I have the same one coming. I’m an experienced metalsmith, well versed with oxy-acetylene, oxy-propane, oxy-air and propane-air and soon, a water torch. Really good overview of the torch and the comments in the comment section are also helpful. I can’t wait to try it on gold and silver. And I’ll be glad to get the big tanks out of the house.
You should use 150 gm of KOH and use the largest orifice that will work. The bottle in the front should be filled with methanol. That will produce a bigger flame that is useful for brazing. Without the methanol, the torch is useless because the flame is so hot that it burns the surface of the metal.

That is generally true, but I think this machine limits the current (I'm not sure). In other home made generators a tiny amount of KOH made a large difference, but not in this case.
To clarify, 25% volume of the dry and wet to one another? Measure one quart of the dry flake electrolyte to three quarts of water for a 25% mix? Do you use distilled water in both the mix and overflow?
The only problem I have with it is safety, HHO does not really exist, what we have is an explosive mixture of H2 and O2, you have a classic fuel and oxidizer mixed together, really the machine should separate both gasses and then remix them in the torch.
This is a type of torch/generator that has been used for literally decades. It was literally the first gas mixture ever used for welding (and the gas produced by electrolysis exactly like this). I assure you, as long as you have a flashback arrestor (the bubbler), it is completely safe to operate assuming all other safety precautions are followed. Absolutely no reason to separate the gasses and remix them. It would just add unnecessary cost and complexity. However, unlike what furulevi stated, it really isn't THAT complicated. It is just a matter of separating the anode and cathode into two separate tanks connected by an electrolyte bridge. Oxygen is formed at the anode, hydrogen at the cathode, already separated with no further work needed. However, even that is simply unnecessary for an application such as this.
@@furulevi Erm no... You just put a tube around the negative terminal for one gas, and the positive for the other. That's secondary school level basic science. A hydrogen fuel cell works in a very different maner.

I have the same machine and you need to add natrium hydroxide to the water tank. This is very important to give the water enough conductivity and the machine will produce more hydrogen gas . I fill the flame arrester / bubbler with water but you can add a small amount off pure alcohol. I believe in the paper that comes with the machine they say 1/3 alcohol then fill the rest with distilled water . The machine will draw around 7 amperes if the solution of water and natrium hydroxide is good. The machine works great and produces a really hot flame. But i would like it to produce more. If i had known i would have bought the 250 model because it has 2 hydrogen generator. But you can do a lot of soldering with this machine 👍😀 I even do brass welding with flux on small parts and it works well 😀. Just don't expect to much if you do bigger stuff . Don't throw away your oxygen/ acetylene burner is my suggestion 😂
You made a mistake with the metal wire. It mustn't get so hot. If it gets too hot, all the carbon in the metal wire burns up. Excessive flame may only act briefly. Too long exposure to the flame will burn the steel. This is very tricky and not so easy to set the correct temperature. Remember HHO flames are much hotter than normal flames. And there are other physical properties. You can easely melt stones with HHO
