I love this particular low porosity line!! Love love love. It’s the only one from Shea moisture that just works and I move on with my day. Low porosity is for people with really dry hair. Not regular hair. Let’s mention that.
Exactly... with so many mixed people and hair types that come along with that... they really cant have enough lol plus they have a quiz thing on their site to help people find what products work best for their hair types and hair goals.
They have a test online that takes the guess out of all of that... you answer their question honestly and they give you a few products that will work for your hair type and texture as well as needs!
Shea Moisture is giving me MAC vibes....once MAC started dropping limited edition products every other month their quality went waaaay down I know Shea Moisture is trying to make $$$$ but the moment their stuff isn't as good anymore I'm hopping off the bandwagon because their stuff isn't the cheapest over here in Germany.
Love. Love. Love this product. I have lo po 4b/c hair. My hair hates heavy product and protein with a passion. My hair was so moisturized after using this product line. It saved my life!! because I was ready to give up. In regards to adding a little protein to this line, I agree and used the Superfruit 10-1 Masque after the rinse out conditioner and WOW! This Masque compliments this lo po line very well!!! It works WONDERS!!!!! because the Superfruit Masque has light protein (Rice) which gave my hair the Perfect balance!! ..... Btw your video was the first I watched 2 years ago when I first did my big chop. Love your vids. Thanks for the inspiration! This line is Awesome Sauce!! Love my hair again!
I feel you on the fact that shea moisture is always comming up with a new line every other month and for some people its like wtf but one thing I can appreciate about them is that you never get a chance to get bored with a line because theres soo much to choose from on a consistant basis.. I personally like to switch up my products and get bored using the same thing but I agree for some people its just too much to keep up with but atleast everyone can find that one line they favor because of the many options available.
NIce review I really enjoyed it. I recently purchased the line and I am enjoying it so far. I have thick 4b coily hair low porosity and my hair has not felt this moisturized in a loooooong time. I cannot wait to get a trim and my curls will be pop pop poppin.
I have low to normal porosity 3c/4a/4b hair. My new growth and the hair closest to the base of my scalp seems to be really dry, thick and frizzy but my ends are curly and shiny. Is there any product(s) that would remedy this and/or is there a routine that would treat this part of my hair to retain its moisture? I do the LOC method and I deep condition once a week... Thanks sistas in advance for all suggestions.
I love the conditioner from this line. I use it as a moisturizer between wash days, and it keeps my hair supple and moisturized for weeks at a time. It also eradicates any dandruff and odor as if I cleansed my hair, so I bet it works great as a cowash too. In other words, try it as a refresher when you're too lazy to wash your hair and you want it to smell fresh.
THANK YOU. I appreciate your honest candor. They come out with so much that it's overwhelming. I stopped buying the new stuff and stick with the classic Shea line and the JBCO line. Everything else is just extraneous imo.
I agree with your comment that shea moisture is coming out with toooo many products.. it kind of dilutes the rareness of an "it" product. But then on the other hand, if many of their products work for you, then you'll be excited to try whats next. So its 50/50. But i LOVE shea. They're really on top right now:)

+Asha Williams I do so all of the time, because I wash my face after I come out of the shower. So makeup is always there. If they want to look good on camera what is wrong with that. All you need to know is that their review helped you. them having makeup own does not take away from the review.
You may need to go back and revisit this video because she did have on makeup. Look at the shower scene where it was running but that shouldn't matter. The review is about the product not the makeup.

Lots of great information in this video. I do agree that Shea Moisture has way too many products to choose from. When using the low porosity line would you recommend doing a deep conditioner before applying the Shea Moisture conditioner for that extra moisture our hair needs?

I have been struggling with finding a product that worked for my hair.....it retained absolute no moisture everything sat on my hair...... i recently found out that i had low porosity hair ......so i researched and found out about the shea moisture low porosity line........ i bought it and tried it ...... i absolutely love it to dat its the only product that really moisturize my hair...... and thats a relief.. ..finally

I've used the line twice so far . I feel the same way about the products ! I was used to using the raw shea butter leave in so when I put this one in I was a little skeptical ! It felt and applied the same and the slip was great but It felt different ( or mushy as you would say) ! LOL but after it soaked in a little I was like ok I can work with this !! Definitely takes some getting use to ! Thanks for sharing

the high porosity line from sheamoisture does have a shampoo and a leave in conditioner and a hair mask I have used them love it. I have high porosity hair can't wait to see if you like tht one but probably not because if you have low porosity hair then the high porosity one is going to weigh your hair down. loved your video I hit the subscribe button. #supportingnaturalhairSister
I shower everyday ofcouse and I know washing your hair everyday is damaging, so I only shampoo and condition on Sundays. With that said, should I wear a shower cap on days I don't wash my hair or is wetting your hair with water everyday okay (in regards to washing out leave in conditioners and etc...?)
Hello.🙋 shlinda1 I just found out I'm low porosity. When you wash your hair it's with warm water rinse with warm water. Deep condition with heat. When you moisturize and seal your hair using a spray bottle with warm water I notice when I spray the water It doesn't feel warm. Should I just put hot water In the spray bottle to open up the cuticle? Hope this makes sense.
I can so relate to the whole "mushy" hair thing. It's the reason I stay away from protein free hair products like the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter line. Protein free products make my hair soft, but too soft to where it feels mushy and my curls lack any strong form. I need and love protein. I'll probably never bother with this line; besides, I neither high not low porosity, but normal.

