Just imagine if Batman wasn’t Bruce Wayne and just some random Gothamite. Scarecrow broadcasts his unmasking to so many news outlets and when the mask comes off, everyone’s like, “Who the heck is that guy?” 😂
It doesn't matter. Scarecrow didn't care who Batman was, and though Gotham was surprised to see Wayne as the Bat, the important thing was the unmaking of Batman's legend. The proof that Batman was in the end simply a man, a flawed man who is capable of failure, bad choices and fear. That was the important part. Batman could no longer bring fear to criminals or hope to the people, so his career came to an end.
@@joeferri3491 No. Both endings leave Azrael busy. In 1 he is in Jail in 2 he is too busy with the order. It's 100% Bruce Wayne because not many people could replicate a bat suit. Also who would be able to create the toxin? At the beginning of the game Bruce analyzes the fear toxin. So he would definitely be able to replicate it.
Soo. Joker officially takes over Bruce's mind. Joker gets dose of fear toxin and Bruce uses it and Joker's fear to take back control of his own mind. Clever! I like! Subtle of course, but that's why it's so great!
Why are you talking like that.... It's not like there's another game out there where the same Batman gets humbled by an empowered villainess ,right? Thank God such a thing doesn't exist

You know what's sad about the Riddler sidequest? Considering the fact that it takes a long time to get all the trophies, it may be the last mission players take on to initiate the full Knightfall Protocol. This effectively makes Selina Kyle/Catwoman the last hero/anti-hero to ever seen Bruce Wayne and that she'll never see the person that she actually gave a shit about ever again.
Dennis Claros They could have been like: Batman: I'm ending this... Catwoman: Let me come with you! Batman: Fine, just wait by the manor... Catwoman: See you! *batman reaches the mansion* *BOOM GOES THE MANSION* They all lived happily ever after... Tim and Oracle got married. Jason becomes Red Hood. Joker still is in hell. Talia is dead :/ Thats what i wanted...
Lucas Ho lol I thought it was going to go - Batman: I'm ending this... Catwoman: Let me come with you! Batman: Fine, just wait by the manor... Catwoman: See you! batman reaches the mansion BOOM GOES THE MANSION. CATWOMAN DEAD.
18:15 Alfred: Some aren't looking for anything logical. They can't be bought, bullied, reason, or negotiate with. Some men, just wanna watch the world burn.
‘’Look after him, Jim. Look after them all. You’ve been a good friend. The best I could ask for. You were there at the beginning and now... you get to see how it ends.’’
Like he said, there will be more but ur not going to play as batman anymore :( Could be a new robin or nightwing game.. or better yet a good superman game :D
For everyone confused The knightfall protocol has nothing to do with the knightfall story arch where bane broke the bat and Jean Paul valley became the batman. It's just a code name, a reference. No batman is not useing fear gas. That is actually what the thug sees. When scarecrow unmasked the batman he killed the legend of the batman, killed the fear. With the world thinking that the batman died in the Wayne manor explosion batman can be reborn. The fear can live on.
BoringMan Actually I would argue if the Azrael part of Knightfall was adapted for this story or not, Jean Paul or not, but I like your idea of the fear being reborn.
Winter Ostritch its not azeral its batman. bruce is under the cowl, but bruce wayne is dead. with his foes and criminals thinking that bruce and batman are one and the same he fakes his death and becomes the batman. bruce wayne is dead but batman lives on.

All REAL and honest ARKHAM BATMAN fans came here to rewatch the real masterpiece. I thoight it wasn't so good, but now i know this is the masterpiece. Rocksteady kills own amazing universe with insane potential. SSKTJL is NOT canonical story and ending for THIS LEGENDARY Batman.
Fortunately, it's very likely not the real batman that Harley shot in Suicide Squad. There are voice lines for all the Justice League members that were found that implies they'll be alive in the next season. It's still a shitty game though, and I still don't accept it being in the arkham universe.

