Job well done ! I'm two years into my mountain cabin in the rocky mountains with off-grid solar as well. I'm 75 years old...It's nice to see young folks making a sustainable lifestyle using sweat equity, dedication and smart planning. Best of luck to you both!!
Man mountain land is expensive. Not to mention the super short growing season. The land over south by alamosa is $5000 for 4 acres. But no beauty of the mountains. I'm just tired if city living.
I know an older British man living in Nova Scotia who is building a house out of huge timbers and stones. I wish I could keep up to the amount of stamina and drive he has!
You are amazing Steven Richardson! I wish you all the best and hope you stay safe and happy! 🥰👍
Thank you for sharing this has been my dream for the last 20 years and I wonder if I'm getting to old. But 75! Go you.
I want to do solar but living in New york I'd need a big 11 kwh system to get enough power to supplement my power consumption. And those cost like 20 grand WITHOUT the batteries lol
We choose to live in the mountain, in Argentina 7 years ago, the life is really rough, but we didnt change it for anything. We love it and share in our channel too.
Best vibes to you both!!
I genuinely enjoyed every single second of this video. This is what I’m working towards right now. I’ve wanted to quit my dream of traveling and having my own land in the middle of nowhere because these last two years have been especially challenging…. Thank you for sharing your life online. It really inspires me to keep on going despite all the bumps in the road. Absolutely loved this!!!
As a 56 year old man who did some growing up in Massachusetts I am very inspired to see you two living life outside the norms of that way I grew up.
Such a surreal experience realising how much time has passed, it seems like yesterday that I saw you guys doubt about what land to get, drive the bus is, starting the deck etc. Love the progress
So glad you could carve out a nice section of the rainforest for yourselves.
That was one of the best narrative videos I have ever seen. Kaylee, you did an amazing job! Very cute outfit. Jordan did a great job behind the camera showing every detail. It's so nice that you can use the wood from your surroundings and at the end of the day, you all built everything with your own hands. What an accomplishment.
If you find more downed trees, use the wood to make a goat pile with steps. The reason why they climb on top of their roof is because they need to climb things. Just a thought.
I am deeply amazed! This is the exact dream I ever had in my life!!! You inspired me deeply! Sooner or later I will have my own farm using the elements as a source of energy! Sending you much love and adoration!!!
So brilliant to share and expand this homestead with a community. The desire to travel and responsibility of caring for the land and animals has been my concern too with living a sustainable lifestyle.
That's going to be one of the best parts when the others start building and living in their own homesteads!
Amazing couple with amazing drive. In my fall of life and at 74 have never forgotten Great advice from gramps. " its better to wear out than rust out ".
Standing there, with your skirt and boots, in the middle of the grass, surrounded by green grass and flowers and mountains, I was waiting for you to break into song, ''The hills are alive, with the sound of music...'' or maybe ''Edelweiss'' 😄
Ahhh um the Swiss Alps compared to the jungles of Panama, not seeing it. Not being critical, just night and day to me.
and that outfit prolly needs a wash
Haha
I miss your singing, for real!
Lovely dress..
I admire all of this so much... The courage, dedication, resillience, humility, and love it all takes. Also, i think this is alot of progress for only a year! I'm so happy to have seen this video, much love from Portugal!
So crazy. I started watching when you were still in Mexico. To see all of this is just so heartwarming. Thank you guys for sharing.
Thank you both for your video. You have restored hope in a 75 year old Aussie man that not all youth are lost to the $. Yes we need money, but we need the earth more.
its not the youths' fault that boomers in every industrial nation have put regulations that make living a natural life impossible.
Yeah everyone line up and get yourselves 3 acres per two people, we will end up needing land indeed
This is GENIUS! THIS is the kind of development that should be happening everywhere. Hats off to you folks!
Been watching your channel for 2 years. The two of you are AWESOME...
The word you are looking for is " tiresome" .... as in tedious.
what a beautiful episode. A terrific tour of your fabulous homestead and a great overview of all the love, sweat and tears, plus the laughter and communing with nature that has been so pivotal to lolas farm and your vlogs. Bless you all and cheers to a million and more happy days. Hugs from Australia
She’s so wiggly and cute, I smile the entire video!!! 🤗🤗🤗

