    Thank you
I have included some memorable interview clips with Dame Elizabeth Taylor as a guest from the period of circa 1986 through 2006. Please enjoy this series of short interviews as Elizabeth searches her soul and touches upon her personal history, her self image and self esteem, her loved ones and family and always AIDS. She reviews her own personal timeline regarding her battles with AIDS Fundraising and making certain that important people listened. There is a shy quality that we see, far from the zealous characters she has portrayed onscreen. Elizabeth Taylor talks openly and honestly in detailing some of the difficulties that she has survived in life. She is a true survivor in every sense of the word. Upon watching these clips myself, I fell in love with her all over again. She definitely leaves her ego at the front door as she approaches some deep subject matter all in an effort to allow us to know and understand the real Elizabeth Taylor, and not the Elizabeth Taylor we read about in the tabloids. Her honest is refreshing and it suits her so well. Again, enjoy the upcoming, A Few Words clips.
In viewing these short film clips, please donate to the cause that has become Dame Elizabeth Taylors life mission for over two decades. The eradication of AIDS in the world. Until such time, The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation funds programs and organization that give direct care to the population of millions affected with HIV/AIDSwhether it is direct care or related/ associated services. So many people are now living longer with AIDS/HIV due to advances in viral medication technology, but the impact of living a life with AIDS is far reaching. AIDS affects all of us, in one way or another. Generations of young people are not conscious of the 1980s. The face of AIDS has changed since the time when those who were ill were visibly stigmatized, akin to being lepers. Now, those with HIV/AIDS live life among the general population attempting to cope with the disease. Sometimes, silently. Emotionally, the impact is just the same as those first diagnosed. Fear. The only solution is to rid the world of this disease, therefore opening a technological highway aimed to ignite the remedy to so many other diseases as well.
Any amount of time or money will push this development ahead, not behindnever behind!
    Thank you, Richard Bassett

Elizabeth left us all this morning at the age of 79 due to congestive heart failure. My God what a terrible loss ! I have spent the day watching ALL of your videos Richard and I want to add my true thanks to you for all of your hard work and dedication to this marvelous woman. My own Mother actually looked identical to Elizabeth during the 1970's so I felt like I had Liz for a Mom for quite a while there. RIP beautiful Elizabeth, you will be so missed.

RIP Dame Elizabeth on a golden throne in heaven. You did so much as a humanitarian. TY Richard for keeping her memory alive in your work. "Passion is the gate to the soul." That is the way she lived and we salute Dame Elizabeth for all she has done in two decades of work. Many of my friends are still alive because of Elizabeth Taylor. I will honor her all the days of my life. Sleep warm "Angel Eyes."

Oprah's hair is HUGE! But Elizabeth Taylor was always so wonderful. Her generosity towards her AIDS cause speaks volumes about her. Beautiful on the inside and the outside.

I wonder if the whole interview with Oprah is available for upload? ... I remember watching it as a child & I literally have not seen the whole interview again to this day! I know this interview is ranked as Oprah's worst which she has publicly commented on many times & I know these two ladies "made up" & Elizabeth came back on to the Oprah show to do another interview (which is available on UA-cam) ... and Elizabeth apologized for behaving badly during the first interview and said she was in a lot of pain that day ... but I honestly have no idea what she's talking about! That first interview in the parts I've seen always shows Elizabeth seemingly relaxed and fairly forthcoming with details about her life & struggles ... and Oprah seems incredibly uncomfortable for reasons I can't see from the on camera interview. So, I'm guessing Elizabeth must have "behaved badly" off camera in some way? Just one of those mysteries I would love to know more about!

Stay disciplined for six days and have a snack once a week. It becomes routine. I remember that SNL did a lot of Liz' fat jokes with John Belushi as Liz. Funny at the time, not so much now. Thanks for posting these Richard. Lest we forget.

Hi Richard I watched the whole series of clips that you posted and they were more than wonderful. I was wondering if you would put them on DVD because my mother loves Liz but I don't think she'd sit at the computer screen to watch all of these like I did? xx

frankly, when food is your "drug," indulging--pigging out--(once in awhile) is what helps keep you on track...
it's when you try to deprive yourself of those things you really want that you eventually "crash and burn"