LeftBrain montreal could still continue origins. Iam fine with it cause i loved it. The superman game is also in development but its only a rumor at this point
I say Batman didn't die at the end of the game for three reasons: 1.Batman has faked his death dozens of times in comics and films, so we should definitely expect this to be the same case. 2. Alfred would never acquiesce so easily to Bruce's suicide. 3. Alfred was with Bruce/Batman and that would mean that Bruce/Batman is knowingly and purposefully killing someone (along with himself), which would mean that he died a killer.
I'll say we will never find out. But I guess it's better to have the bat dead than alive. I think bruce is still infected with the joker disease thats why I think it would be better if he's dead.
Gordon: “Who will protect Gotham now that Batman is dead?” Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood: Are we all jokes to you?!??! Edit: Damn y’all really think they’re useless.

Dear Batman Arkham Videos (Daniel), Congratulations on ending the series! It's been over four years of you being our Batman. You have been a very inspirational figure to us because of how professional you have been, the way you played, responded and just was the Batman, all the attention you have given to all the details in our beloved Arkham games - the walkthroughs, guides, easter eggs and more! We all appreciate the effort you have put into work on this channel and your great videos! We wish you success and good luck in whatever you do! All the Best and Huge Thanks, Your fans! :D
Getting all the trophies was an absolute bitch. Good thing I'm stubborn. I would usually just go on UA-cam and see the ending but I decided to work my way to it. Probably spent about 10 hours after finishing the story trying to get all the side quests. Was it worth it? Probably not. But I like games...
This video contains some of Kevin's greatest lines in this game: "You're afraid of being ashes. You're afraid of being forgotten. And you will be forgotten, Joker. Because of me." "I am vengeance. I am the night. I am Batman!" "Goodbye, Joker." "I'm not afraid, Crane." "What's wrong? Scared?" "You were there at the beginning. And now... you get to see how it ends." "It's done. Gotham is safe."
Well... Saying goodbye to the Arkham series was bad enough... Saying goodbye to the Batman himself, that I wasn't ready for. Never thought the day would come, but rest in peace Kevin the cowl is and always will be yours 🕊️
Joker doesn't care about Harley though. He just sees her as a henchgirl and sex toy. I don't get why the game wouldn't let you shoot her during Joker's funeral because it's exactly what he would do.
Actually, he DOES care about Harley, he's just a loon. In Emperor Joker, he obtains the power of Myxzsptlk (I am NOT making that name up. Go ahead, google it.) and basically becomes God. Cue him doing whatever he can (which is literally anything) to make people's lives a nightmare, ESPECIALLY Batman's. Harley, the moment she found out about his new power, asked if he would do away with her too. He replied that he'd NEVER harm her, and then gave her the best seat in the house to watch the fireworks.......*_by turning her into a constellation._* Joker then smiled, (an actually decent smile, not one of his usual ones) and said, "Always wanted to see my dame in lights..." TLDR; There are moments that imply that Joker really does care for her, though admittedly few and far in between. Dude had the power to make her life an endless nightmare, but does he do it? Nope!
The One Who Resides in the Chaos I know about the Emperor Joker storyline but he only turned her into a constellation as an easy way to get rid of her. In Mad Love he slapped her then knocked her out of a window just for explaining how she improved his plan because in his words "Except you had to explain it to me. If you have to explain a joke there is no joke." And also because she tried to kill Batman and in Joker's mind only he gets to kill Batman. And Joker's not a loon because he's not insane. He's a perfectly sane but evil man who fakes insanity to avoid the death penalty. The whole fake "Clown Prince of Crime" persona is just an act he puts on to make himself seem insane but when that act drops you see the evil monster he really is.
Xehanort10 You say that, but if that was the case, Raven bringing his worst fears to life inside his head would've broken him. It. Did. Nothing. See for yourself: static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/14/145290/3218267-5378851590-11ws4.jpg
It's done. Gotham's safe. Thank you, Bruce. For everything. Goodbye Jim. Damn, that is the closest a game has come to making me cry. That scene from this game makes my heart melt every time I watch it. Damn, I miss this series. What a masterpiece. Marvel can't do a thing that even comes close to this. Especially in video games.
The line Bruce says to Gordon "you were there in the beginning" hits so hard when you realize it has a double meaning. Gordon worked with Batman at the beginning of his career (Even though Arkham Origins reveals that Gordon hated Batman at first.) And of course Jim comforted Bruce after he lost his parents.
This is the true ending to the Arkham series. The Arkham Knight lost, Gotham is safe, Batman won the war. He activated the Knightfall Protocol and died in Wayne Manor with Alfred. There are no loose ends, this is the ending. Not that garbage that Rocksteady put out in Suicide Squad. RIP Kevin Conroy. Forever our Batman 🦇
