One of British sitcom of 2000s together with black books , coupling, the it crowd , in-betweeners my family the office and extras ,but green wing is more underrated than all of them.

ok so basically... that’s the style of the show. Bravo! there’s your explanation! :) Haha i agree that it’s weird but this show is weird on purpose so just watch it for a bit and if you don’t like this style then you don’t have to watch it. cheers mate.
It’s the creator, Victoria Pile’s style. She also made Smack The Pony (a sketch show with a similar vibe to Green Wing). While it can be aggressively quirky at times, her work also has genuinely strong writing and an emphasis on female characters being just as if not more whacky than the male ones, which was fairly uncommon at the time - the women in comedy back then were often just exasperated at the antics of the boys. Smack The Pony is a great sketch show and Green Wing is a great sitcom.

The music people for this show called themselves "Trellis" and released a soundtrack of all the musical stings and short songs from Green Wing. This song is called "Car Park." I use them as ringtones.
