What people forget about Tetsu is that he had Stage 4 cancer at the time of his climb. He was a man at the end of his tether, the very fibers of his life unravelled before his very eyes by an invisible, metastatic threat, who just wanted to make the most of what precious little time he had left on this planet. Testu had terminal cancer according to what I’ve found online. He knew what he was doing may end him. However, he didn’t want to go out in a hospital bed. He always wanted to climb Mt. Fuji in the winter time, which I believe was the last thing on his bucket list before he would pass on very soon after from the cancer. He slipped off the summit based on the video, so he made it to the top, and then slipped a second later, so he completed his bucket list, and then the good lord, or whatever god or deity you believe in, called him home a second later. He went out doing what he loved, not in pain from chemo that he knew wasn’t going to work, as the cancer had progressed too far. May he RIP.

Yeah. I like Ailurus, but shit. I actually found out about Tetsu through a 30 minute coverage of the man and his rather normal life. Apparently he didn't do well academically, hadn't done anything of note, and faced varying degrees of attention on his streams when he was alive, both good and bad. He streamed everything on his daily life. He met up with a fan of his streams. She and he got did something together, lunch I think, and they parted ways. When he got to Fuji, I rooted for him despite knowing how it ended. Learning what I did, I would wonder if he was suicidal or had a death wish. Turns out, from reading this comments, it seems he truly did just slip with no plans on passing that way. It's theorized the goddess of the mounted told him "don't come". He ignored every warning, including from the divine. Even the woman he met with tried to stop him. Overall, ailurus really did a shit job covering Tetsu, insult aside. Everyone went went from supporting his dream to telling him to stop, even through TTS. He perpetuated frostbite in his fingers by taking off his gloves to make sure he was recording and only planned on bringing a small snack to eat, but forgot that at home. I suggest looking for the video, it had mt. Fuji in the title. I'll look for it and edit this. Edit: the video is titled "Falling off Mount Fuji on Live Stream" by Dark Records.
I get shivers every time the intro comes on. You have no idea how you calm my mind. I’m constantly in hurricane mode in my brain. Your videos help distract me from my own morbid reality. 25:55 All the captain had to do was just let the mechanics fix the engine. Not being on-time is better than an engine failure and the plane slamming into something on the ground Edit: I've been given some corrections and insight into the issue and it's a lot more understandable now. Thank you
Even with all the issues with the engine, the plane was accelerating at sufficient rate to reach the take-off speed well before the end of the runway. It was the snow on the runway that slowed them down and caused the crash, not any technical failure. This segment is full of errors, I recommend Wikipedia article.
This was a common problem for planes at this time. They followed the recommended procedure in order to avoid this and would've made it with plenty of speed. Ailurus didn't go into detail with the investigation but it was found out that slush on the runway wasn't a well known problem as it is today. That extra runway they used from reducing the throttle was covered in slush and slowed the plane significantly when they hit it. What's ironic is that you are blaming the captain for his decisions which is exactly what happened when the accident first occurred. The Germans scapegoated the captain due to small decisions before the accident and he was fired due to that publicity. It wouldn't be later that it was discovered that the captain's decisions wouldn't have made a difference in the crash and that the responsibility ultimately came down to the Munich airport officials. It's sad really, that he had to bare the guilt of a crash he couldn't have seen coming and was ridiculed for something he didn't cause. Rest In Peace to Captain James Thain and to all of those that died.
@@RicardoNadejasstill, just cause it had a successful take off,it doesn't mean it would be the same while flying, plan would surely failed in some even worse places, like it is stupid to even think of trying to move a plane with engine error unless pride was too big for this captain to admit that plane wasn't in position to take off
The Manchester United segment is full of errors: 1. It’s BUSBY babes, not Bubsy - named after their coach, Matt Busby 2. They did not have “just a week to play their matches”, that is not how the European cup worked. The plane they were travelling on simply did not have sufficient range to fly directly from Belgrade to Manchester, Munich was just a stop-over to refuel. Also, West Germany was represented by Borussia Dortmund, neither of the Munich clubs were participating. And in any case, MU played the semifinals against AC Milan. 3. While there were issues with the engine, it was not the reason for the crash. The plane was accelerating just fine and would reach the take-off speed well before the end of the runway, however it was slowed down by the snow that was not cleared by the airport authorities. Unfortunately, still prevalent design of the planes of the time, that tail-wheel undercarriage (two wheels in front, one under the tail) were less effected by such conditions, so not enough attention was paid to the cleanup. MU plane was of the more modern design with nose-wheel.
Japan must be full of morbid stories. There has been a Japanese story in many videos of yours and it's very interesting! But also tragic. Keep up the awesome work!
Not really. Japan is a peaceful country so when morbid things happen, for example a mass murderer, it gets traction a lot since stuff like that rarely happens in the country. It's like hearing the recent school shooting and being shocked it happened in Georgia and not in America. You're more shocked it happen in this place than it happened at all.