People will probably say ‘oh, but what about nightmare Batman at the end?’ Well, that’s kinda the thing. It’s up to interpretation. Is it Bruce? Maybe. Is it someone completely new? Potentially. That’s the beauty of the ending. There isn’t a ‘right’ answer
Stop at 38:24 then you can see Calendar Man standing behind Vicki Vale. If you guys remember the latest easter egg from Arkham City, Calender Man said to Batman "I was there at your beginning, and I will be there at your end." It seems that he kept his promise.
Batman is not just a single man, he is an idea. A symbol of justice that can not only be destroyed, but can be reborn in many shapes and forms. Gotham will forever always have a Batman.
I don't know how many of you share this opinion, but to me, despite all the horrific things that Joker has been depicted doing in this series (and especially this game, that Jason Todd scene), I still feel that Hamill's portrayal of him really makes him come across as a genuinely sweet guy to hang around. Sure, he's a homicidal maniac who relishes the chaos, but for one thing, that whole Jokermobile sequence and the first-person shooter was just a personification of Batman's fears of turning into a killer, and just all his friendly dialogue with Bats and how lightly he takes his actions makes ME take Joker a bit lightly too :D I know it sounds a tad bit crazy but he just sounds so genuinely friendly and likable. You have think a few times about how twisted his actions really are to view him as a criminal in this. It's not like Ledger where this guy is a living, breathing monster (ahem, "ahead of the curve") but you like him because he's entertaining to watch. Hamill's Joker just seems like a nice guy!
That's what makes joker so great, he seems like a fun and loveable guy to be around but underneath he's a monster. This is how he got harley to be with him, he was very manipulative and charming towards her and eventually once he got harley he was very abusive and cruel towards her.
And yet he kidnapped robin and tortured him for nearly 2 years straight (thats a looong fucking time to be trapped with the joker with his "games"), crippled barbara for life (never be able to take a shower again muchless fight crime) and killed a man's little daughter, then gave the man pills to kill himself with ( the guy actually thought it would be quick but instead it was a really painful, lethal form of laughing gas, considering he ate half of a rat in that time and couldn't stop laughing) so that he could get the permit to own an amusement park that the man had designed entirely for his daughter (which, once again, joker killed by prescripting her OD on some "mysterious" medicine)
I wish this series had the same writers across all of the games. I know they wanted to make a satisfactory ending here, but this just feels confusing and forced. [Spoilers Under the Cut] The tie-in comics are all about how Bruce Wayne is necessary to fix Gotham's problems by helping to make reforms, which Batman can't do... and here Batman kills off Bruce Wayne? I doubt he really kills himself, but the fact of the matter is that people think that he does. Not only is that a disservice to the character, promoting the idea that the character of Bruce Wayne can't do things to help Gotham like give criminals who want to reform jobs, but it also alienates Batman's own family from him. But, then again, this whole series has had Batman pushing everyone away, which is another thing I've really disliked. There are several times where Robin or Nightwing could've helped make a situation better, but he pushed them away just because. Speaking of which, I definitely feel like Dick should've had more story importance so he could be the new Batman, especially since his Batman suit is actually a costume in-game. Furthermore, it would've tied in with the game's whole theme about father and son, in which the son takes up his father's place and continues the fight. Instead, we get a game where Bruce is barely a respectable father figure to Dick and Tim, let alone his bare-bones attempt to fix things with Jason. He doesn't even deny that he abandoned him to get a new Robin. Back to the topic of the ending itself. What does it mean? Maybe it'll be expanded upon in DLC, but as it is, it really doesn't make a lot of sense to me with the way they've portrayed Batman in the games. Is it Bruce giving up being Bruce Wayne full time? Because, as stated above, Alfred pointed out that there's far more that Bruce Wayne could do for Gotham than just punching criminals in the face. Furthermore, criminals have already stated in the endgame that they're no longer afraid of Bruce's Batman, and I doubt that would change once they began to see he was the same person. Is it someone else? We've already seen that Bruce has been unwilling to put anyone else in harm's way, to the point of actually putting them in harm's way by excluding them, as he does with Robin in the game. Is it Azrael? His sidequest has two endings, but in neither do we see him acquire anything like fear gas. Similarly, his goals are either to become a lethal Batman or take his revenge on the Order of St. Dumas. If he's the Batman at the end, then he's an evil one and that ending doesn't exactly inspire the hope that the game seems to be going for. And Red Hood has his own identity in the DLC which takes place after the story, so it can't be him. On that note, Red Hood shows up to save Batman after trying to kill him the whole game and... he immediately disappears afterwards? There's no real pay-off to him being a villain. He just arbitrarily changes sides at the last