BigBang definitely turned a tide where idols could also be seen as artists. Not that there weren't talented idols before them but just because of the industry and public perception of idols, they weren't seen as artists as much before. Also for a lot of hiphop and rnb artists nowadays they grew up seeing BigBang on tv and on the radio. They got to see rappers who wrote their own stuff being adored by the public so it's not surprising to hear also many non-idol hip hop artists love and respect them.

Proudly ageing with G-Dragon and Taeyang (YES). I always find a pretty different concept group in Bigbang. One of their biggest feats is the fact they did everything before the streaming and SNS era.
I got hooked on S. Korean popular music in 2008. Bi Rain and McMong. To this day I have not been able to get anybody else interested. Was lonely for soooo long. I did not discover Big Bang until 2015 and “Bang, Bang, Bang”. 😭. Luckily later that year an oddball station that aired S. Korean programming at night aired the entire 2015 MAMAs. Three times. Yeah. I didn’t not have the recording option 😭😭😭. That was the most amazing award show and concert I had and have ever seen. I am 71. Big Bang got in my top ten all time favorite groups. Then moved to my top 5. Now my #1. Few over my decades have been able to make me cry when they do a sad song. These guys have because they put their hearts there. It took me awhile to decide who is my favorite member of the 5. Seungri is still a member to me. They are all so very talented in their own way. Each has totally different styles and voices. I finally realized Daesung has a bit of an edge for me. His smile alone lights up rooms, stadiums, and my heart. It is contagious. I wish them joy and happiness.

I got into Bigbang around 2008 when I was in 5th grade.. the first band/group I ever liked and what we’d call it now stanning.. kpop was not known in my country that time.. long story to how I knew but keeping it short people in my town knew Big Bang and some other groups. And those days mostly the guys used to mock kpop but they would always say “except Bigbang” and istgggg when Wedding dress came out every guy was dancing to that song in school functions. Even if people did not know them they knew their songs and liked it. They left a very big mark, even now people will always talk abt Bigbang first when kpop is mentioned. It’s a long way now from 2008, I liked other groups and stan another group now but Big Bang will always be #1 for me in this life. There will be no other like BigBang and for this comeback I am so excited!! Legends are really back.

I completely agree with what Jay Park said. Bigbang songs don’t need a pretty MV (although many of them do since Bigbang have such good aesthetic sense). The songs are so good.
Jay Park is clearly not a fan of kpop groups specially after he was part of one himself. But Bigbang looks to be the exception
After BIGBANG nothing really inticed me into KPop anymore so I barely watched when they got inactive. After that I just went into K-HIPHOP and get to know lots of awesome artists.
The only other group for me was Ikon! 1st Bigbang and the Ikon....
It always feel amazing when I see the vids of GD performing at the Palette tour and the crowd responding and cheering like it was his own concert ✨

Bigbang is legendary! People look up to them and learn from them about performance and music. Still listen to their music on a daily basis and will always support them.
I understand that it may be hard to understand by the latest gen of kpop fans to see how h u g e bigbang is due to long hiatus and back to back scandals. But bigbang will always have that higher place in Kpop scene. They are idol's idol.
No other kpop boyband will ever outshine Bigbang. At least, for me. Been a VIP since 2007. I remember going to Jakarta alone in 2012 to see their BB Alive tour . And when I couldn't find a ticket for Made Tour 2016 in Indonesia, I flew to Bangkok to see it. Well it's not about the money , I saved my salary to see their concert, because that's how good their music to me.

I got hooked on S. Korean popular music in 2008. Bi Rain and McMong. To this day I have not been able to get anybody else interested. Was lonely for soooo long. I did not discover Big Bang until 2015 and “Bang, Bang, Bang”. 😭. Luckily later that year an oddball station that aired S. Korean programming at night aired the entire 2015 MAMAs. Three times. Yeah. I didn’t not have the recording option 😭😭😭. That was the most amazing award show and concert I had and have ever seen. I am 71.
Big Bang got in my top ten all time favorite groups. Then moved to my top 5. Now my #1. Few over my decades have been able to make me cry when they do a sad song. These guys have because they put their hearts there. It took me awhile to decide who is my favorite member of the 5. Seungri is still a member to me. They are all so very talented in their own way. Each has totally different styles and voices. I finally realized Daesung has a bit of an edge for me. His smile alone lights up rooms, stadiums, and my heart. It is contagious.

I got into Bigbang around 2008 when I was in 5th grade.. the first band/group I ever liked and what we’d call it now stanning.. kpop was not known in my country that time.. long story to how I knew but keeping it short people in my town knew Big Bang and some other groups. And those days mostly the guys used to mock kpop but they would always say “except Bigbang” and istgggg when Wedding dress came out every guy was dancing to that song in school functions. Even if people did not know them they knew their songs and liked it. They left a very big mark, even now people will always talk abt Bigbang first when kpop is mentioned.
It’s a long way now from 2008, I liked other groups and stan another group now but Big Bang will always be #1 for me in this life. There will be no other like BigBang and for this comeback I am so excited!! Legends are really back.
Big Bang is the legendary group that artists still mention, compliment, and want to work with even when they've been away from the spotlight for a while.