@Otto_Von_Beansmarck it's not broken or anything, I think I just sprained it pretty hard, hurts like absolute hell anytime I stand for too long though, will probably take some Tylenol in the morning to help
@BudewFan_ Tricked myself, was wearing a decently spooky costume and had a younger guy walk up and ask me to chase his sisters to scare them so I did (what else was I to do?) and didn't feel it until after I got home and sat down for a minute.
I think tetsu knew he likely wasn’t gonna make it off the mountain alive. He had stage 4 cancer, and was in no condition to climb Mt. Fuji in the winter climate. He also didn’t bring several nessecary survival items despite having previous experience. I think he wanted to die on his own terms in a place where he felt comfortable.
The case of Elizabeth and Alyssa sure is flat out depressing. Sidenote but this reminded me that I really hope we will see a bunch of genuine advancements in the medications department when it comes to treating depression & other mental illnesses. I say that because at one point I experienced what our current antidepressants & other meds were like and they absolutely sucked.. I swear they don't even know if these meds actually help but they easily prescribe them anyway. Most of those meds don't even help but they definitely add on a whole new set of side effects.. You feel unpleasant, weird, spacey, dizzy sometimes. You just feel uncomfortable overall. I just at least hope that we will see medicine and researchers find ways to discover new treatments and that those medications could at least provide the patient with some form of relief. I just know that our current medication options is not the way to go..
I feel you, I got prescriped with 2, the last one was prozac, I think it only made it easier to hide depression from people, but not anger, it dosen't seem worth it to use them
It's sad that prescriptions often get done so carelessly by doctors. Idk how it is in the US, but if there's no follow-up check-up to see how the drugs are affecting you, or the doctors don't listen to concerning side-effects, medicine can really mess you up... I've had a 200mg daily prescription of Sertraline (An antidepressant sometimes used to manage anxiety disorders as well) for nearly 6 years now, and it indeed has helped me with managing the worst of my Anxiety, but medical drugs can have widely different effects on different people, so proper observation is a must with prescription drugs...
This is the case for a lot of medication. But as she said herself, she wasn't taking them. It has nothing to do with what she did. I take immuno supressor, and pills for chronic back pain. I took anti depressor once from 2000 to 2002, and it wasn't pleasant but it helped me out of my burnout. In Alyssa's case, she surely have some kind of personality disorder, but since she was 15, she was too young to get an official diagnostic.
as soon as i saw the first section of the japanese mt fuji hiker, i instantly knew what it was, may his soul rest in piece man, what an horrific way to go

I firmly believe that joking about people who've passed is the best way to keep their memory live, but thats to a point. We don't mock how someone died. Tetsu's only crime was being overzealous.

