A Youngman with a good Father dont know Just how lucky You Are
True
Facts
actually i do but i appreciate David´s way and decision a lot. He is a good role model in a lot of points. no one said, we have to be exsactly as him but to go a proper, straight and morally positive way.
Amen
i love goggins. the dude is so real.
Can literally feel his passion and power hey 👍
There wasn't a father in my life, so I pieced it together on my own as I met people

Same.. more power to you guys!
Same.
Never underestimate the power of one person to inspire another 🙏
We all can look back on men who inspired us as a young boy or man. Mine was my 5th grade football coach, and I still talk about him today. I was born in 1958...
@@rdmez1 not all of us ey. We who can must count ourselves very lucky. Speak a man’s name and he lives 🙏
*millions of others!
Fathers are sooo damn important in a young mans life
Sure wish I had one growing up. Physically present, but totally worthless as a father or husband.
@@SenorJuan2023Sorry to hear about this. You can be much better than him by that discription.
they are but having a present father is not always necessarily better than having an absent one... could be abusive, alcholic, suicidal, have social anxiety, etc... at the end of the day we all gotta figure shit out, regardless of gender. i realize that even though a trait like discipline is typically associated with "masculinity", discipline at the end of the day is discipline and is useful for anybody's life
‘Discipline is the bridge between ambition and achievement’
- My father didn't teach me $HlT - I was lucky some mentors took me under their wing. You're lucky if u have a good father, who tries his best to teach u things.
Goggins was looking for strenght and became the strenght himself.
Feel admiration for all you people who struggled. I’m the opposite my dad a WW 2 vet taught me chess, forced me to try different Foods, we listened to classical music together, tried to teach me Spanish ( I was too stubborn) all in all my best friend at times, ( I moved around). Loved him and miss him but I’m old now and we will meet again…
" I’m old now and we will meet again…"
keep your religious fetishes to yourself buddy.
G-d bless you Sr.
Whoever inspired Goggins must be the real deal. I need to check this guy out.
Scott Gearen is the real deal.
Pat Mac. Retired SOFD-D (Delta Force). Basic dude stuff. Talks about much more than "being tough." Men also need to know about how to be a good honorable man in a sick world. Running til you shit yourself and lifting weights won't solve most problems.
David is a different breed. I like his balls to the wall approach to life.
Godspeed Goggins
Being a person/the person who inspired David Goggins is a hell of a thing.
I met an E7 who was an SF guy who mentored me a lot. I won’t give his first name, but shout out SGT Phillips. He showed me that your mentality really is everything. I had a good dad, it just means a lot when somebody you aren’t even related to takes you under their wing too.
I met Scott Garren on the Flight line on Nellis AFB back in the 90's, I was a Blackhawk Mechanic, just said hello and someone told me about his story, first time hearing about him since then nice to know he did this for Goggins.
The Man the Legend Goggins
Relate to this 💯 with an abusive dad and he dies at a young age growing up with no male role model …sly was the guy changed my life as far as exercise and health and getting strong and not taking shit from bullies I definitely didn’t go the extreme as goggins ..,but can definitely relate🙏🙏💪💪💪💪💥💥💥💥
One layer of problem today is many kids don't have a father at all in their life. The next layer of problem that just as bad is many kids do have a father, but the father makes it impossible for a kid to want to be around him (alcoholic/addict or extreme anger).
We're starving for mentors; the less we have, the more we need them. They come in all forms - even in Kenny Rogers' song Reuben James.
First I've heard from this man Goggins, what awesome fortitude and living proof that a person will give you anything you want, so long as you ask them and they say yes. The Rambo that said yes helped build the foundation for a good American.
Read up on Goggins. Been on Joe Rogan a few times. This guy did so much running he destroyed his knees.. so he keeps running with bone on bone ignoring the pain. The dude is a bit crazy.
My dad was a Navy Helo jock ,always at sea or Vietnam. I was taught how to be a man by The Boy Scouts of America in 1967-1971. No moms in camp very few dads in camp mostly Military active duty and Vets as leaders. We had inspections. I became a leader and instructor and those lessons i learned at such a young age have stayed with me all my life.
$500 phone bill, that is some serious cold calling!
To pay the phone bill his next question was I would like to talk to you about your car warranty!
There are tons of life stories out there that stay untold.
Listening to this guy & reading the comments, hope we don’t need to storm a beach anytime soon.
I'm a marine veteran. When I got out and I first found out about David Goggins, I wanted to be like that. I think at some point in every males life, they wanted to be like the action heroes like rambo or the terminator. We all aspire to be great, but only the hungry will go for it while the rest still live in a dream world.
Really?
Or some of "the rest" knows that the US army is mostly just a clownshow for losers. And instead they build real businesses, achieve real success and don't have to look up some wannabe idols on the internet, bahahaaha.
LOL! Some of us like the real Rambo guys from Delta who have a real resume not just a loud mouth. Goggins isn't any harder than a solid Marine and even less so than many recon guys. Goggins is the entry level military cool guy for phuck bois. Wanna real idol check out Pat Mac, Kyle Lamb, Mike Pannone, Tom Satterly, Travis Haley...
