Thank you CSPAN for interviewing Mrs. Toth. Her work is incredibly important beyond just this story. It speaks to a culture of misunderstood children who, as she aptly calls a “ticking time bomb”. I have been substitute teaching recently in Yonkers, NY public school system. I got n trouble for giving classes an assignment to be done during class time because the teacher did not leave lesson plans. I asked the students to write 3 paragraphs using the structure of Introduction, Argument and Conclusion and gave them several topics to choose from:
    1. Is Climate Change a serious issue? Why or why not?
    2. Is the 2 party system of government working? Expand on your answer.
    3. What are the causes for the increase in mass shootings, especially in schools?
    4. Will electric cars help or hurt the environment? Why or why not?
Can you guess which question got me into hot water?

Johnnie Jordan sounds like a horrible, cold-blooded murderer. This woman, however, has one of the most relaxing voices I’ve ever heard and I could listen to her talk about absolutely anything for hours 😂

Gee you think it could've had something to do with the inherent abandonment of being fostered?

"He'd felt caged that gray winter day, and now his mind filled with strange voices, Jordan recalled. They told him to kill.
"It was like a devil. You know how you see the cartoon characters, you know - the good one on this shoulder and the bad one on that shoulder?"
Twice he had walked toward Mrs. Johnson. Twice he'd retreated. Now she had her back turned to him, preparing to do dishes.
"At first I was doing battle with myself," he said. "You know: 'Just hit her on the side of the head,' and this side telling me, 'Don't do it.' It literally drained me. I didn't know what to do. I was confused."
For the third time, he walked toward Mrs. Johnson. This time, he smashed the hatchet into her head. The voices, he said, stopped."

I really wonder about being lulled to sleep by a video that contains such a freaky subject matter. Your mind is at its most vulnerable while you are tired and falling asleep, why open the door to such things?Just something to think about.

She's actually incorrect about his parole eligibility. His sentences all three say, Minimum 30 yrs, 10 yrs, 10 yrs. But the sentences run CONCURRENTLY, not consecutively. So, no, he doesn't have to serve 50 yrs Minimum. He need only serve 30 yrs Minimum, which he is nearly at, now. He won't be 70, he will be 50. According to the Ohio Dept of Corrections, his first eligibility date for parole is in 2026, just two years from now. He's been in since 1996. However, as she said, after serving his entire adult life in prison, and having had a brutal murder conviction, he likely won't be considered for parole.

Too bad the topic is so shitty but she does have a very relaxing voice. And I agree the key is not whispering, it's just having that soothing sound and pronunciation.

I have ASMR and even though her voice is soothing, the story she is telling about the murders is horrendous. Kind of makes you forget the effect of her voice.

I’m only 14 minutes in and I feel like she’s done exceptionally well explaining, with detail, a very complex story of what childhood trauma (in particular) can do. She’s talking about a person not a character in a night time soap.

I really do feel bad for people that can't enjoy this video due to the subject. Doesn't bother me at all, I wrote lyrics in a death metal band for 17 years. I'm hardened to brutal imagery described via written or spoken story.
This is my favorite ASMR video currently, great work!

Johnny was bad, even as a child everybody could tell
Everyone said, "If you don't get straight, you'll surely go to Hell!"
    But Johnny didn't care
He was an outlaw by the time that he was ten years old
He didn't wanna do what he was told
    Just a prankster - A juvenile gangster
His teachers didn't understand, they kicked him out of school
At a tender early age just because
He didn't want to learn things
Had other interests - He liked to burn things
    [Verse 2]
    The lady down the block
She had a radio that Johnny wanted oh so bad
So he took it the first chance he had
And then he shot her in the leg
But this is what she said
    [Chorus]
(He's only a lad) You really can't blame him
(Only a lad) Society made him
(Only a lad) He's our responsibility
    Oh, oh, whoa whoa
(Only a lad) He really couldn't help it
(Only a lad) He didn't want to do it
(Only a lad) He's underprivileged and abused
    Perhaps a little bit confused
Oh, oh, oh, oh whoa whoa whoa
    Whoa whoa whoa
    Oh, whoa whoa whoa
Hey there, Johnnie, ya really don't fool me.
You get away with murder and you think it's funny.
You don't give a damn if you live or if you die. Hey there Johnnie boy
    I HOPE YA FRY!

I'm gonna hit the big time, gonna be a big star someday
Momma came to the door with a tear drop in her eye
Johnny said, Don't cry Momma smile & wave goodbye
