Difference is freedom in the US context means you are free to become obscenely wealthy and you are free to die starving in the gutter. The state will look on with indifference regardless of the outcome. The rights and priviledges of the company/corporation are more important than the welfare of the citizen. The belief is the more successful the companies the better off the citizens. Crazy when taken to extremes the US has but that is the common belief.
That is incorrect. We(America) commit their war crimes for them with our taxes, our military, and our reputation. Why? "bEcAUsE ThEy'rE OUr AlLIes." They do pay for them though, with their taxes, taxes which are invested in improving their society.. instead of funding endless wars and enriching the industrial military complex
Yes, taxes fund the healthcare systems, it’s a better system than paying bloated insurance companies who might pay for your care, but then again, they might not.
We pay for wars, though. Like the one in Ukraine. But it´s a just cause so I´m not complaining. Nobody wants Russia knocking at their back door with bombs. Not Ukraine, not EU.
@@jamesm9995 It´s similar in the EU, the difference is that the insurance companies usually pay. But not always. There are treatments (like some treatments for multiple sclerosis) that some insurance companies don´t cover.
Technically healthcare isn’t actually funded by taxes. At least in Germany. It’s a public obligatory health insurance. The big difference is that if it was tax the state could decide what to use the money for. But the money that’s paid into the healthcare system stays in the healthcare system.
Because they are brainwashed to the extreme. Their children having free health-care and higher education is not worth the U.S. citizens they hate also having it.
As a German, I don't understand how you can be against health insurance that runs through the state. Why are you doing this to yourself? If you are sick, you can take 5 days of treatment and continue to receive your salary. How terrible it must be when you get sick and have to go back to work. Or seriously ill and unable to pay the medical bills. It's unimaginable for me. We are happy to pay part of our salary every month for this. Also as a donation for people with serious illnesses.
Ya, I'm with Germany. I love our Healthcare system in Canada for that as well. And in the end, the cost to society in general is less because people seek medical attention promptly, before it gets worse or irreversible, rather than avoid it due to cost, and then back to work, sports, family life, etc. Everyone can get treatment, so it reduces the risk of chronic or debilitating health issues, no matter your socio-economical background❤️ And we need all types of awesome humans to keep our communities evolving, and functioning❤

Being an American who has lived in both Europe and Asia for a long period of time with both Socialist and Communists governments, I can't see the US would be able to handle some of these options. Technically healthcare isn’t actually funded by taxes. At least in Germany. It’s a public obligatory health insurance. The big difference is that if it was tax the state could decide what to use the money for. But the money that’s paid into the healthcare system stays in the healthcare system.

As a Dutchy (male), our paternity leave is actually quite lacking compared to other countries in the EU. You can spread out these days in the first 6mo after your child's birth.

In general, Americans don't vote for policies that could benefit others because they could benefit others.
A very sad mindset for humans, in my opinion.
In general Americans don't vote for policies designed to turn them into compliant chattel like Europeans.
Because we don't trust the government use our tax money so less we pay the better
Americans don’t vote for policies that could benefit others because they are afraid that those policies will benefit black Americans. White Americans will bite off their noses to spite their faces if it means that black Americans will suffer or not benefit. Our society is 100 percent based on race and keeping other races down that we will hurt ourselves if we have to. Our gun violence/gun culture is also the result of our racism. Health care, education, housing - all facets of society are based on racism. America was founded on genocide, slavery and racism. White Americans are afraid that if blacks and other minorities get in power they will do the same things to them that they did to us. So they deny everyone social benefits just to make sure that black Americans and other minorities don’t get an advantage. It’s a pathetic way to run a country.

Youre stereotype American is based on what gets put on television. Do you ever see the typical Californian with three jobs because things cost so much? The toothless idiot who wants Smith and Wesson to run things is funny for tv, but theres 300 million of us, we basically all go to work and dont grouse too much.
And when European countries actually need protection straight to the USA they go!
It’s not that we don’t have to pay to go to the doctor, to study, etc. We finance them through our income taxes. Which a large majority of Americans refuse to do.
exactly! less military more human spending
the US collects more tax revenue than the EU does... so thats not the real problem. As hipposeeds pointed out... its about how they choose to spend it.
americans want a middle man, insurance companies, to take a massive amount of their money as profits before they spend it at the health provider, who also try to make huge profits :) This is on top of their normal tax which is very similar to other places with free health care.
They choose to put all that tax money into military so they can dominate the world, but those times are coming to an end
As a German I can tell you, that we basically live something your politicians would call communism.
Because they don't know the difference between "socialised health care" and "socialism." Even if you explain it, they can't grasp the concept.
As soon as you ask their politicians for anything free be it healthcare, education etc they'll scream *communism* while hissing like cats. And people will enthusiastically vote against that 😂😂

Europe=Germany for this guy 😂 Such accurate representation of Europe
Growing up we had neighbors who were from Germany. They always seemed ahead of us.
Europe is advancing in so many areas because they don’t have to worry themselves about losing everything if someone in the family gets terminally I’ll. They can concentrate. On the classes in college and not have to worry about spending 1/2 their life paying back student loans.
This helps the country as a whole! Big corporations in America don’t want smart people. They want cheap labor!!
only until they don't need cheap labor anymore. once industry 4.0 is in full swing the fight for distributing all that generated wealth with robots etc will get even uglier - and the corporations always win
That's why we talk about unconditional basic income just like the US once did when you had low employment during the depression.
Yes, but there is a cost behind all those "free things": taxes so high that you couldn't even imagine.
@@enricoccc true. My family endured them. Things like 50% tax on fuel. Higher taxes on imported items. Jeans made in the US wet 2 x what we pay. Cars more expensive etc.. they weren’t rich but when they got sick they had health care and home care if necessary and the spouse and family still had their houses and bank accounts untouched. People don’t realize what it does till it happens to them. There are trade offs.
@@enricocccif you sat down and worked out how much an average European pays in taxes, and compared it to what you pay, including of course, sales tax, state tax, income tax and healthcare coverage that is not refused, overpriced, requiring copays or having to be in network, or having any cap that means care stops being funded after a certain time or certain amount. All Europeans have the highest most comprehensive coverage as standard, you’ll find that you are paying more of your income than we are.
You’re also making the classic error of thinking that a 50%tax rate applies to the whole income. Everyone gets say £12K of their income tax free, then for the next say £12-50K of income everyone pays say 20% tax, and only on any money earned over that £50K is any higher rate of tax asked for. It’s nowhere near as expensive as you think. And we get FAR MORE in return for that money than you can imagine.

But that would require each individual American to care sufficiently about their neighbour to be prepared to contribute to their well-being and, thereby, the overall well-being of their nation.
(Generally speaking) Americans are 'me me me', and armed to the teeth to ensure no one else gets ANYTHING.
They're too myopic to see that their self-centred attitudes - both as individuals and as a nation - are the greatest threat to their own survival.

What's crazy is that, in the US, services are expensive AND taxes are still high.
Taxes in the US are usually lower than in the EU on paper, but what European citizens get out of their taxes is disproportionally more valuable than what Americans get.
It's a bit like being made to pay either $10 or $15 dollars for a meal, but the $10 one gives you a single hotdog with a few ounces of mustard, while the $15 one gives you a full rack of ribs slathered in BBQ sauce with a side of salad and a beer included.
At that point, one might realize that "paying less" isn't always better value for your money.