In the interrogation of Elissa I absolutely loved seeing the moment the police got her in an “oh shit” moment. She had a diary, she wrote in diary about murdering Elizabeth and then scribbled it out and her face when the interrogator just went “you know when you scribble something out in a diary, we have methods of finding out what you scribbled out.”
Correction: @7:56 hot air balloons have zero control over the direction of travel. The only slight control the pilots get is going up or down to different air currents, but these travel in similar directions, giving you a very limited degree of lateral control. If wind direction changes significantly with altitude, the conditions are not suitable for flying and the balloon should be grounded. Balloon pilots spend hours before each flight consulting dozens of different air speed forecasts and charts, as well as in the field observations to make to make sure they have a general idea of where their course will take them, but this can change at a moments notice if the winds change, hence why you always try to plan your course over an area that has lots of open fields in a cone from the launch point. But once you launch, you are at the mercy of the winds and just gotta hope accuweather was accurate that day. Source: I worked with a hot air balloon ground crew for 6 years and helped with nearly 300 flights
As an aircraft mechanic, the Manchester story is a good example as why pilots need to listen to us when we say it's not safe. Sounds like there was a faulty magneto causing an excessively rich fuel mixture (more fuel than air), and the slush being kicked up caused the engine to invest FOD (foreign object debris), which could've damaged the propeller and the governor (controls the speed of the propeller). May all of those who died rest easy. (Edit for typos)

Oh. My. GOD. I’m horrified. Not only was that image traumatising to my 11-yr-old past self (as it probably was to many others) But now I have just found out that it is linked to this chilling case. Wow. Just when I thought MARIO couldn’t get any scarier, I was proven wrong. That horrible, pure nightmare fuel deep-fried image is actually the face of a stone-cold murderer…
@@peoplebro_1294 Oh, nevermind lol, the scariness factor of MARIO has been taken down a peg. So much for that… It would’ve been DIABOLICALLY devilish if this frozen-hearted psycho killer was the Victim 1 lady, but whatever I suppose.
The first story there’s a lot of things that change it from an over confident man doing something stupid to actually really depressing. He was experienced in hiking as you said he’d scaled Fuji multiple times, he knew what to do he understood a lot more than the video says. He had recently received a stage 4 cancer diagnosis and it’s very commonly believed he actually purposely went up there to end it. He obviously slipped and died via that but we think he knew when he went up he wasn’t coming down maybe not in the way he originally planned but he had purposely under prepared himself for the hike. Streaming climbing up was another distraction.
Tetsu’s story is a profound reminder of the strength and determination some people show in the face of terminal illness. Climbing with Stage 4 cancer speaks to his courage and his desire to live fully, even as his body was succumbing to an invisible threat. For him, the climb was more than just a physical endeavor-it was a way to reclaim agency, to push back against the relentless progression of his illness, and to find moments of transcendence amidst unimaginable suffering.
While listening to the story of the murder of Elizabeth, I was thinking that Elisa looked pretty. You can tell how I was stretching away from that as the story went on

@ Thank you. for all of the insight. I didn’t realize I spelled hi name wrong, I fixed that.
I get shivers every time the intro comes on. You have no idea how you calm my mind. I’m constantly in hurricane mode in my brain. Your videos help distract me from my own morbid reality. Disclaimer however, i have my deepest sympathies for all the victims involved in all your videos. I have a lot of empathy and distress for them. I don’t obsess over these videos for the gore but for the education and awareness it gives me. ❤ thank you Ailurus for the effort you have made in making these videos. When i get paid imma defo send moneys your way 😭🫂.
UA-cam does a bad job pushing your content to my frontpage but I'm so happy whenever I revisit your channel. I already use reddit but I love the extra context you give to everything along with your great narration. Been a fan for a while, keep up the great work
You are such a good narrator, you and The Librarian are some of the channels I like the most for sure.
25:55 All the captain had to do was just let the mechanics fix the engine. Not being on-time is better than an engine failure and the plane slamming into something on the ground
Edit: I've been given some corrections and insight into the issue and it's a lot more understandable now. Thank you
Even with all the issues with the engine, the plane was accelerating at sufficient rate to reach the take-off speed well before the end of the runway.
@@RicardoNadejasstill, just cause it had a successful take off,it doesn't mean it would be the same while flying, plan would surely failed in some even worse places, like it is stupid to even think of trying to move a plane with engine error unless pride was too big for this captain to admit that plane wasn't in position to take off
Imagine going to a hiking trail just for you to lose your life thats actually haunting
Hiking can be very dangerous
He had stage four cancer... I suspect it was a passive suicide attempt.
The Manchester United segment is full of errors:
1. It’s BUSBY babes, not Bubsy - named after their coach, Matt Busby
Funny how he doesn't heart this but hearts the waffle and meatridinh comments
@@weakestlifeenjoyer228there's a lot of comments he probably just didn't see it
Japan must be full of morbid stories.
You should check out the SOS incident of Mt. Asahi
finally one that isn't age restricted
It’s bc ur early
Not for long.
enjoy it while it lasts, maybe download a copy.

