David may not know it, but here in this video he is talking about basically fighting back against his abusive father, with the instuctors representing the authority (his father) he had no control over as a child but now has some degree of control through his strong will power. But I must stress that, in everyday life, as an adult, a trauma survivor needs to HEAL the wound and not 'just' bypass it or push through it. Eventually, there will be health issues, like knees issues, etc., as well as a profound emptiness and lack of true peace. We need to "feel it (the emotional pain) to heal it," which, like David's lifestyle of extreme will and motivation, also takes willpower and courage. My therapist is helping me by utilizing EMDR and 'parts work.' You can Google those two tools - EMDR and parts work.
So you know more about his words/thoughts/emotions than he does? Modern people never cease to amaze me.
@@SiVisPacem_ParaBellum There's a chance I am wrong, but, for instance, I was roaming the Earth for 50 years before I realized my childhood was significantly and negatively impacting my current life. And this was after 20 years of sobriety and 'peeling away the layers of the onion.' Regarding your comment, this is why people go to therapy - to gain insignt and awareness from someone who knows what is going on.
Well said!
My parts are work as well for Jack hammerings
@@jordannerdboy4117 please make what you want to say more clear.
Your story puts a big ass grin on my face.
Awesome story thank you for sharing!
The will to push your limits when facing adversity is a skill that most won't possess but never be disencouraged as anything is build able in life. Stay at it.
Taking SOULS! 😤
Few humans can make their body do what Dave can make his body do.
He had me at "i was in the civil air patrol"
Fascinating stuff. Is the full interview available?
Reminds me of Cool Hand Luke…
To me on its way this is one of the examples of true greatness
The flip side of that coin is where the other guys, many of them doing their best to push through Hell Week, were stuck in boat crews with quitters. They suffered as a result of that.
One or two guys can't carry an entire boat crew, the crew has to step up or drag everyone down.
Let’s take some souls.
Do not be to smart. I can go higher and deeper. I can write anything, I want to write.
Had like 7 attempts to shock them.
Tell us you don’t know 💩 about Goggins without telling us you don’t know 💩 about Goggins.
@@mcmjr405how many times was he recycled?
I enjoy the story & I did learn from the story...just that I don't like the expression "taking souls." That is not what you did & that should not be your goal. You can demonstrate that you are hard asses & that may belittle other teams BUT you are not taking souls which are internal to the human being & not pushed around like game pieces on a chess board. I do understand slang expressions, especially among the military. So, understanding that...go your way, I guess!
Uncontrollable Jack hammering can be an addiction
Jackhammering or faphammering?
