This song was such a bop and I didn't realise until now it was Caroline Polachek
Same, and I've been listening to Caroline Polachek a lot after what I thought was discovering her work. When she did the nano commercial song! Things like this make me think Superman's disguises only being glasses isn't as dumb as it looks. You don't always recognize people when you don't expect them because of one little different detail, like a name.

I've listened to this many times over the past 3-4 years but only just now have I listened to it through a nice pair of enclosed headphones.
One standout thing that sounds just incredible about Bruises (over headphones) is that incredibly awesome bass line featured throughout the entire song.

Hundred times I have heard this mystic song. Slowly I realized some treasuries: she sings like a true girl telling lovely things to her boyfriend. The intonation makes me shiver, the boy's voice too. Great tune! Brings back the new wave moods. The synthesizer in the background reminds me the early O.M.D songs, for example the "Almost". But the whole song is a modern, fantastic good one :-) Thanks :-))))

We heard this song while waiting for tickets in Vegas. Instantly fell in love with it... forgot about the song and heard it again while on vacation in another city. I couldn't remember who it was so I used Shazaam. It gets better...we booked a trip to Vegas not knowing Gotye was playing at H.O.B. Guess what? Chairlift opened for Gotye!
