Thanks so much Ahmui for taking the trouble to let us know. We’re really happy you enjoyed this recipe. We have another Sambal chilli recipe coming up. It’s slightly different from this recipe. Try it and let us know what you think. Happy cooking & have a wonderful weekend!
@@spicenpans welcome my brother.. as such hard now to find sambal like makcik2 kampung now..i already can find tis sambal in katong place bedok and seacorse☺️
Is this the same sambal for nasi lemak? I think my timing really sucks! Always studying your recipes late at night when everybody is in bed... ending up going to bed so hungry. Good job with all the delicious n easy to follow recipes.
Hola Jamie, i would appreciate if u could suggest a substitute for belachan..Can i use salted anchovi and jst fried it. I can't find it here in Madrid...not even from the Chinese stores here. I love sambal chilli sauce. Thanks for this video.
Wow. Good to know that you look Sambal chilli too. Do the Chinese stores near you sell Lee Kum Kee Shrimp Sauce? You can Google for a picture of it to see how it looks like. It comes in a glass bottle. Amazon sells it.
Hi Gillian. Unfortunately not. Hihi Tae. So so sorry for our late reply. We liked this with mee goreng. The other one is good for prawn noodles or fishball noodles. Yum! Thanks so much for watching our videos.
Hi hope25, so sorry for our late reply. We used to add a lot of oil before we started to use Magimix because our old blender couldn't move at all with all the ingredients. Magimix is very powerful so you don't have to add too much liquid to it when you blend the ingredients. Hope this helps to give you a better idea. Happy shopping!
@@spicenpans Thank you for the reply. Please keep sharing your recipes with us. They are so easy to follow. I have tried some and they turned out great. Your presentation style as of late is the best; ingredients to the pan, if you know what I mean. Keep it up and Gong Xi Fa Chai...
Hi😋 Depending on how spicy you want the chilli to be, between 4-8 tbsps. I suggest you mix the chilli powder with some water to form a paste first before frying them. ~ Roland
Hi can you please list the ingredients below for me because I’m not understanding what some of spices are thank you I would like to try it Thank you Deb Tink
Hihi Say L. You should be able to get dried chilli from your local supermarket. I have seen them being sold on amazon too. If you can’t find similar dried chilli that we used in the video, you can get other types of dried chilli you can get from the supermarket. However take note that some of those chilli may be a little spicy so you may wanna try a small batch first to gauge. Happy cooking!
Hi Ho Sari, you're absolutely right. Nothing beats the traditional mortar and pestle but thanks to technology, we have grown lazy :pppp Using a blender really makes life much easier. :-) Have a wonderful weekend!
Hihi. Nasi lemak chilli is sweeter. Technically you can use most part of this recipe. Just add more sugar. If you like, you can add some ikan bilis too. Will be really yummy.
Hello! 2 quick questions 1. Can the sambal be stored in a jar at room temp or must be in fridge? 2. Where can i find tamarind juice/paste? Ntuc have? Thanks much!
Hihi. As homemade chilli doesn’t contain preservatives, by storing the chilli in the fridge, you can extend the lifespan of it. As for tamarind, you can get it from the supermarket. It comes in a pack - look like this halalmarket.sg/product/orchid-tamarind-asam-jawa/
If you have...only simple tools..like..stone Crusher...for crushing the sambal...become..mixed and tender..try to do it the Methode...reversed...sauted all the Ingredients...in a mediium heat ..first...to make it tender...then crush it...or blender it .!!
+Lala Loom Hihi. This is almost Nasi Lemak sambal but it's just missing one main ingredient - dried shrimps. So when you're blending the Chilli, you can add 1 tablespoon of dried shrimps (soaked)

Idk. But i think the taste is different if u use a blender and u are using mortar and pestle. I think the latter taste better.