Hurt my leg pretty bad while out Halloweenering, laying down to watch this and stretch my leg some so it can heal on my day off tomorrow, happy Halloween folks!
Good luck! hope it heals well, I'll be praying for you top sigma
@Otto_Von_Beansmarck it's not broken or anything, I think I just sprained it pretty hard, hurts like absolute hell anytime I stand for too long though, will probably take some Tylenol in the morning to help
You got tricked instead of treated, I assume?
@BudewFan_ Tricked myself, was wearing a decently spooky costume and had a younger guy walk up and ask me to chase his sisters to scare them so I did (what else was I to do?) and didn't feel it until after I got home and sat down for a minute.
@ oof! Hope you get better soon man
I think tetsu knew he likely wasn’t gonna make it off the mountain alive. He had stage 4 cancer, and was in no condition to climb Mt. Fuji in the winter climate. He also didn’t bring several nessecary survival items despite having previous experience. I think he wanted to die on his own terms in a place where he felt comfortable.
A post Halloween treat. Makes the incoming onslaught of Christmas easier to swallow 😂
Bro sounds like a well educated Chris griffin
Stoppp I can’t unhear it
as soon as i saw the first section of the japanese mt fuji hiker, i instantly knew what it was, may his soul rest in piece man, what an horrific way to go
I respect that Tetsu went out on his own terms, not of the stage 4 cancer he was diagnosed with.
Never thought my home town would have a connection to your channel after following you for years. I live in a town in England called Dudley, we don’t have many famous people who have originated from our town with the exception of James whale (the director of Frankenstein and the invisible man) and Duncan Edwards, one of the busby babes. Duncan Edward’s was only 21 years old when he died and was expected that if he’d had a future in the sport he would have evolved in to one of the greatest English footballers in history. My family owns a pub in Dudley with his portrait painted on the back wall by the bar and a statue of him stands in the middle of our town, thank you so much for covering the story of those young men lost too soon
“it’s almost like coming to grips with our morbid reality is a task fit for no one” 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Ailurus insulted Tetsu, the dying climbing enthusiast way more than the child killer psychopath. L moment
Insulting her feels a little too light hearted for the murder of a child
@@SuperChez_ Yeah but he went hard on Tetsu out of nowhere when the dude was already dying & wanted to die doing what he liked the most, meanwhile he barely said anything bad against the psycho chick, just felt like that energy could've been directed there.
@@calliastah4115 I ALWAYS had an issue with Ailurus, especially his now defunked iamaPOS series...Bro literally acted like non-offending pedophiles should have violence insighted on them, and SURE, while aggressiveness MAY help some non-offending pedophiles get the help they need, more likely than NOT, they will think everyone ELSE are after them...Offending pedophiles I understand...But non-offending pedophiles NEED help BEFORE they do anything they'll regret...Ailurus acting like an edgelord in front of an audience of thousands is NOT a good look.
Always a pleasure listening to these stories during night shift, it makes everything much more morbid.
It must be agony for smokejumpers, who professionally jump out of planes and parachute into remote areas to fight fire and have to train so carefully, using a regular and backup chute, to watch people cluster ballooning.
I literally saw an Alyssa Bustamante fan account on Pinterest and TikTok abt a week ago, our society is truly fucked up
I keep seeing them on tumblr too, literally ONLY because she looks like a genetic scene chick who killed someone, not because of genuine interest
YEEEAAHHHHH MY FAVORITE SERIES ON MY FAVORITE DAY THANK YYYOOUUUU HOPE YOURE DOING WELL MAN
I think you missed one of the most important details about the ballooning story, he was never taught how to use the gps he was given and he tried to make a frantic call down to people trying to use the gps tracker
Watching this right after Halloween at night scared me
Ngl that thumbnail is the freakiest one you’ve made

