I must say that Chairlift is very underrated by myself. I have never paid much attention to them, but until recently due to Caroline Polachek's fame I have given them a chance and the few singles I've checked are songs that I ve heard several times but that I didn't know it was them, songs that are part of my ecosystem but that I have confused with other many indie artists. You know, the typical ''Oh, I didn't know this song was by them, Oh, I didn't know this other was theirs also''. It had been a curious yet comforting experience.
This is painfully truthful. I discovered them about a week ago (through Caroline's new album "Pang!"). And now im thinking about how i could've listen to this amazing stuff way back in 2009. It fucking kills me, man.
I've listened to this many times over the past 3-4 years but only just now have I listened to it through a nice pair of enclosed headphones. One standout thing that sounds just incredible about Bruises (over headphones) is that incredibly awesome bass line featured throughout the entire song. Love it. Chairlift is so underrated. What a pity.
I think this girl is super talented. I think she sings a little like yael nain on this song. But she re-invents herself on every song, really amazing. I hope this band goes far. Very creative and interesting.

Absolutely delicious pop song. This band, which split 6 years ago, was comparable to the Canadians of Alvvays or the NZ of the Beths. Today, the singer Caroline Polachek has started a solo career and her last LP (Desire, I want to turn into you) is remarkable.
Hundred times I have heard this mystic song. Slowly I realized some treasuries: she sings like a true girl telling lovely things to her boyfriend. The intonation makes me shiver, the boy's voice too. Great tune! Brings back the new wave moods. The synthesizer in the background reminds me the early O.M.D songs, for example the "Almost". But the whole song is a modern, fantastic good one :-) Thanks :-))))

Do doo do do
Do doo do do do
This was my profile song on MySpace for the longestttt when I was in 5th or 6th grade. We’re old lol
I didn't like this when it was new but now it reminds me of happier times. Weird how time changes your opinion on things.

I'm watching from the year 2032, and this song was remade by a teeny-bobber band - it's a big hit
A little late it’s 2033 and it #1 on the chartes
Some bruises never go away...
If you’re elderly
released in 2008, 15 years ago and Caroline is still inspiring nice
To me this was the last era of good music
Far out Chairlift were an underrated band. So sad they broke up.. I did get to see them play a few songs at Parklife Melbourne in 2012 though :)
When I first saw the view count (May 2022) I thought: 3.7 billion, that makes sense. The fact that this is only 3.7 million is unfathomable...
quoting my dad's Aunt's poetry:
A Turkish girl in Zagreb
fell in love and told it
to her beloved
by standing on her hands
by walking on her hands
around the whole floor
before she excitedly threw herself into the bed.
Could I walk on my hands
walked on me hands for you
around the whole living room and across the road
and hit cobblestones front and back
and ate twenty cinnamon buns without juice, water or soda
and limped to Oslo on one leg
-
then you would probably understand
that I loved you?
this has been a terrribly moving song for literally my entire adult life. i will make my kids listen to this song. when they are in their sophomore year of undergrad.
first song of chairlift that I have ever loved. LOVED! 2020 anyone?
Wow... this group is soo awesome.. Just got their album "Something" and can't stop listening.
hi from the future
I had this song in my Nintendo Gameboy xp. Was in middle school and I remember listening to this song in my car on all the road trips I had back then w my family... Remember it as fresh as a strawberry! Aah it's insane how time flies
Saw them in 2009 at a festival. I was front row and I stg Caroline looked me straight in the eyes. Great time
#curtindo muito ....
Depois de anoooooos procurando essa música.... eu achei !!!
I cant wait for their next album, only a month away!
this song and video is so great, that synthesizer solo at the end is amazing
Yup, she is near perfection... and bloody talented as well
The way this song made me feel when I was 15 is indescribable
2020 y todavía me gusta tanto como la primera vez que lo escuché ♥️
I was in 9th grade when this song came out, I remember hearing it in the theaters before they play the movies. I’m 31 now and this song still moves me.
all I hear is white and gold.

A beauty still.

This song never gets old ❤
so beautiful in so many ways, itd be so cool to hang out in a place like that
Who is the guy who starts singing at 2:07? I love his voice!!
Aaron Pfenning, who was in the band, but is no longer; he was dating the singer and they broke-up, so now it's just her and Patrick.
Thank you!
Love this so much
You know how when you buy new MP3 players, some of them have like 5 free songs? Yeah, this was one of those free songs on the MP3 player I got when I was 9. I still love it to this day.
How did I only just find out Caroline Polachek was the singer in this band??