For that rough road of yours, try getting hold of an old grader/tractor tyre. The bigger/heavier the better. Lay it flat, put one of your pieces of offcut square tubes on the inside with a strong U-Bolt through the tyre. You can even add a grate inside and add rocks/gravel inside for additional weight. Then, just drag it behind your truck using a strong chain when you go down to town and then back up again on your way home... In no time your road will be smooth and driveable as the rubber even rips out the small rocks sticking out the ground for a nice smooth finnish...
That probably would work better when the ground is wet.
What an amazing life you have being living! Having traveled around America in a converted bus, now building a homestead in Panama during a pandemic! And you achieved all these in such young age!
I can tell y'all really love each other and love what y'all are doing and how y'all are living which is fantastic and I just come across y'all's video as of father's day 2021 and I'm glad I did your videos are very interesting
Well done, Kaylee showing your audience around Lola’s Farm. What wonderful accomplishments this year, I can see your pride in not just the amount but the quality of what you and Jordan finished in 12 months. Bravo to your vision and perseverance and best of luck in the next instalment.
There were no tongue-twisters in your presentation!
What a difference one year (and a lot of work) makes! Congratulations and thanks for sharing it all with us!
someday i will have my own small farm.... thats the dream me and my wife have. we are still young and aren't afraid of doing alot of work itself but the cost over here is tremendous. buying 3 acres for example wouldn't even be possible here :( seeing this inspires me to keep fighting for our dream and one day we will get there!
Thank you all so much for bringing some joy into our days , you all bring such warmth and amazing hopeful vibes in this ever growing uncertain world , we always have a big smile at the end of each video, keep being excellent to each other :)
Wow! Time flies. I've been following you since the days of feeding the homeless. Your progress & the sustainability of Lola's Farm is just Amazing! Great job! I can't wait to see the continued evolution of the farm. You both have such a giving heart.
Hey,kiddos. Been with u all from the beginning. I still have your hand written notes. My life took a turn with covid. I got a RV and working as a traveling nurse and then....I got covid in February of this year and was DX with long haul covid the day I got fired from my job for being sick. I was able to relax and healing now. Great to have your update on this day Aug 14th. Everything looks so beautiful including you 2 with all your extended family and live stock.
Hug and congrats on your successful year.
Soul peace dear ones

A very well thought plan for your property. I'm glad that wasn't really an alien contact antenna. Congrats on putting it all together. I drove a 79 Mustang to all 49 continental states and all of Canada and part of Mexico in the 80s. My sticker/decal wall was a Coleman cooler. I still have it to this day.
Best boss I ever had use to say."I don't know why people go to other parts of the world when there is so much to see in the states" do you agree
@@joecrowe7062 I liked that I could spontaneously drive anywhere and see so much along the way vs dealing with airports.

I think we have just about every kind of Terrain there is.
Took a "Train" ride (didn't have to keep my eyes on the road) from Florida to California. What an experience, we have it all right here in USA.
If Crowe is your' real name I went to school with a Donald Crowe in Massachusetts 70 years ago. :O)
Wow. The last time I looked in on this channel, you were just starting on the metal structure for the workshop and the greenhouse. Just goes to show; if you blink you miss stuff. Just wow.
Looks like you guys got so much done in a year! You are inspiring us to get a lot done too!
I’m so intrigued on how successful the both have accomplished while the crazy pandemic happened. This is such an accomplishment I see and I’m sure there are many more. I’m excited for you all. This video brought tears for joy and happiness for you both. Congratulations!! My journey is through yours. Thank you 🙏
Well done you two, you've achieved an incredible amount in your first year. Love following your journey, thank you.
where did they get the money from?
That's a great bus, it has more room, and also a rock solid frame. The kitchen is at center.
That’s the cutest little wood stove I’ve ever seen!
That joke about the contacting the aliens.....for half a second I thought you were serious and I was like, WTF type of channel did I stumble upon. Classic!
Same, first video I've seen of theirs and I was like, omg they're hard wackos then she says "just kidding!" Then it was ok to laugh. 😂
@@xtramoist9999 she had me going for a second :-)
Aliens indeed, I’ve spoken to a number of Americans in the mountains and on the shores around Panama using HF ham radio there area couple of places there were a lot of US citizens retired too.
I almost clicked off. It was a good joke.
wow!!! I stumbled across your video by chance and I've learned so much, thank you! I've had similar ideas for a while including making communities around the world which eventually all network and rely on each other.. I'd be keen to know how this community would govern itself and I hope I get to visit your community someday soon! Thanks again for sharing this
You guys are great to watch......and easy on the eyes too. I have been watching for around 3 years now. When you guys first started traveling in the bus I really wondered how long you guys would last. Wow 3 years later and I am still watching every episode! Cheers.
My biggest dreams would become true, if I would be part of this community. You really spoke from my heart and you live the life I always desired. Congratulations! I am so happy for you, that you made it ❤️🍀
HEY! I remember you two from a video you made on a home maid air cooler just before you left the states. You were concerned about driving in south America but ready to make it happen. I admired your enthusiasm but had to say that I didn't think it was a good idea. I'm happy to say I was wrong. This homestead you're building is awesome. I'm impressed. With everything you two have been through, you really done a lot and that has to speak for the love you share. Totally awesome. 😀. Looks like I have some video watching to catch up on so take care you two.
So, you guys obviously don't know all of your viewers, but we all know you, and I just really want to say that I am so proud of you guys!!! You've put in so much FUN work to create your dream!! You are so passionate and courageous to be doing all of this and it inspires people by the THOUSANDS every time you post a video!! It's been so beautiful and amazing to follow your journey and I am so thankful and blessed to have influencers like yourselves to remind me that it's not only okay, but inspiring to follow your dreams and listen to your soul's guidance!! You are so loved and appreciated for all that you do!! Thank you so much for being who you are in this world ❤
P.S. Kaylee, you absolutely SLAYED that tour and I am LIVING for your aesthetic!!!! 😍😍😍😍 Along with great filming from Jordan!!!
You got some brown on your nose..
I am so proud of you guys. Everything looks awesome. Happy 1 year anniversary. You have accomplished so much! I knew you would though, you guys are determined. I loved watching you in the bus for so long and then moving on to this wonderful project. What an adventure!
This video has made me realize i am definitely not living my best life.
you can escape the system!!
This video made me realize that you should do this in your twenties and not sixty and up !