I appreciate the many variety of shea moisture products. I have three daughter who are also natural and all 4 of our hair respond differently to many products. So it's nice to have those choices. If a person finds one works for them, they can use it, if not then don't. Why should anyone feel compelled to buy everything they put out? I certainly don't.

I love the raw Shea butter moisture milk and conditioner but they burn my scalp. So I think the tingly/burning sensation that happens is on a person by person basis. My only question is are you low porosity????
I'm sooo confused on if my hair is low or high porosity..i have qualities from both categories..my hair retains moisture & water when i wash it but it only retains moisture & shine for that long, yet my hair does not like water based products..only loves butters..can anyone help???? Usually once you have is chemically relaxed your hair tends to be high porosity, but the truth is we all have different hair and will react differently
Preach, I almost don't even want to sift through their products anymore. Stick to one thing and do it well..their product creation is like slight of hand trickery..why all the confusion?
Have you tried the sacha inchi oil omega 3,6,9 rescue and repair deep conditioner? On the shea moisture site, it is marketed to be used with the low porosity line. I used to use the trader joes tea tree and peppermint shampoo and conditioner, so I didn't even feel the "tingle" in this line. if you can take the trader joes, i think youll be able to take this.

But just felt a little tired with Shea Moisture coming out with a new line every week, so I haven't purchased yet. I was wondering if you have tried the SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus line? I found that it made my hair frizzy and wanted to know if that happened to you. Also do you know of a product that helps frizzy hair?
The shampoo made my hair hard, I had to follow up with the Raw Shea moisture to soften it up, It felt really stripped and dry. But I do use the curl cream/milk for my curls.
I agree they have far too many products. They need to taper down. I live in San Diego and they only have a few of the lines on the shelf, so I can't just walk in and get everything in the stores a lot of the time I have to order online. I do have to say that the Manuka Honey Deep conditioner is AWESOME on my hair.

Yeah tea tree makes my scalp tingle like crazy. I feel most beautiful lounging around, not always doing the most.

You could use a creamy sulfate free shampoo or cowash.
And if you still have frizz try a gel to smooth it down

the high porosity line from sheamoisture does have a shampoo and a leave in conditioner and a hair mask I have used them love it. I have high porosity hair can't wait to see if you like tht one but probably not because if you have low porosity hair then the high porosity one is going to weigh your hair down. loved your video I hit the subscribe button. #supportingnaturalhairSister
I shower everyday ofcouse and I know washing your hair everyday is damaging, so I only shampoo and condition on Sundays. With that said, should I wear a shower cap on days I don't wash my hair or is wetting your hair with water everyday okay (in regards to washing out leave in conditioners and etc...?)
i need this product line then because i need to feel the tingle...my scalp tends to get really itchy and flaky

It may have felt like the protein bond was missing is because low porosity hair doesn't take well to protein
have you ever used aphogee as a protein treatment??? if so how do you feel about it??
Hello.🙋 shlinda1 I just found out I'm low porosity. When you wash your hair it's with warm water rinse with warm water. Deep condition with heat. When you moisturize and seal your hair using a spray bottle with warm water I notice when I spray the water It doesn't feel warm. Should I just put hot water In the spray bottle to open up the cuticle? Hope this makes sense.
I can so relate to the whole "mushy" hair thing. It's the reason I stay away from protein free hair products like the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter line. Protein free products make my hair soft, but too soft to where it feels mushy and my curls lack any strong form. I need and love protein. I'll probably never bother with this line; besides, I neither high not low porosity, but normal.

hey girl great video. Didn't get the name of the products you used after the shampoo and conditioner. can you please say what they are. I have low porosity hair and am trying to figure out what products to use in it.
I appreciate the many variety of shea moisture products. I have three daughter who are also natural and all 4 of our hair respond differently to many products. So it's nice to have those choices. If a person finds one works for them, they can use it, if not then don't. Why should anyone feel compelled to buy everything they put out? I certainly don't.

I love the raw Shea butter moisture milk and conditioner but they burn my scalp. So I think the tingly/burning sensation that happens is on a person by person basis. My only question is are you low porosity????

I'm sooo confused on if my hair is low or high porosity..i have qualities from both categories..my hair retains moisture & water when i wash it but it only retains moisture & shine for that long, yet my hair does not like water based products..only loves butters..can anyone help???? Usually once you have is chemically relaxed your hair tends to be high porosity, but the truth is we all have different hair and will react differently

Have you tried the sacha inchi oil omega 3,6,9 rescue and repair deep conditioner? On the shea moisture site, it is marketed to be used with the low porosity line. I used to use the trader joes tea tree and peppermint shampoo and conditioner, so I didn't even feel the "tingle" in this line. if you can take the trader joes, i think youll be able to take this.

Yeah, I'm one of those ACTUALLY looking for that mushy, buttery feel right now because I haven't felt any product truly absorb into my hair for a while, so I just might give it a try, lol. (I know I could use a good clarify or detox or something, but still..) Just tired of seeing product just sitting on top of my hair after washing. Thanks again!

I was wondering if you have tried the SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus line? I found that it made my hair frizzy and wanted to know if that happened to you. Also do you know of a product that helps frizzy hair?
Try the Shea moisture super fruit complex . Especially the conditioner and the masque .
The shampoo made my hair hard, I had to follow up with the Raw Shea moisture to soften it up, It felt really stripped and dry. But I do use the curl cream/milk for my curls.
I agree they have far too many products. They need to taper down. I live in San Diego and they only have a few of the lines on the shelf, so I can't just walk in and get everything in the stores a lot of the time I have to order online. I do have to say that the Manuka Honey Deep conditioner is AWESOME on my hair.
