I agree with you Mason and I have been staying away from Achane in Dynasty. I would like to point out that Dunn averaged 15+ppr points 4 years in a row, 2003 was your cutoff which was the 4th year of Dunn's streak. He did have more receiving yards than Achane though as you mentioned, but it's possible that goes up for Achane
@zacharycarvalho1383 It’s hard to see the Dolphins going away from Achane. If health is the question, they would’ve moved off Tua first. I love his situation and how the offense is built around him. I think they might try to get a Braelon Allen type RB to get more goal-line work, but he’s in a great spot to keep succeeding imo
I like the skill set that Achane has, got him in at the 2.02 in last years rookie draft, but the durability does worry me. I would be perfectly fine with moving him for a mid first.
LOVE this take. Traded Achane for the 1.04 and (probably) a top 2 pick next year, call it an early 2025 1st. Flipped the 1.04 for the 1.07 and the 2.01. -League info- Start 10(3IDP) half PPR/ 1 QB My QB’s are Mahomes/A.Rich My RB’s are Bijan/breece/etienne/warren/spears WR’s are G.Wilson/Pittman/Evans/Diggs/Hollywood/D.Johnson My TE’s are Laporta/Jonnu. 2 years ago i finished dead last, last year i finished 8th. I have 0 players from my original draft in 2022. Completely flipped the team on its head with close to 25 trades.
The issue with “selling” players is the notion of a liquid market. I would be very open to selling players but my league is trade-shy. This is great advise but of course you need to apply your league logic to the feedback
I’m a dynasty super flex TEP startup, would you rather build around elite WR or elite RB as your main skill position? Curious what the flock thinks about this.
Definitely WR. An elite RB one year could be replaced in 3 years whereas if an elite wr falls off in 3 years they will still get a much larger opportunity and realistically they’re window is 5-10 years so it’s a safer pick.
WRs tend have have longer careers so for dynasty it logically makes sense to build the WR core you want and then target RBs once ready to compete for playoffs/championships
Wr first. In fact until you know you are competing I wouldn't commit to any rb outside of the top 3, if you smash one in the draft sell it to aquire more picks or a wr and just keep doing that till you compete.
I think it's just a tool to assess your team in a different way and not to focus too much on the young RBs. There is better value in other positions. Obviously you need RBs, but don't put a lot of stock in them not trade other pieces for them hoping they go up in value
Given how actual NFL teams are valuing RB at the moment it’s not horrible at all. If you are contending you can always just buy an aging veteran producing RB for relatively cheap in season and not harbor all that risk of rostering RB since they are the most volatile position
100% agreed. I was a Achane guy going into last season but after seeing how this coach wants to run these RBs last season, I will be surprised if they didn’t draft someone like Isaac Guerrero who is a last back who is a good fit for their zone running scheme as apart of their committee
10 team dynasty SF. I have pick 1.03 and my QBs are purdy, Watson, Pickett, Howell. Wrs are chase, London, Hollywood, Godwin, wicks, QJ, Dhop. RBs are Hall, Conner, Hubbard, Dameon pierce. Start 2 wr 2 rb 3 flex and a sf. Should I take a qb at 1.03 or nabers who I’ve been leaning towards? Any general roster guidance would be much appreciated
Knew this video was about Achane as soon as I saw the title. Love ya Mason but you’ve been hating on Achane from day 1. It’s that Longhorn in you, you’re blinded.
I wanted Charbonnet last season but luckily didnt pick high enough to get him at 5 so I went with Dalton Kinkaid. I have the 7th pick in our 24 draft and Im seriously considering taking Bowers.
Im seriously getting sick of drafting RBs in dynasty. The last 3 I drafted were Jaylen Warren, Javonte W and Dobbins and clearly they've all been useless. Warren and Williams had some games in 23 but nothing that put me over the top.
Idk achane is one a very few players that have the ability to put up absolutely crooked numbers in fantasy. The only thing keeping him from it is his ability to stay healthy. Name another “league winner” that you can get for a late first, they don’t exist, bad time to sell achane when early season after he puts up 20+ point games, you will wish you could buy him back for what you got just months earlier. I always look to sell rbs, but Achane has the ability to be a cheat code, can’t over look that and sell him for an early 2nd
I honestly sell any RB. Sold Nick Chubb at the beginning of last season for a haul. I had no idea that he'd get hurt, but I know RB is a position that sees tons of injuries. I'd rather a pick that will retain value over a RB that is bound to decline in value due to age and injuries.
I’m gonna try to sell Achane only cause I’m in desperate need of a QB2. If I had a 2nd QB I’d be holding and hoping he stays healthy to push for a championship.
so are we just not going to count CMC as a rb because he averages 47.5 receiving yards per game in is career? To throw Sproles off the list when he finished as RB10 and RB14 in this years is ridiculous and just bending the stats to your argument. Achane is used in a similar way with high value touches. If he got over 15 touches in a game he averaged 18.5 PPR PPG. It doesn't matter how you get the points and he has a 32 year old RB ahead of him. I get the concern but discrediting receiving stats of an RB and calling them a WR is a poor argument.
@@WillSkateForMoney1if Achane was a late 3rd rookie or waiver pick, you need to decide is the juice worth the squeeze - whether it’s to trade him or keep him. I’m keeping.
He was 193lbs by beginning of last season because he ran track in college. Gibbs is 200lbs. Achane is gonna crush it this year, RB5 or better, Book it,
I’ve been saying this from the beginning boys.. Achane will never be an elite RB for fantasy or the NFL. Never liked his profile and definitely didn’t buy into what he did last year. It actually disgusts me that he’s going in round 2. I literally saw someone take Achane at the front end of round 2 the other day. OVER, guys like Jonathan Taylor, Saquon Barkley, or Breece FREAKIN HALL. Like what are these guys thinking!? Do they legitimately think that Achane is BETTER than those guys!? That blows my mind.. Achane should be going in round 8-10 in my opinion. But the fact that Achane is even being talked about in the vicinity of those guys is ridiculous in my opinion.
If you watch him play you’ll see why he’s being valued this high. He’s a cheat code when he’s on the field. Not saying I agree with his value but I can see why people are this high on him.

Since you’re staying in the top 6 and getting Achane I would totally do that.
No brainer* unless u want someone at 4.
take it. Achane is too good at that price.

Plot twist. Mason wants more achane on his team so he has to lower the price to pick him up.
Even if you anticipate Achane missing a few games, isn’t the WoRP when you know he’s available likely worth it?

I think it's just a tool to assess your team in a different way and not to focus too much on the young RBs. There is better value in other positions. Obviously you need RBs, but don't put a lot of stock in them not trade other pieces for them hoping they go up in value
