    Enjoyed the video. Just seeing how you have taught the children how to manage with a garden planting, weeding, watering, gathering and putting things in the freeze! You are definitely a loving mother!!

    To see children play outside reminds me of home. We lived in an old farmhouse with trails and creeks. Such great memories. Loving your videos!

    We all did chores growing up, "many hands make light work" and mostly we had lots of fun together. It made us feel like we were capable and we learned skills, patience and perseverance along the way. I trust you will enjoy your time at your Mama's house in California and return home the better for getting together with your extended family. Travel safely! Anne, Australia 🦘

      If she would enable the thanks option on youtube, I'd donate that way or use the cash-ap would be even better because they'd get 100% of those donations whereas youtube keeps like 30%.

      I'll bet you have ginseng in those woods and there's really good money to be made from hunting ginseng. Plus most people will let you hunt on their land. It's on hillsides. You can also sell moss. Just Google how to ship it and who buys it but I'd seriously be looking into the ginseng hunting. There's only certain months that your allowed to sell it in and I believe that's from the beginning of August to the end of September but I might be wrong. I do know I have a friend whose husband and son go ginseng hunting and the year before last they sold over $30,000.00 worth and they only hunted in the afternoons and weekends and there's just the 2 of them. My grandmother knew how to find it but I don't. In the early spring you can make money finding/selling Morrell mushroom aka dry land fish. My husband (RIP) use to find that and sell it. I know it grows around Poplar trees. Again, you have to know how to package it. I remember in the early 90s he was shipping it to a New York City restaurant and getting $10.00 per pound. I'm not sure how he found out about that restaurant but my guess is the internet.

      @@helenahandbasket3016 my ex-husband used to dig ginseng and there are laws that govern when you are allowed to dig it. I think it has to be a certain size and if you want a good price for what you dig, you need to let it dry really good. You can sell it wet, but it wont be worth much money wet. Also if I remember correctly, it’s best to sell it by the pound and to get a full pound of ginseng is gonna take a while. I think my ex dried his for about 2 months before selling it. I would not recommend anyone depending on ginseng to make much money. In my opinion, it’s a waste of time and also when digging ginseng, you have to be very careful of snakes. God loves you. Jesus loves you and died for you. God bless you always.

    What a fun time! Happy Birthday Tilly! So nice all kids have their own garden beds and all contribute to helping! I know kids enjoy seeing what they planted, grow into something they can eat! Love seeing the ducks and chickens! Hope you have a fun and safe trip to your mama’s house and have fun with your siblings! Sorry to hear of your dad passing, may the Lord be with you and your family and all the happy memories bring you peace.

    I found your channel yesterday and I've been binge watching. Your story and your lifestyle are so inspiring. Please PLEASE create and post an Amazon wish list for your viewers. I don't homeschool so I can't buy your curriculum but I would love to order from a wish list for your family!

    • @singlemomonafarm
      @singlemomonafarm  4 дні тому

      Ok, thanks! I started a wish list but can't think of anything to put on it at the moment. We really have all we need. We're pretty simple. There are some things we want but we can work and earn the money for it ourselves. I feel like if we put a "want" on there then people judge us. Like if I were to pick an expensive coat. People think poor people should get an old coat with a broken zipper, not a fancy new coat. But poor people want warm, good quality coats that will last a long time too. So it's hard to make a wish list. Sure my kids want piano music or matching outfits. My boys would love a nice swimsuit. But they have old ones that work just fine. I'd love a real desk, but this old table that I found in a shed when we moved here works just fine.
      People don't usually want to buy us nice things or extras like that. They're willing to buy toilet paper or canned soup and that's about all. And that's fine. We have all we need. When my business does better I can get those things.
      I'm also hoping to be able to take the kids to historical places like Kitty Hawk, Monticello, Gettysburg, National parks, things like that. I took my older kids but my younger ones weren't born yet. I want them to see these places and gain a love for their country before they're out of the house. I think family car trips are worth the money, even better than stuff. So I wish I could put a hotel stay or ticket to Monticello on the wish list. :)
      Thanks for watching my videos! You're so sweet!

    In regards to gymnastics, if you can find or buy a 4 inch post, you could set low into the grass to practice.
    They are 16.5 ft long normally but 8 or 10 ft is usually an option for fencing.
    Just take the sander to it and seal.

      Yes, we do have a balance beam, I just didn't swing the camera around to show it. It's by the trampoline. Not as good as the one my dad made for me, but it still serves the purpose. I'm sure they'll be doing lots of gymnastics as the Olympics come on!

    • @singlemomonafarm
      @singlemomonafarm  4 дні тому

      I usually rinse off the tomatoes.
      I wash the blueberries and blackberries for sure because there are usually little debris in the buckets.
      I don't wash the cucumbers, squash, zucchini, or pumpkin. Never really occurred to me.

      Thank you so much! Many days the burden feels too great. Especially this past spring as business was extremely slow. But things have picked up this summer so I'm feeling more positive. Hopefully this is the last year that I have to live on $20,000. :) Thank you for your kind words.
