- Welcome to my first solo movie discussion/review.
Today we’re gonna be looking at the new Osgood Perkins movie Longlegs ! A dark mystery thriller which has been getting some rave reviews by critics but mixed reviews from fans, I’ve been excited to talk about this since I left the cinema and have been working on this video the last few days as I really just want to share my thoughts on it as I loved it so much and just want to record my initial thoughts on it !
What did you think of the movie ? Let me know in the comments below !

1/13 is the date of the last murders…lee’s birthday is also 1/14 and he visited her on 1/13 initially
I'm glad you did this review. A nice, fresh take ✨️
Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed the video
Good work on the video. I just saw it and while I enjoyed a lot at it, there were parts I feel I missed, so it was good to have you break it down like this.
Thanks 🙏 yeah it really stuck with me and I felt I’d really like to make a video on it whilst it was fresh in my mind still, I’m glad you enjoyed the movie and my video !
Brilliant ❤ thank you for this video !! I really did enjoy this film 🎥
Thank you ! Yeah it was great 😊 glad you enjoyed the video ! ❤
if they make a longlegs prequel about dale, i feel like it should be called longlegs: master of puppets…like he might not be making PUPPETS but that’s essentially what it is, and Metallica isn’t really glam rock i don’t think but i feel like it would still fit and make sense
Nice video
Thanks man hope you enjoyed !
While i loved the cinematography and way of story telling, I feel the movie unfortunately falls flat in the 'story' sector. The ending had such little pay off, just to come down to this unfulfilling mystic answer. I know it's a satanic movie at the end of the day but wish it didnt end so flatly. I wouldn't watch again BUT i think theres something to learn on how to build tension in the way you tell a story AND how to capture it.
Yeah I understand what you mean, I feel a lot of people are quite let down with both the absence of enough screen time for the longlegs killer himself as well as the ending leaving so much unanswered, but yeah like you say the craftsmanship of the movie making is great but yeah it could be fleshed out more, hope you enjoyed the video 👍
@@jb2einziger I did enjoy the video! I actually don't mind the lack of seeing Longlegs at all, I feel that shows his role in it even more evident on how he's just a 'proxy' for the devils work.
@@fatherdehayeah I think we got enough of him, I just meant in terms of complaints I see from other people that seems a common one people raise
The tension was well done, but the mystery was nothing. Longlegs just told her what she needed to do to catch him.
I am going to watch it again. But this time with the mindset that it is a comedy.
@@sleepinggorilla I wouldn’t go as far to say it’s a comedy although some of nic cages scenes can be taken that way with how much he’s hamming it up, and with regards to him telling Harker how to catch him, he shows that he’s not needed anymore that’s why he gives himself up so easily and kills himself rather than needing to continue this on as we know he’s already been getting away with this for 30 years. He’s always one step ahead, and even at the end Harker doesn’t even manage to stop him fully after his death, it’s still implied that this curse and cycle will probably just continue and stay with Harker and ruby from then on. I know it’s got a lot of mixed reviews etc and it’s not for everyone but I think it still got a lot of things right Imo anyway 😊
i’m curious how old you think gen z are? coz we’re like 17-27 years old or something around that range…i’m 23 almost 24 and a lot of people who are making videos on longlegs are around my age, it’s a lot of young adults who don’t like shitty movies and appreciate slow burns, same with hereditary or any A-24 horror movie really…i mean this is more of a slow burn than hereditary but i think they’re similar in how meticulous they are and how multiple rewatches make you understand it more and more
Yeah I understand what you mean, I just think based on the trailers and tag lines it’s setting the film up to be way more intense and scary than it is I really love dark thrillers and detective stories as I say in this video but I think a lot of people going into it they are just looking for a fun watch or some jump scares as a date movie or just the latest horror might be let down in some way, for people who love to study and analyse films and watch them repeatedly I think this is great ! I loved it and can’t wait to watch it again, but I saw it with my wife and there was just lots of younger couples around us in the cinema just talking and going on there phones and messing about the whole screening so I must’ve just thought a younger general generation, not everyone of that age group but a majority may just not have the patience or attention span for a lot of it as it is a very quiet and slow film a lot of the time, I guess that’s where I made that assumption from. Thanks to watching 👍
This movie is dogshit.
Then why are you watching a review and video on it if you didn’t like it ?
