She should've went with Barbara. I'm under the impression that Lori does well selling single small items on QVC, and doesn't do many food deals. Barbara is almost always out but when she's in I feel like the business succeeds
Barbara is 100% the best choice for food businesses plus the idea of just replicating the same business model quickly and having a booming truck business in no time should have been more appealing and less risky. Packaging for retail could have come after that if she wanted
I think people are crazy who overlook Barbara yeah she's memed for going out constantly but I feel like she'd be a safe choice since she hardly goes in
She should have countered with asking BOTH Barbara and Lori for 1M total for 50%. Diversify. But I agree....Barbara had the better offer...she was distracted by the 33% vs 50%
So the pandemic killed it, but also they still operate in very limited capacity online now. Pity, I suppose even Barbara's offer wouldn't have survived COVID.
Well most of them have something in common especially Lori here they are all investors, So the best approach I feel is to diversify investments- by spreading investments across different asset classes like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown. That is how I made it out.
I'm on board with having an advisor manage my day-to-day investing because my job doesn't allow me the time to analyze stocks myself. Thankfully, my portfolio has grown 5X in just five years, totaling nearly $1 million after additional investments to date.

Older people are usually expected to pay off through more experience. So ageism would have had the opposite effect. She said she had already thought about retail, so I think it was just a more familiar and understandable business to her.
She was just looking at the 30% vs 50%. Bad choice. IMO, it's currently just 1 store. The whole business isn't even worth $500k. Barbara's offer values just the concept alone at $1m.

For the first time I agree with Barbara… freezing it would be terrible and having it packaged and sitting in a container will just make it lose its texture and taste… plus Starbucks already has oat products unless they undercut their cost by ALOT I don’t think they are letting them in…
8:44 that cheeky expression is why I feel zero sympathy for this girl she completely ignores and dismisses Barbara and goes straight after Lori just because they look similar and heard the word “Starbucks” she deserved every ounce of failure
I enjoy the evolution of the show being that when a shark goes out, they now basically start advocating/negotiating for the person looking for the deal. Kevin is right. She took the bad deal. Freezed oatmeal sounds awful and Lori can’t guarantee Starbucks. The woman came in with what Lori did for another company on her mind and was blinded by that instead of taking Barbara’s deal for 50% of a business that doesn’t even exist yet.
Update: The deal with Lori never closed. She wanted to franchise the business and build out more stores, but she never got the chance. Unfortunately, this business fell victim to the Covid-19 pandemic. They closed their doors on January 24, 2021.
After seeing this video a couple times, it’s sad because Lori’s offer was contingent and Barbara‘s offer was for sure and that Barbara was going to be behind her back through rough times. The owner really picked lousy offer from Lori and this was the reason why Lori backed out becauseoatmeal was already in Starbucks and I’m pretty sure something behind closed doors. Lori noticed it wasn’t a good deal and decided to leave.
I love Lori she is normally the one I would go for. But Barbara had a good idea but taking half is what for her not interested. Barbara should’ve said 30%
I would have asked Lori and barbara to join hands for a total of 650,000 dollars for a total of 30 percent. That way she can work on both the cart business and distribution
That does not make sense. Cart business is way more cash intensive than making a deal with Starbucks. And way more risky and profitable in the long run. Barbara had to do way more managing the cart business than lori only meeting once with Starbucks.
If she was really really smart, she would’ve taken both offers given 33 1/3 of her current business model to Lory and partnership with Barbara on a totally different branch of this business with a 50% partnership. She could’ve walked out of there with $1 million. 😂
Barbara"s deal putting them on carts & selling to Corporate America was genuis, Starbucks already sells oat products
What does it even mean? That only people who (still) work in offices would have access to it?
Yeah but she got greedy should of said a smooth 25 % and she would of made her money back in 2years tops
