro. The hamsticks work well but are too big for driving. I mainly operate my mobile whilst on the move. The Maldol is very good but sadly don't make them since the 2011 sunami hit Japan
Greetings friends, I need your advice.
I have a station Alinco DX-10 and an antenna Santiago 1200, I have it at home, and since I do not have a chance to make a large assembly I bought a small metal stand and a magnetic base, the metal bracket attach it near the window with some Plastic flanges so that it is well suited.
My problem is that it is impossible to calibrate the antenna and make it go down Roe .. Just lower the Roe when I hold the magnetic base with your hand. So I think there should be a mass problem, any idea?
