Try this on a MX922 and it is laughable. The opening is about 2" X 6" and the tape is about 3" back. It is almost impossible to see and very difficult to reach. With an unusually long q-tip one can manage to reach the strip, but seeing what one is doing is almost impossible.
I plugged my mx490 in forgetting I tossed my old ink cartridge before I bought a new one and the printer went crazy, slamming the ink carriage into both sides of the printer enough that it moved. I unplugged it so it would stop and then put the new black cartridge in and got a 5100 Error. Turns out the Encoder cable popped off. I tried to fix it, and it is repairable if youre some kind of super human, but even with decent eyes and steady hands I couldn't get it over both sides. Took about 15 minutes before I just gave up because these aren't meant for repair.
Where can I buy a replacement battery encoder strip for pixma ts5120, part q5-5924 B09. This cleaning didn’t work it seems there’s a permanent stain. What type of encoder can I get? Do I search for q5? Q5-5924? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Outside of warranty already. Thanks. I can replace it myself just need to know where to get the part.
@@CanonUSASupport Actually, in the end a few lines are still a little bit shifted, but using "High resolution paper" as medium, as suggested in one of the Canon forums, helped to achieve full print quality. So I'm glad I can keep using my printer.
My ip7250 is throwing a B200 error; on inspection of the strip it appears to be covered in ink (I'm thinking hot weather whilst being transported). Could this cause a B200 or is that error restricted to print head issues?

@@maryjanedavock407 it's so unfortunate that they us their name to pass off subpar equipment. I now have a paperweight full of brand new ink. I had to refill it just to try and fix the problem to begin with.
What are you doing? The encoder tape must not be cleaned with alcohol !!!! The whole movie will be removed from the tape!!!! You are showing stupid things to people to destroy the tape!!!!
Fixed the issue with the printer. Thank you.
Thank you very much! Your assistance has been invaluable to me!
