What happened to the modern day running back? I did a quick check on some of the old 3 down backs and learned that Emmitt Smith played for 15 years, Walter Payton 13 years and John Riggins played from 1971- 1985. Riggins also led the league in touchdowns when he was 34 and he also led the league in yards at 35 years old.
@@Dynastyflock How is it a different sport? They played in all kinds of weather, they played against head hunting linebackers and they also played with inferior equipment. But other than that, the field has always been a hundred yards. If a running back from yesterday ran for a thousand yards he earned every one of them.
For one, the average weight of an nfl linebacker is about 20 pounds heavier, plus they are way faster and stronger. In many cases even the lineman are faster. A second factor that is mostly my opinion but rbs back then didn’t have the twitch and juke abilities they do now which makes ligament injuries a higher risk
Main League: Hurts CMC Henry Puka AJ Brown Deebo Kelce D. Adams Rhamondre Zeke Ekeler Kupp Diontae Shultz Hard to sell, those veterans might retire in my team 🫠
Mason - it’s hard to bet against both Mostert and Achane. It would be extremely difficult for a single RB not to return value in Miami. It’s likely either Mostert is an outlier with his age or Achane is an outlier with his size and volume/usage. It’s possible both miss expectations, and you can thread the needle anticipating both miss. Seems tho that Achane upside and week breaking ability makes him a target not a sell.
This is useful information The only flaw I see is you don’t give a look at the teams success that each of these rbs played for Example, CMC He’s had great years playing for Super Bowl contender team with Trent Williams. If Trent Williams is no longer on 49ers then cmc would be expected to drop in production but this isn’t bcs of his age. There’s further ways to evaluate each case besides age
Tiki, Forte, Faulk.. what do they have in common.. all had very good receiving numbers as well. CMC, Saquan, Mixon, Aaron Jones, Kamara.. guys like that can keep producing into their 27-29yo seasons bcuz of their yearly receiving production. Derrick Henry.. he would be dead if it weren’t for his huge TD upside on the Ravens
@@adamhodgson7174 One of the things I go evaluate when trading guys away is: do they have a path to becoming a good fantasy WR? With Downs I don't think so. They just signed Pittman to a huge extension, there are rumors that they want to draft a WR, and AR doesn't command a ton of passing volume.
12 team super flex, rebuilding team that over-performed last year Traded CMC for a 25 first (late), a 25 second (late) and tyjae spears. Was it worth it?
That’s cheap for CMC. I think you could have gotten more in season. Especially considering it’s a projected late 25 1st. That deal is always on the table. But you do risk a cmc injury if you go into season with him. Overall it’s fine. Sometimes you gotta take less value when rebuilding
Thanks for the replies. This trade was made right before the deadline last season btw. Before pollard to the titans happened. I had been shopping CMC all year, no one was biting and he was keeping my sorry team from a high draft pick. Definitely feel I took less value than he’s worth but also he was just gonna rot on my team and 25ppg me to mid round picks every year.
@dynastyflock Last year you had a very good video about the draft prospects and their overall scores in your ranking system compared to previous draft prospects, are you making a 2024 version for this years draft?
"Raheem Mostert has reached 15+ mph on 32.5% of his runs in 2023, the highest rate among RB (min. 100 rushes)" Anomaly, but he won my season. Mostert could be the first 32 year old to hit that metric of 16+ppg.
I won last year and have a great shot for the Empire pot this year. I’ve been offered Chase + McCaffrey vs my Lamb + JT. I have a really great WR room with Lamb, Garret Wilson, Naber, Adams, Drake and RBs are Gibbs, Taylor, Mostert, Warren. Would you make that trade to get Chase and McCaffrey? Thanks and awesome content

If you are going back to 1971 you are looking at a different sport. That's over 50 years ago

This is is why I am not rushing to sell achane
I think Mostert had like 40 total carries in his first 4 or 5 seasons...

Not looking good for my team. Got CMC, Kamara, Henry, and Conner. Need to get the chip before my backs fall off.
Thanks for the info sir 👍