moment. I know what they're going for, since Jason is a member of the Batfamily in the comics, but the execution was all off. If anything, there should've been a Dual Play final battle alongside Red Hood. Speaking of which, the final battle is against Joker instead of Scarecrow, who is the main villain. Yeah, Scarecrow unmasks Batman, but his treatment in this game is only marginally better than Hugo Strange's which is disappointing. Batman foils him at every turn, making him not all that threatening until he decides to kidnap Robin at the end. And only because Batman decided to lock him up. Don't even get me started on how annoying it is that Robin couldn't fight off Scarecrow when he's beaten a room full of armed thugs and a Titan at the same time. We also didn't get the promised team up of villains that the trailer said would be there. Scarecrow and Arkham Knight are working together, with Deathstroke coming in late-game to replace the latter. And that's pretty much it. We get some lines about Penguin supplying Two-Face's group with guns, but we don't actually fight Two-Face and Penguin thugs together. Everyone feels like they're doing their own thing. And that's not really a team up of villains, especially since everyone was against each other in City while accomplishing the same "stretching Batman thin" effect. I mean, it's a good looking game and the mechanics are definitely polished. But the story and lack of boss fights really leaves much to be desired for me.
CheesyGranola The thing is, if you talk to Cash after the story, he tells you that the mayor sent an arrest warrant for Bruce Wayne. Even if he didn't kill himself, Bruce would go to prison for vigilantism alone, not to mention any other charges (destruction, assault etc.) that could be thrown at him. But other than that, you totally summed up the problems I had with the game. The only other thing I'd like to add would be a more formal team up with the bat family (with or without Jason) like they showed in the trailers (Robin AND Nightwing, and there was a scene in a trailer with the three of them plus Oracle) for like a sorta final push against Scarecrow.
CheesyGranola Rocksteady made the ending an open to interpretation ending to get people to theorize and make their own happy ending or somewhat. I actually think the ending is meant to symbolize that Gotham is getting somewhat better considering that the family at the end is supposed to symbolize Bruce's family and since Gotham was a shit hole when Bruce's parents were killed no one was there to save them but now after Batman's legacy there is a glimmer of hope for Gotham since there is a figure to save the family in danger. I will agree that the ending needed more closure with the Bat family and the Jason Todd stuff needed better handling. But, I really got into the whole Batman is fighting off his greatest fear of becoming a sadistic madman and winning which I feel was a satisfying ending to Batman's character arc so the story worked fine for me.
Result: the game was overhyped so rocksteady could get tons of cash. They promised a lot of things just to make sure you buy the game, but they really wouldn't give it tho, at least they did a good job with the game
Honestly, I think Rocksteady told us the ending to the game, and it's been under our noses the whole time. When Bruce fights back the toxin and give Scarecrow an injection of his own fear toxin, he becomes terrified, seeing bats flying around the room. Finally, he looks straight at Bruce, seeing a Batman VERY similar to the one seen in the end of the Knightfall Protocol, even going as far as to matching the color temperature in both scenes. Also, Batman's talk with the Penguin and Catwoman kinda prove this theory shit-tons. However, I think Azreal's main purpose for being in the game (and for naming the Protocol "Knightfall") was to give players all these different theories and ideas about what could've happened. But, we're still almost given no choice as to who the "new Batman" is. It's gotta be Bruce Wayne, simply using non-lethal fear toxin as his way of creating the new myth/legend of the Batman.
I'm not entirely sure. Yes that does make plausible sense. But it also feels weird from a thematic perspective. If the theme throughout the game was that Batman was dead, it doesn't make much sense for Bruce to just go back to being Batman and now using the fear toxin. I'm not saying Bruce is dead, we know for a fact he ain't. I'm saying if that was a true sacrifice, than it would've been in vain if he just went back to being Batman.
@@jasoncummings7 He would never rely upon the same tactics the villains use. That would almost imply the villains are better than him. If Batman had to rely upon fear toxin, he would’ve relied upon it his whole career. Relying upon fear toxin is something an incapable Batman would do and it makes the villains seem better than him. I mean, can you really fear the Batman the same way if you knew he was using fear toxin? Not to mention the fear toxin has other dangerous side effects that can be instilled in an individual. Of course, why he used it on Crane at the end is confusing, but maybe because Crane has better tolerance to the fear toxin? I don’t know.
When Bruce Wayne is near the batsignal to activate the protocol, you can feel what he is going through. Its like you are Batman and you know what you are about to give up
I wish we could’ve seen Bruce saying Joker’s lines and laughing starting at 19:34. If we saw Bruce doing that, we would’ve been more scared of that than watching Joker do that.