Fr bro
I’ve met plenty of marines who have half the ego you do. They don’t claim to be great, or special, and those are usually the ones who are trying great in my experience m. They’re not trying to prove anything, or get accolades.
Roy Benavidez was the real Rambo.
Ray Benavidez lol
Roy !!!!! I forgive you spell check lol it’s Roy just for ppl
Roy Benivedez most definitely was the original Rambo and if you don't know his story well what can I say.
Yeah he needs a movie like 6hrs long
Dude here was crank
As a stepson of an alcoholic Vietnam Vet. I needed to find a mentor at 18. Joined the Shotokan Traditional Karate club, Flinders Uni 1987. Now 55. Mentally unbeatable. Genetics!. Train everyday, everywhere! Not one fight! Too smart, too strong, would kick j.wick through the wall! Embrace your DNA. You are you. Period. God bless!❤
It’s strange how life throws things in your path that you’re searching for or not sure what you need
Wow ! Need more OF THESE STORIES
I always made friends with old veterans. I served with 4/187 infantry, 101st Airborne Division 85-86. Then I went to 2nd Infantry Division. One of my friends was a Vietnam infantry vet. Taught me a lot. Another, a Guadalcanal vet. A third an infantryman in Patton’s 3rd Army who went to Bastogne to relieve the 101st Airborne. He told me of the march to Bastogne after being pulled from a fight. He hated Patton. He respected him, but hated him. I met other old soldiers along the way. Man the history passed on was awesome!
Semper Fi Goggins you're the epitome of the human spirit.
a real inspiration
I love Goggin's dude is a real G
Great story. Great man
What a badass, he went out and found a role model to become a man, some men never become a man
Inspiring!
Pray an act of perfect contrition everyday
That was an awesome story.
Brother you are incredible
Scott GEAREN is his name.
huh?
Yes!
Key word: “role model”
It is someone who someone strives to be like or to ascertain their same position they seem them as.
That’s what builds a drive inside someone to become more of what they feel attracted to to obtain greatness for themselves and more
Wow, such a cool video. I just finished a book and one of the standout chapters, I summarized as "Find someone who is or has done what you want to do and learn from them." So many teachers out there today that haven't actually done the things they are teaching. Thank you!
inspiring story...
Nice! Good story. I hope your life's travels take you to good places.
And now, David is that strong male figure for other boys/men who need a role model
🙃❤Awesome story 👏
Nice!
Amazing story.
Damn it mr goggins you sir and a fucking hero. Truly inspirational.
I was lucky too, to have about 3 mentors who took me under their wing to teach me different skills - now that I'm older, I do the same for people that seem like they have no direction.
Man that is deep I got it ....
It dam sure worked, because Goggins is as high at the pinnacle of BADASSERY that a man can get...
now thats some next level stalking
First time I’ve heard this story!
Scott Gearen was an instructor at Dive School when I went through the course. He had a damaged voice box I remember. But he was also the kind of guy you recognized in the service as being a squared away guy. Tough pt at that school.
The influence one strong male role model can have on a young mans life
The real Rambo is Patrick Tadina. Research that name, my father served with him as a LRRP in Vietnam. Someone should really make some content about him, a more impressive soldier has never walked the planet and that is not hyperbole.
Who?
@@lawdogwales5921 He was a LRRP, Just Google the name and start reading some of his obituaries. He's in the Ranger Hall of Fame and was the longest serving Ranger / LRP ( really he was a LRRP/LRPs but LRRPs we're rolled into Rangers later on in the Vietnam war) in Vietnam. He served over 5 years consecutive running hundreds of missions as team leader without ever losing a single man. His actions are legendary, he was an absolute savage and very likely the best soldier to ever walk the planet.
No it's not.
The book "Rambo" written by David Morrell was loosely based off of Medal of Honor awardee Audie Murphy. And you saying, 'a more impressive "Soldier" has never walked the planet' comes from someone who never served in the military. So why should anyone value an opinion from someone that never served and giving an opinion of a bedtime story passed on by their dad? No offense, but far from true and there are 1000s and 1000s of Soldiers that did the same, most of which never made it home. If you want to ask me how I know you never served, you can ask, and I will tell you.
If there is a real Rambo, that title 1000 times over easily goes to an actual Green Beret named MSG Raul Perez "Roy" Benavidez. Nobody saw combat like this man did. They thought he was dead and had him in a body bag when the fighting was over. For his efforts he was awarded the medal of honor.
Sylvester Stallone himself once said Colonel Bo Gritz is the closest thing to an actual real Rambo for his efforts going back to Vietnam after the war was over armed with only a crossbow, a knife and a camera to take pictures of any POWs there but he came back empty handed.
@@Democrats_are_a_disease Really, you're quoting a draft dodger Sylvester Stallone as your source? Hilarious man! You're also wrong about me not serving. Like I said, Google the name and spend 10 minutes researching it. It will change your opinion.
