A museum piece, the whole thing! Wow! Just wow! Such hard, dangerous work. These guys provided the essential materials and wealth that built America, and we should all stand in awe of and be grateful to these regular hardworking fellas.
This is remarkable footage of preserved history. I love this.
thanks
Wow! The bits of the old miners brought me to tears. The men who built our country, harder than the rocks they broke. Thank you, Jeff!
Dude! What a blast to the past, big operation, that gold at the end was a fantastic find! Thank you sir!

That historical black and white film of miners, looks so dystopian as they come out of the man lift, and walk together in line.
Jeff, your knowledge of geology, mining, and humor are just great, laugh every time, as well as educated too.
thanks ...always love hearing that
@@Askjeffwilliams Yes, many must tell you that, it's obvious. I'm glad you chose mining over Hollywood, lol.
That was just an incredible mine explore. And that ore! Looked like 40 ounces per ton! Wow! Thanks Jeff and Lila!

you betcha
Do you ever look at all of the machinery that was Conceived during the industrial revolution and just find it mind-blowing !
I can wrap my head around improvements and Advancements, and spin-offs.
Where did the knowledge come from the knowledge build these things it's amazing .
" Necessity is the mother of invention."
Amazing place! Those gold ore chunks are simply beautiful
I would use one of them as a door stop 😉
VERY cool historical film, thanx.
Love that area! Nice job! Cool to see that big hoist.
Fun as always. Nice visit.
Great tour!
Absolutely incredible!
Jeff mentioned the S-word: sulfides. I know Big Copper here in southern Arizona makes a pretty penny with incidental precious metal recovery. As a kid, I remember seeing mine dumps in places like Helvetia that were pure pyrite (the effect in the sun was quite stunning). Perhaps I should sample some of these places and get out my mortar and pestle.
That looked like you could fire everything Right back up. The steel head frame. My grandfather and his brother after WW2 built them he's buried in pioche. The mines were tough work. And whiskey and red light district, pioche had at least 1 murder a night. They built the million dollar courthouse. And hangings on Sat morning. I looked in my box of photos mom left me. I don't have any photos but the dust cloud from the mill was so thick you couldn't see the building next to you. Tough people really tough times. Remember they lived in the depression and fought a gut busting war. Even I don't know how tough they were. I loved the shop part. Your always saying there's the foundation for the forge every mine had a blacksmith . Well they had carpenters electricians millwrites even plumbers really important plumbers. ❤❤❤❤. I know my mother hated me going to Nevada. She hated the mines.
yes everything is ready to go ...... wow then you recognize Castleton .... I bet you got really good stories to tell.... can you imagine getting down on the 1200 foot level and going from Pioche to Castleton..... Gary worked that mine in the 70's on the 800 foot level and said the water was there when the shut the pumps off and he haid to change out the breakers in water .....he has so many stories as well .... a different time back then my brother ... thanks for sharing
Did you see during that whole tour that caught your eye's Jeff Not just your lovely Wife Jeff!!!😊
My eyes are enjoying the feast. Bloody beautiful.
Yes Sir ! We smashed that LIKE Button real hard !! Great video ! Love seeing all that gold ! You know the old timers didn't get it all. Did they discover it using detectors ? I can imagine a gold bug or monster would be screaming! Thanks for showing us around. 👍
thanks my brother ......we did too ...over 9000 ounces on the one little pallet ..... Western Australia .... no it was an underground mine and the just blasted it out of the reef... you betcha
What a great video, so educational, much appreciated,
Great finds, what a cool place!
Small industrial compressors. At Dresser Rand we made them that size all the way to building size. Those were probably made at Ingersoll Rand same place Painted Post NY.
Excellent video!
So nice!
I love the reference to Silas McGee.
"When you went into that mine, when you climbed down 400 foot of shaft with all the sweat running down your back, not knowing whether you'd get out of it or no...were you thinking about the girl or were you thinking about the gold?" Silas McGee -- The Motherlode.
A underrated film from 1982 staring Charlton Heston as a old Scottish gold miner in the Cassiar mountain range in Canada. The movie features an real unscripted float plane crash into an alpine lake. When the plane crashed, the producer - Heston's son, Fraser, decided to include it into the movie and rewrite the script.
The movie can be seen here for free: ua-cam.com/video/K_KvtHhQYXI/v-deo.html
love that movie ...." You stay the heck out of my mine Laddie " ''''Its the Motherlode ..... yep we remember that addition from the movie .....glad no one was hurt ....good memories right there
Great show, thanks.
Whoa man even in its quarts crystal raw form the gold looks soo beautiful.
A one in a hundred vid, Thanks Jeff
That gold at the end.....woo-hee! Awesome video yet again. Well done Jeff
Thanks 👍
First class video friend thank you and please keep the great videos coming from Scotland
you betcha my brother
So cool !
Dang, that was an interesting adventure in history. Thanks.
Great video Jeff !
I saw the compressor at the Gardner-Denver manufacturing plant in Denver, Colorado. It ran the entire city block size plant. It would fill the room those 2 compressors were in. That facility is now called The Denver Lofts, or some such BS. It's a shame that place wasn't turned into a museum. Thanks for the videos! If that is old Nitro dynamite, the Nitro will leak out into the soil, leaving the paper and other components on the surface. Nitro never goes bad. Put a cap in that dirt and get the hell away from it. It will go boom. Don't even walk in that area. Ask me how I know.
you know I have to ask if you have all your toes . Lol
Actually just 2 missing fingers.@@Askjeffwilliams
Squirrel. It is fun watching Jeff in his natural environment. Try to keep up as he sees something else.
Love this stuff
Thanks Jeff, one of your best, IMO! the historic vid addition really gives a better understanding of what the miners went through. Take care and stay safe.⛏⚒⛏
Edit; noice AU !!!!!!
thanks
Thanks again
Amazing,sir . good luck
you me pretty excited with this one. There are a lot of abandoned gold mines in my area.
Jeff, when are you gonna make it to Colorado??
we got to Cripple Creek all the time and over to Victor ...want to head over to Leadville
Really fascinating, I wish one fine day I own something like that or even smaller in size.
Jeff, a magnificent video of the hard work and production of these blokes went through to get the gold. They must have been hard and rough times for poor blokes doing all the hard work.
KEEP THE HISRORY ALIVE IS SO INPORTANT.
Cheers Dan
thanks Dan and yes they were ....you betcha ....Cheers
Man that place is impressive
Outstanding buddy 😊
Thanks ✌️
Great video Jeff.
Very cool video. Slim must be on vacation
Hey Jeff, Don't forget Big Bad John! Wow ya got my attention 👀👀 with that material near the end....let me find out it's from Cerro Gordo! Lol! Love it all, keep it happening! ⛏️⚒️⚖️👷💪👷🤠

