Hey look, it’s my favorite gold miner , prospector and geologist!!! I’ve seen those piles of material that look completely out of place and always wondered how it got there?
Lots of granite crumbling there with viens right next to them. That would be a great place to sample im guessing. Its Amazine how they got equipment into those remote places back in the day. There weren't many roads back then. So if you found a camp that tells me it had to be profitable.!
It's a great opportunity that in the old days 2 oz per ton wasn't enough to bother with so now there are abandoned diggings all over that are very profitable. I wonder what era? Late 1800s? I think you found it, Jeff. In that wash. Maybe some of the outcrops, huh?
Yes the timing of certain mines closing because ot wasnt profitable could be a huge clue. I think if there was a geology survey it would help. Lots of mines never made it into the geology surveys reports. This im certain of.

10000 years ago was the ice dam from Montana to the ocean we have had lots of smaller fluds in the past but big one was holding up a lot of water 💧 it hit the ocean in 3 days so all the lore states got hit hard with gold 👏
I love that you and Lila have a taste for adventure and wisdom. A fellow by the name of Slim and his illegitimate children know🤣. Yours and Lila s enthusiasm is encouraging. 😊
Great video homie. Love the knowledge as always the evidence of the hand. Stacking is epic and awesome verification for the hand stacking in my area probably done by the Spanish though they had dugout Pitts in the bedrock under the washes as catch buckets.
Hey Jeff, here in Nova Scotia, Canada, a small gold rush was started in Waverly(1880 to 1890s) by a person starting a garden(planting potatoes) a 20-lb species was dug up! Later a mine was dug, at the top of American Hill!
Ok, small mystery for you; I found a massive old portal to a mine that isn't really well documented, a few old newspaper articles, and its sunk into a massive quartz ledge (I believe its part of where the gold on my claim came from), They almost could almost have had union pacific move their ore carts for them, thats how big of a hole they punched into the mountain. But. Next to it, is a short tunnel, like, 12 feet wide and maybe goes back 20 or 40 feet... But the entire thing was backfilled with SOFT dirt, no rocks, pebbles. So my guess is whatever equipment and supplies they didn't remove from the site, I figure they put in that cave they made and backfilled it... If it were shutdown for WWII and the operators figured they might get to come back to it later... I mean, seems like a logical way to have a powder magazine, put it a little ways away and off to the side... So I dunno. Any ideas on what a miner might throw in a short tunnel and bury with the softest of dirt? And it was not compacted at all. My first thought was not to poke around because my luck so bad its probably their old sweaty dynamite under all that dirt. But I suppose if I had a bunch of high grade ore laying around, I'd bury it too. Or any equipment I didn't want to pack out of there.. Just don't know. Might be a thing for some day when I have something fancy like ground penetrating radar to go take a look at.

If you ever get the chance, you would probably like to see the old placer tailings near Moccasin on the Tuolumne River. They are stacked and engineered very neatly in parallel stacks, and visible off Highway 49 ("Golden Chain Highway" according to Google Earth). Farther south, there are major serpentine outcrops as the highway climbs out of the canyon. I have a beautiful specimen of Chrysotile asbestos, orpiment, and realgar from along the highway.
Idk. Maybe you’re right that $20 for an ounce of gold a century ago wasn’t a lot. But it’s gold so it maintains its purchasing power better. I remember a video saying how Europe had inflation of like 2% over a century or more due to the Spanish bringing in tons of gold they took from the Aztecs and Inca etc. by them bringing in tons of gold they inflated or expanded they money supply essentially which drove prices up. Paying China in silver probably helped since they used some of the metal or money outside of Europe. Oh but anyways ya I thought about that topic a lot today. Henry ford I remember was famous for raising wages to $5 a day not cause he was generous but to keep good workers and reduce worker turnover. But I thought today $5 would be a quarter ounce of gold since $20 was an ounce of gold. If gold is say $2400 and you divide it by 4 that’s $600. So being paid $5 a day back then if you do a simple comparison to today that’s like being paid $600 today in fiat dollars. Then again if ford paid in gold money from the mint those coins demand a premium today like I think 6% over spot or something and silver was 15%. I remember the one mint act of congress made it so the mint would take 1.5% of the weight of the metal as a fee to process metal and turn it into money or coin. Be interesting to see how that changed over time and what that 1.5% weight would calculate to as a fee or premium over spot in comparison to coin premiums today. The U.S. mint don’t even make their own blanks but outsource to an Idaho company which interestingly I remember black rock bought a bunch of stock of a year ago. Oh but anyways ya. Henry ford paying $5 a day doesn’t sound like a lot. $20 an ounce doesn’t sound like a lot. But if ya convert and look at the price of gold today it’d be like if a ford factory worker got $600 today. Then again that’d be hard to figure out what they’re paid today cause you’d have to look at their pension and insurance benefits etc and add it all up to get an estimate.

re; Grand Canyon carving... Some of the latest theory on the G Canyon is, an enormous lake to the east larger than Lake Michigan with a dam many miles wide, blew and formed the Colorado River. The force was so enormous it carved out the new river. The proof lies in , a drop of altitude throughout the progression of the river allowing for what's called 'back cutting' , seen in the numerous dropoff's in river height along it's trail. This made for rapid erosion.