This was awesome to watch...well done, you worked so hard and must be courageous to take on this way of life.
You made me wish I was young again and could start all over. So impressed by you beautiful people, you took control and responsibility for your own lives. Oh we need a world full of you two 👍👍🥰
This is the life I've been dreaming of. You guys are living the dream.
Same here but i have 10 acres I’m not efficient enough to make 3 acres work for me

Dude, you're living large with this lady, such a vibrant spirit, wish you both the very best.
Amazing what you've gotten done in one year. In some ways it feels like 3 years yet it seems just yesterday you were looking at land.
Hello Beth
I love that you love each other enough to do this journey together. I wish you all the happiness in your beautiful life together! Just awesome..❤
How lucky you are, man, to have such a wife, she is dearer than many treasures. Appreciate her. God Bless you.
Congratulations! I am a huge fan from the beginning. With all that is going on in the world, it is such a joy and pleasure to experience your heart, spirit and hard work each week. Thank You...
I was impressed with the project, especially when she said our "120 volt system" (everyone says 110 volt)....this girl knows her stuff.
Her boyfriend does. He built all that, and let her know.
Glad I found this. I just acquired 6 acres of land and I've been looking around for some ideas to build my own farm.
You guys, all of you have done a phenomenal job !!! I can't wait to see you working on your forever home !! May you be safe and always content 🙏 🥰🥰🥰😘
LOL I love it. "We got goats mostly for cutting our grass" hehe :) You guys are living the life, awesome!
It is s amazing when I see everything you and Jordan have done to yet, love watching everything you all have done so far, amazing you people you all are thanks 👍❤
I just discovered your channel and subscribed- with all the back to the land channels on You Tube, you guys are the real thing! I'm retiring in 3 years and hope to build an off grid house, chicken coop, and greenhouse myself. I think the photovolics will be the hardest part for me; but your channel will definitely help. I'm thinking Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri. Hope there is still some affordable land left somewhere! Even though I won't be around to see it, I'd also like my land to become a community.
your place is beautiful and the rainbow, it's like the cherry on top.
Hello, I have been to Boquete 10 years ago, Many times to CR and like the town of David. Wonderful warm people, loved talking to the fishermen. Be careful in Panama, of course you know the stories. Help the locals when you can. Ross, NW Indiana.
You guys should be so proud you’ve done so much. Can’t wait to see it when it’s completely done. Absolutely breathtaking
Love the extensive use of apparently well designed steel fabrications, though no doubt expensive. I suspect it is very important in an environment where wood is a meal for the native insects.
You guys are leading an amazing life and purpose. Thanks for sharing your story, which is really inspiring. This is the way to be and many are returning to the land and building their own tribe along the way! You are all amazing!
You guys have come such a long way! Lola's Farm is looking awesome!! It's truly amazing what can be accomplished .... even during the most difficult of times! Looking forward to all of the videos that will come during the next phase of your homestead build in beautiful Boquete! This way of life should blossom all over the plane with small communities coming together and being self reliant! What a beautiful way of life! Happy New Year to you!