How much explosive gel was used to activate the Knightfall protocol ?
That's a good question
100,000,000,000,000,000,000 Explosive Gel in total.
Yes.
It has been one hell of a blast
None cause the max limit for the explosive gel is 3 so it must be bombs
And the explosive gel can’t break a rock so that is a second proof its bombs
You know what's sad about the Riddler sidequest?
Considering the fact that it takes a long time to get all the trophies, it may be the last mission players take on to initiate the full Knightfall Protocol.
This effectively makes Selina Kyle/Catwoman the last hero/anti-hero to ever seen Bruce Wayne and that she'll never see the person that she actually gave a shit about ever again.

These games always show batman cutting off his family. A shame. Would've liked a happier ending for them, but oh well.

The knightfall protocol has nothing to do with the knightfall story arch where bane broke the bat and Jean Paul valley became the batman.

I say Batman didn't die at the end of the game for three reasons:
1.Batman has faked his death dozens of times in comics and films, so we should definitely expect this to be the same case.
2. Alfred would never acquiesce so easily to Bruce's suicide.
3. Alfred was with Bruce/Batman and that would mean that Bruce/Batman is knowingly and purposefully killing someone (along with himself), which would mean that he died a killer.

It's always cool to see the opposite of fear, and Nightmare Batman is the true master of fear in Gotham City🔥 29:17
22:09 It's nice to see that this Joker cares enough about Harley that he won't so much as point a gun at her.
He replied that he'd NEVER harm her, and then gave her the best seat in the house to watch the fireworks.......*_by turning her into a constellation._* Joker then smiled, (an actually decent smile, not one of his usual ones) and said, "Always wanted to see my dame in lights..."
TLDR; There are moments that imply that Joker really does care for her, though admittedly few and far in between.

