- I only have 8 hours in the game yet somehow im pulling crazy manuevers and surviving way longer than I should.
Flying is in my blood.

Fun video to watch, but here’s a few tips from a more experienced player:
1. Use some flaps for takeoff, it will not always be necessary, but if you have wind on and the CV is moving downwind, it will save you. Additionally, it gives more breathing room for heavy strike loads.
2. When evading Fox 3 (Active Radar Homing), driving down like how you did is good, but if your missile has already gone pit bull or you have to evade, turn 90 degrees to the locking aircraft if not pit bull and 90 degrees to the missile otherwise and drop chaff. You might be able to notch the missile and break the lock entirely. Cover is always better, but sometimes you can’t do that because you’re fighting over the ocean.
3. When a Fox 2 (Infrared Homing) missile is locked onto you, drop your throttle at least out of afterburner. The lower heat signature will make it easier for the missile to lock onto the flares.
4. In the MFD home page, there are two spots (CMS) and (Equip for not F-45/SMS for F-45) where some cool things are. The CMS allows you to set flare and chaff ripple time, I don’t use it much, but most people do. In the Equip menu, select your Fox 2 (AIM 9 or AIRS-T, the latter is better) and then head track on. I also recommend turning on the other setting, which allows you to hold a lock with the trigger and only fire when you push the weapon switch button.
5. You can track multiple targets at once, and use this to quickly lock and shoot at 4 targets simultaneously. You can momentarily lock and shoot, then switch targets.
6. Because it would be way too long for an already ridiculously long comment to add the other ways to evade missiles, watch a tutorial on missile evasion in VTOL VR.
