As an avid pink Floyd fan who was raised on the animals album, I just have to thank you Les- because This cover/set has gotten me through countless 3rd shift nights, and even more emo/drunk or just downright depressed nights. Thank you for giving me the power to stay strong and true to myself, that I needed so many times when pink Floyd just couldn't quite cut it and dish out the proper bass synthbonk primus vibe live I need in order to keep my tits up! Rock on brother 🤣
I'm not sure how you feel about the band rush, I dont like em really, but I love primus and anything les does is genius. So this year primus is on tour doin a double set, covering Rush's first album then doing an entire primus set. Just a heads up
@@michaelriley8002 Funny how Primus was a 3 piece act as is almost all of his projects and 2 of his biggest influences were Rush (Geddy Lee bassist) & The Police (Sting) who both were also 3 piece Rock acts

This was the last Pink Floyd album I discovered and one that I truly love. Primus was the first band I loved enough to buy their T-shirt. This works for me
Lol umaguma is the best, and as a person who has studied Les claypools style on the bass. It would have been the one I would be have expected. Awesome bass line that that could be manipulated. Would have been awesome to hear less, and david gilmore play off of each other. That would be epic!!!!!
Perfect band to cover Floyd. Les said in an interview a while back they were going to release a Sgt Peppers cover album... but the Flaming Lips already did it... so Primus did Chocolate Factory instead.
I can't believe that I just now seen this 6 years later!!!!! My 2 favorite bands and favorite album!!!! I don't what to think....just shutting up and listening!!!!

Never listened to the OG album but this caught my attention and I listened to the whole thing. There's a raggae cover album of the dark side of the moon album that's pretty fire too.
I saw les and the frogs in the early 2000’s in philly .they came out and played the first side of sgt pepper then went into Pink Floyd wish you were here album..I think they played all the shine on crazy diamonds..I’ve seen primus a ton of times Woodstock 94 was insane we were fans of them from sailing the seas of cheese release..I’ve never met him but from everything I see he is salt of the earth..
They are actually on a level of instrumental talent and skill of bands to make it big in the 70s, which is very, very rare after 85 or so. (Iron Maiden being one of the few of countless bands and musicians.)
im not sure why, but for some reason, i want to hear les or primus cover seventh son of a seventh son. i think it would be hilarious to hear les' voice repeating over and over... seventh son of a seventh son seventh son of a seventh soooon ; )
I like the whole Animals here, as I didn't like that album at all when it came out. I'm an old guy and Pink Floyd by then took 2 years b/t albums. We waited 2 years for this after WYWH?! Roger Waters album we thought. Memories . I'm really enjoying this Animals, so I'll continue to listen and see if this is any good after the first 41:25. Cheers !!!!
@@kutansam4172 I've experienced the same thing - new album comes out, and it sucks. So you put it on the shelf and come back to it a bit later and it's great. I had that happen several times, most notably with Anthrax's Persistence of Time, which became my favorite Anthrax album. I thought it happened again when Metallica came out with the black album. Turns out no matter how many times I listened to it I just couldn't like it. Quite the pity, as I was a huge fan of Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets.
You should let people know this is a different mixture of concerts and not the same one. On the side note Les does an amazing job no matter what but I don't think I ever want to hear him sing run like hell again.