I have high doubts that Batman's dead. This has got to be some Dark Knight Rises ending shit happening.
Dark Knight Returns more like, training an army

Joker
Came back to this moment to say rip Kevin Conroy 🙏
Hamill's Joker just seems like a nice guy!
i know what you mean, many of jokers scenes had me genuinely smiling at the dialogue.
Batsy
That's what makes joker so great, he seems like a fun and loveable guy to be around but underneath he's a monster. This is how he got harley to be with him, he was very manipulative and charming towards her and eventually once he got harley he was very abusive and cruel towards her.
That is literally Harley Quinn s whole idea
This game has some really emotional moments
And also I like when Selina and Bruce finally made their first truce
"I'm not afraid Crane!" That was nice.
26:35 The Best Line :')

Who's here after watching how the suicide squad game ruined the franchise?
28:16 the little change in music ,when Jason saved Bruce and when Bruce overwhelmed scarecrow, to a remix of the OG Arkham theme gave me goosebumps.
I wish this series had the same writers across all of the games. I know they wanted to make a satisfactory ending here, but this just feels confusing and forced.
[Spoilers Under the Cut]
The tie-in comics are all about how Bruce Wayne is necessary to fix Gotham's problems by helping to make reforms, which Batman can't do... and here Batman kills off Bruce Wayne?
CheesyGranola Totally agree!
I missed Dini so much
CheesyGranola The thing is, if you talk to Cash after the story, he tells you that the mayor sent an arrest warrant for Bruce Wayne.
***** Plenty of writers do this and I appreciated that Rocksteady did it that way. An ambiguous ending is not always bad writing.
Rest in Peace Kevin Conroy/Batman and thank you.. You will be missed legend.. You may be gone, but we will never forget you in our hearts.. :'(
Honestly, I think Rocksteady told us the ending to the game, and it's been under our noses the whole time.
Bruce Wayne would never resort to such a cowardly tactic for inducing fear in thugs.
@@idi-jq6cj yes he would.
@@idi-jq6cj isn't that kind of what Batman does? Unless you mean using the actual fear toxin.

Most Iconic Line of Batman Animated to Arkham Knight
RIP KEVIN CONROY
26:55 Batman’s final Ip Man multiple punches on the Joker...!!
We all agree this is the true ending of the Arkhamverse, right?
Yep
Yep
Yes this truly is the perfect ending to the arkham universe
Damn right, screw suicide squad
It’s done. Gotham is safe.
Thank you Kevin. For memories and lessons that will last for eternity.
41:41 "....A watchful protector.......A Dark Knight......"
39:02 What's done..............is done.
No more sacrifices.
No more losing friends.
No more hurting.
Ultimate balance.
...As all things should be.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Killer croc looks so badass can't wait till I can beat him up in the dlc: hopefully still don't know if they'll include him, I mean they have the character design and animation so I don't see why not oh yeah and playing as the joker was badass too
RIP Kevin, your work is your legacy. Thank you.
38:36 R.I.P. Kevin Conroy. You’ll always be my favorite Batman voice in our 💝.
29:42 We know eventually this will have that deep feeling……

as a person whos played the batman arkham games since i was in elementary, this damn ending tears me up. adding on to the fact that kevin conroy died, he'll forever be our batman.
rest in peace kevin conroy.
The true ending, not that garbage that just came out
Also, isn't king shark and captain boomerang supposed to be dead? Theres no way that, that trash is canon to the arkham verse.
@@treek10k Thankfully it's very likely all the justice league members (except for wonder woman lmao) were fakes, because voice lines have been found that imply they are alive in the next season. Even still, I don't accept it as cannon.
Loved this ending. The Joker flip flop point of views made me enjoy this ending 2x more.
Thank you, Kevin. For everything...
Over the years actors come and go as the Cape crusader, Kevin conroy made Batman his own and I appreciated it Rip Batman...