As a previous hiker - SKIP Fuji.
It’s truly more of a nightmare than a once in a lifetime experience.
Always happy to see you upload, PD! 💛
I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into this video and it was awesome!
r/MorbidReality and Halloween go together like Marshmallows and Hot Chocolate. Thank you.
I've been waiting so long for another one of those, thank you
I firmly believe that joking about people who've passed is the best way to keep their memory live, but thats to a point. We don't mock how someone died. Tetsu's only crime was being overzealous.
d'ah, sleep is a waste of time anyway
(grabs popcorn)
I didn’t go trick or treating, but I did go to a climbing gym dressed as Peter Griffin.
sorting thru the Halloween haul with a new morbid reality video is so dubs
Just cuz something is dangerous doesn't mean it's a sport. Extreme ballooning is stupid and dangerous. But nothing about it is a sport
You know it’s kinda ironic hearing that it’s only allowed to hike Mt Fuji during the summer when right now there’s no snow at all and we’re well into fall
Better than the rest. I’ve heard all these stories before, but damn Ailurus, you’re good! Super entertaining with that panda daddy storytelling prowess. Well worth the wait. 👍🏼😍🎙️
We NEED MORE of these please
we love that midnight upload

Happy late Halloween ailurus! Been enjoying your morbid reality videos, and it’s oddly satisfying and interesting to me. But yeah, cheers dude
20:21 ah yes because the girl with the social media profiles are the edgiest shit ever known.
just SCREAMS "im a pretty pretty innocent dorky girl"
In the interrogation of Elissa I absolutely loved seeing the moment the police got her in an “oh shit” moment. She had a diary, she wrote in diary about murdering Elizabeth and then scribbled it out and her face when the interrogator just went “you know when you scribble something out in a diary, we have methods of finding out what you scribbled out.”
I never thought I’d see the day that Manchester United would be featured on Morbid Reality

One of my favorite series on creepy UA-cam. Also such a great intro!
My friend jumped off his roof with a blanket n broke his back but was too afraid to tell his parents so he just hid it as a kid n grew up with it- so obviously it’s fucked for life lol
I know you’re not very well known for collaborations, or had any at all, but you and Mr. Ballen are extremely talented at telling stories and providing all details with interest keeping the viewership, and it would be awesome if you guys made a video together
Tetsu was a man on a very specified journey that only a few understand may he rest in peace and may he find the peacefulness he was searching for
22:19 this is the origin of the mario creepypasta picture
Oh. My. GOD. I’m horrified.
Not only was that image traumatising to my 11-yr-old past self (as it probably was to many others)
But now I have just found out that it is linked to this chilling case.
Wow. Just when I thought MARIO couldn’t get any scarier, I was proven wrong. That horrible, pure nightmare fuel deep-fried image is actually the face of a stone-cold murderer…
Wasnt it a photo of a vkei cosplayer? Im pretty sure they cosplay a member from dir en grey
@KnivesOfSorrow oh right, it was I must be thinking of the creepypasta that tried copying it but ended up being taken down.

Oh, nevermind lol, the scariness factor of MARIO has been taken down a peg. So much for that…
It would’ve been DIABOLICALLY devilish if this frozen-hearted psycho killer was the Victim 1 lady, but whatever I suppose.

Damn, I hate being in Eastern Standard time so I'm getting this on November 1st instead of Halloween
Same timezone hell yea
my favourite series on youtube by far
The first story there’s a lot of things that change it from an over confident man doing something stupid to actually really depressing. He was experienced in hiking as you said he’d scaled Fuji multiple times, he knew what to do he understood a lot more than the video says. He had recently received a stage 4 cancer diagnosis and it’s very commonly believed he actually purposely went up there to end it. He obviously slipped and died via that but we think he knew when he went up he wasn’t coming down maybe not in the way he originally planned but he had purposely under prepared himself for the hike. Streaming climbing up was another distraction.
Morbid is by far the best series you do
lets go ailurus dropped a new morbid reality vid
“Bad decisions make bad stories” could that be a Sober to death/car seat headrest reference?
Album came out 9 years after the murder. She did make reference to “It was written in blood” by BMTH (when they were good)
@ ah yes but the original MTM came out in 2011 the 2018 version is FTF the reworked version
