Consisting in 2 scenes with lots of action and suspence of this 2nd season 22nd episode; one scene at the beggining and another at the end of the episode, but both with the same music cues. It starts first with a somber, quiet tone, and at 0:59 a more action packed tune :)
As with other episodes, this one has a music track never before hearded outside it.

Every friday night was like having a completely unpredictable 1hr feature film waiting for you. Maybe in today's netflix, amazon, streaming world that is something everyone tells themselves is par for the course. But nothing like that simply existed in that day and age. Savagely ground breaking in every meaningful way.

@@pecm The same track appears in the ending of the season 1 episode 19 Home Invaders albeit in slightly different tone. I've noticed that the show has habit of reusing similar tracks but to different effect such as the piece of music used in Season 1 The Great McCarthy resided again in the Season 4 finale Mirror Image firstly when Tubbs arrives at a gallery and then when Crockett shoots Corrupt cop at the end. If you follow the show carefully you'll find certain tracks reused quite often but with different tempos to make them stand out.

Not even The Jan Hammer album _"Miami Vice - The complete Collection"_ has everything Jan did, not by a long shot. Wouldn't it be awsome if, say, a fan searched every episode for all the tracks, applied some DSP filter like karaoke to eliminate the voices so only the music remains? Well, guess what, *I FOUND IT!*
      check this guy's videos: ua-cam.com/users/Crockettt184videos?disable_polymer=1
Among several versions of some tracks (different tempo/beats, like you said), some 15% tracks from the other composers of later seasons, and granted, 3 or 4 repeated, you have *154* videos to listen to.
In case you wonder, in almost all of the tracks the sound quality is *awsome* -- check _"Little Miss Dangerous (extended)",_ for instance -- , with just a few tracks with less than stellar sound but still hearable.
I cannot recommend this high enough! Go and listen, make a playlist for yourself, upvote the songs, and give the guy some nice comments. If you want **all** of Miami Vice music tracks, this is it.

This episode showed how tv was changing. As a kid I remember a “warning” before an episode of “Kojak” in like 73 because of a scene of a hanging. Tons of nasty shit in this one. A very young John Leguizamo in this one and the conclusion of this story. Well, almost.

*To everyone that desires all Miami Vice music tracks, this is it:*
Not even The Jan Hammer album _"Miami Vice - The complete Collection"_ has everything Jan did, not by a long shot. Well, I just found a guy that did some sound processing to the audio of the TV shows with the voices almost eliminated and only the music remaining, with good sound quality in most cases, and stellar sound in some -- _"Little Miss Dangerous (extended)",_ for instance.
    Check this guy's videos: ua-cam.com/users/Crockettt184videos?disable_polymer=1

Hi. I just came across this video and I'm a huge jan hammer fan.
I was interested to read your comments along with others on UA-cam about a lot of unrealesed music from jan hanmer and miami vice.
Many years ago I acquired some "possible" unrealesed music from a good friend who used to work in the music industry. I say unrelesed because over the years i have struggled to find any other versions of this material on UA-cam and the internet.
I also have a CD from the 90s that i think came free with a copy of synthesizer magazine or similar that contains three tracks. One I recall was a version of whats known as 'joyride' that I don't think was released on the Miami vice complete complete collection.. (one album I don't own) I'm not sure if the other two tracks were used in the tv show, but sound very 'miami vice', and from memory were untitled demos.
I will try and dig them out at some stage and share on UA-cam.
Unfortunately I'm not very good with computers and have no idea how to post audio or video on here, so will try and figure that out.
      Thankyou.

I don't have a clue why Jan doesn't simply release everything. That album "the complete collection" was supposed to have everything... Is he trying to milk the cow a little more and release another titled as _"Now the _*_really_*_ complete collection"?_ Then why wait so long? The previous album was released at 2004 if I'm not mistaken, 15 years have passed!
As for your CD, are those tracks original versions from Jan, or are they just covers? There are a lot of musicians that cover his music.
To upload them to UA-cam you must convert them to digital audio first, any operating system has tools to do that by now, just choose a lossless encoder like FLAC or ape, since UA-cam will do a encoding by itself (no need for a copy of a copy with sound degradation).
If you don't have those encoders or UA-cam don't accept them, just choose mp3 or AAC encoding with the maximum quality. After that it's must a question of uploading to your UA-cam channel.
As for the "the complete collection" album, you can hear it fir free on UA-cam and Spotify.

    • @backinthehighlifeagain5468
      @backinthehighlifeagain5468 5 років тому +1

@@pecm hello again. To answer your question about the CD being covers or original jan hammer material, I'm pretty sure they were original.
From memory they were copyright 1980s so long before anyone would be covering his works.
I ripped them from the original CD maybe over 10 years ago and have them on a flash drive somewhere.
I've never bothered to purchase the 'complete collection' as i already have all the tracks from that album and probably a couple of dozen more that I've sourced over the years in mp3 format.
As for Jan not releasing "all" his tracks, its possible that 'Miami vice the Tv series has exclusive rights to some of the content as I understand a lot of his music was written specifically for certain episodes.
Meaning even though he wrote the tracks, he doesn't necessarily have free rein on what can be released.
I also have a number of unrealesed or demo tracks from other artists that I've sourced from friends in the music industry over the year's, that by rights I probably shouldn't have been privy to.
Just tracks I enjoy and listen to once in a while and keep to my self if you know what I mean.
From what I understand the copyright on material expires after 25 years.....but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong ?
So It will be interesting to see what the Future brings, as I'm sure there's a lot of his works that ended up on the cutting room floor.
EDIT; Thanks for the info on uploading on here.
Its something I've been wanting to do for a while, so will look into when I have some free time.
And just out of interest what part of the world are you in ?
      Thanks.

Jan not having the rights of some of his material as the reason for not releasing everything makes sense, but then why didn't the studio released something already? Then again, it wouldn't be the 1st time studios just sit on franchises and let them rot.
I don't know if the copyright limit is 25 years, because that would make the last Miami Vice episode (1990), or at least it's music, freely available since 3-4 years already.
It would be greatly appreciated if you posted those rare Miami Vice demos somewhere on the "interwebs" :D
      I'm from Portugal : ) And you?

@@pecm I'm currently back in New Zealand after working overseas for a number of years. Actually just got back from the States 6 weeks ago.
The reason I asked is its interesting to see what other countries get in the way of album releases.
I guess you guys in Portugal got the 'usual American release version ? Of the complete collection ?.
Here in NZ we got the American market version as well, the only difference being slightly different cover art.
I did find an interesting Japanese market version when I was in Nagoya many years ago, that had different cover art and two bonus tracks.
Well not really "bonus" tracks because all they had done was deleted two tracks and added another two not normally available on the standard realese. I think one of the bonus tracks was a slightly different version of the vice intro music.
      So nothing really that special.
I've heard that there was a European version with different tracks... possibly Germany, but I've never seen it.
I've never really understood why record companies do that for different markets.
And yes I will definitely upload what I have at some point. 👍