Thsts a heavy duty operation Jeff 🤠 Thanks for sharing with us 🙏 God Bless
you betcha
Oh there goes my water (scream from down below)😂😂
amazing
That was cool thank you jeff! Hi from nm!
Amazing video Jeff. I love all the old gear . We rarely see artifacts in our Australian mines because people get greedy take them to sell at auctions. I love the gold deposits very impressive. It's my dream to see a gold deposit underground. Not to sell just to see one.
Great video Jeff!
That gold ore looked juicy-damn!!!!🔥⚒️🇺🇲💯🔥
It was!
Oh wow, that place is amazing, above and below ground.
Looks like it needs a proper explore with us lot! 😆
You never get to see so much equipment still in place and in perfect condition, just amazing. 🙏 Take me there and I'll buy you breakfast with gallons of iced tea and a sack full of lemon slices!
I had to laugh when you drop that water. That was kind of funny.
😮 Whoa now that's something 😳 nice specimens
Thanks!
you betcha
Nice! Nuff said. Let's Go!
I think we've only scratched the surface.
A great version of 16 tonnes is by the Rainmakers 👌
That is amazing how they got all the heavy machinery there. Them old timers were animals all the credit to the miners for sure. Be safe my friend 🙏 another awesome video. The next town over from me is sayerville NJ home of Hercules. They maid stuff that went boom. That gold at the end was so rich make u have gold fever from the video.
I know...right ...and yes they made a lot of the good stuff
Jeff those downward shots give me the hebee gebees !
Nice field trip.