Goggins is the best
Awesome story and honored myself to have grown up mentored by an 11-C vietnam vet🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Is this guy for real? If what I know about him already, I never heard stories of his younger days and if any of what I heard today was true David is not human! Gotta love this dude he's almost superman!
What is the original podcast that this clip is taken?
👏🏻👍🏻💛💪🏻
❤🙏
0:41 - 1:39
Wow!!!!
These are not auto-generated subtitles. There is no excuse, in a video about _Rambo,_ for the subtitles naming it 'The Rocky Ramble' movie. See if you can figure out why so many people stop watching at the 40 second mark...
Yeah they were quite bad.
I was told my grandfather survived a attack and as the last man alive between way uneven armies in ww2. He was shot in the neck and passed out bleeding couldn't talk anymore ever. My dad is spec ops retired crazy bad ass.... Me I'm a carpenter :} with massive respect for the men before me
👍👍👍
I wish I had gone that route...I followed guys that drank...they were my heros! Oh well...live and learn!
Ah, yes! Who can forget the _Rocky Ramble_ movies? Classic cinema.
This is Ruben AMEN
When R We Going TO Run!!!??? 🙏💪🙏
David was nuts even before he became a navy seal. That is a nutty story, looking all around for a for a para rescue man spending all your money then just calling him up and staying at his house with him. I thought David's journey started when he lost all that weight to become a Navy Seal, but he was like this way before.
No squid was ever deemed the real Rambo. That title goes to Green Beret named MSG Raul Perez "Roy" Benavidez. If anything, the title could belong to the author's pick which was Audie Murphy. But Audie was not a green beret and MSG Benavidez was.
Good thing David didn't look to the wrong place for strong male role model.
pls don't bother putting text on screen if 20% of the words are completely wrong
Miyamoto Musashi was searching for strenght for the rest of his life just like Goggins. Stories of them are really similliar
Did he also have something happen to him early in life?
@@usmh yes his father used to beat him when he was a child and he wanted to be powerful. In the movie Musashi he screams I'm powerfull repeatedly after killing a local gang leader.
Who gives a crap about a Japanese ronin.
What podcast is this from?
Song?
The Frogman
i challenge them to a game of singles pickleball for 24hrs straight
For anyone that is interested in this story the para resscue man's name is scott gearen not garrett as the captions show.
We had an airborne instructor that looked like Goggins that would smoke us with 1500 flutter kicks no one could hang with that guy either.
Thought he was talking about Roy Binavidez.
I’m not sure he’s on the right track but then I don’t know where he’s coming from, all the macho stuff ain’t for me but I’m sure a hell impressed with this guys lifestyle.
More and more I realize the importance of being a leader as a man
Today a family friend invited me and my dad to come help teach her daughters how to swim and the smaller one apparently would not get in the water because she was too scared but when I got there she immediately followed me in so I ended up spending the entire time with her and getting her to be more and more comfortable with the water
By the end of it she was completely comfortable doing it by herself (it was all with her floating vest on)
Then when we were about to leave and they had taken her vest off she was so comfortable with the water, she wanted to go get in without it but they stopped her
So I think she’s ready to start taking lessons
I just think that’s one of many examples although small of how a man has the God given power to lead and how important it is to be good
Also not lazy or a coward because I could’ve said no
God those subtitles are so wrong, I feel sorry for anyone relying on them.
Not going to lie, only clicked on the vid because of the special ed Rambo thumbnail
Anybody got David’s phone #?
@Warrior State of Mind you should try fact checking.
The movie "Rambo" was *_not_* based off of Scott Garrett, it was loosely based off of Col. Bo Gritz.
Colonel Gritz did go back to Vietnam with a camera looking for POW's and he brought a crossbow.
Goggins is a real life anime charakter
lets leave goggins out of anime
@@DanDan123yoo no
Take this if want to but I like anime too but it doesn’t have to be apart of everything
Goggins=Garren
The irony about all the people talking about their father or lack of fathers in a david goggins video is obviously that its well documented that goggins has been an absent terrible father in his life instead focusing his time on his own ventures instead of being their for his children.
You are a good man, by leading by example, staying on your purpose, men are not made to be domestic all the time. We inspire by leading and living by action.
Audi Murphy was long dead before goggins was born
Audie*… and he died about 4 years before he was born. Not sure what your comment has to do with this story.
WTH does that have anything to do with why the author of the book Rambo basing his book off from Audie Murphy?
Amazing
Strong role model, I mean!
Being afraid of being weak. As motivation. Lucky i am not there anymore. But i love Goggins motivation and he is cool. But im glad im not like him🙏🏻💪❤️
Who the fuck captioned this?
David Goggins stares into your soul. I would love to have him train me, but I fear he'd kill my fat ass. From the hardcore training.
Great story Goggin's is awesome but just fyi the real Rambo was Master Sergeant Roy P. Benavidez who fought in the Vietnam war
Si
"he said about 4 words to me the entire week"
Leading by example is a dying quality
#govegan
That guys glasses 🤓
I was forced to become the Man I was searching for because I found no one