@@alysiamiller1629 totally not a coincidence that we are all in this comment section right now from pinellas county haha, girl we should team up and make this happen, ive been searching for conscious creators to build off grid community with, and i whole heartedly believe it was divine intervention that we are literally here within 12 hours of each other :)

I Love you, Kaylee. And I’m lovin’ this vlog and I just got into it...”alien communication device”. LOL...and out loud laughter is not necessarily my type of laughter. Keep on keeping on...we’re loving The Nomadic Movement.
I could live off grid happily as long as i have highspeed unlimited inernet
Kind of defeats the actual definition of "off grid" .. don't you think..lol
Anthony Lehner exactly 😏 it seems to be a “novelty” to some and a matter of life or death to many..
I agree. Give me high speed Internet with access to fresh water and some type of power and I’m good 🙂
🤣 I could totally live off the grid...as long as I am still 100% on the grid.
Starlink 👌
My dad used to live there. He loved it he said. He was so afraid there wouldn’t be a gator club. And found the most amazing people there where he could watch his gator games. I just found your UA-cam channel. Love watching your videos.
It was only a year and you have accomplished sooo much! I'm so excited for Rodrigo that he gets his own A-frame! You all together are a role model for what is possible when people share the same dream and working and building it together! 🌹
starting to see a lot of rich young folks moving off the grid, with professional equipment and portraying that they have to move there out of necessity.
Or maybe they don't smoke a pack of cigs and drink a 30 pack everyday.
at least they're not sponging off the government ayyee?!?! the definition of unnecessary is blowing one's benefits on ciggies and booze ayye, good words though like "portraying" really switched on person
Do rich young foIk deserve to be happy?
They aren't hurting anyone and even with professional equipment, it isn't an easy task to take on, so I say good for them and support anyone who wants to make the most of their Life in such a positive manner

New viewer here. I really like what you’re doing. I would like to ask two questions: 1) what brand is the tiny wood stove, I haven’t been able to find one that small; 2) could we get more info on the wind turbine, that is another thing I haven’t been able to find good info on. Thank you so much for putting yourselves out there for us to enjoy.
This is beautiful. You made me feel to come to back to Panama just to see your homestead. I want to live there.
It's been awesome to see you guys grow in so many ways over this past year. Your projects and videos have helped me stay sane in an insane world. Congrats on the first 100 videos and I can't wait for the next 100! 😄🙌😀😍😊

You two have the right idea, down to the concerns of not being tied down, or a hostage to your home. I stumbled upon your video. Thank you so much for making it. Ive got this huge smile on my face now. Love seeing others dreams become reality!! Its the good stuff!!!
Get after it you guys! Woot! Woot!
I am, dreaming of living off the grid, you guys are giving great insight. Living with nature is heaven living in the city is a trap.
Maybe it just me, It's kinda of going backwards. Human passed on information, so we can evolve a better life. Not productive at all.
Lucky you have a lot of budget in starting your dream farm💚💚
The first project on the land was actually the first water catchment system that flew like a kite with the high winds. The progress has been awesome to see.
Party pooper. Smile. Learning experience!
I would make a large sealed “pond” at the top of the hill and run a pipe all the way down with a hydro electric generator if it rains that much and you can make the pond big enough u might be able to make electricity 24/7 or you could basically use the pond as a massive battery and only open the valve when u need power
Or 2 ponds to pump it back up with unused solar/wind Power.
It's so green and lush there. Its not what I had imagined close to the equator would look like. Looks like rural Ireland.
Great job of the retrospective! So glad I have been along for the ride. You guys have been instrumental in our decision to move to the highlands of Panama as soon as we can arrange it. 💕❤️💕
awe, was actually really interested in how you guys do the compost toilet.
;I
Awesome!!
What an amazing undertaking. Well done - wish you all the best!
What I would really love is it channels like this would give some indication for the kind of financial commitment these types of things are. Moving off the grid like this sounds absolutely amazing but what kind of a nest egg/monthly income to you need to make it work, I.E. Survival of day to day plus construction and mantience.
It is indeed very rare to see people giving full disclosure how they can afford this, although it is an integral part of the story
Dude - they're making money off of 1.7M views on UA-cam
@@jefffaulkner8793 good point
once ur set id imagine maintenance costs are very low

The progress y'all made in the last six months is amazing! Inspiring make me feel lazy lol Thanks for the overview of your power system you have a fine set up. People look at amp hours but convert it to kwh and you can literary calculate your power consumption. Been trying semi off grid for over a decade and I am still learning. My advice to everyone is plan you power for your worst days more panels often are required it helps series wiring them at 48 volts into the mppt controller. It maximizes low light efficiency sometimes 20% - 30% lets face it much money in the batteries. Most people want to add to the battery bank but a small bank charged to 100% on bad days is better than a large on only getting 50% on decent days. This alone will double the life of high priced batteries but on good days it extreme free power!! Also a propane RV water heater saved me tons of power consumption for the bad days.
Sorry I used to install back up systems and kinda nerding out on your set up....
An air-source heat pump in that climate would be fantastically efficient for heating both domestic water and any interior heating for those cold nights. Dollar-wise vastly more efficient than propane or any other fuel source. The possible fly in that formula-ointment might arise from fact that generating/storing electricity at the site is also expensive.
You both are so lucky, this happened for a reason before Covid, you were blessed ✨ hope you stay hopeful and strong together 💚 beautiful abundance
