Hello everyone! Thank you for all the love and support with this video for the past 10 years. Enjoy my latest re-edit of the video down in the link below! ua-cam.com/video/1aXqCTBn_yY/v-deo.html
I was there i lived it-all you young guys i feel you were so ripped by the bs of the last 3 decades, the 80s was a time of change and intense freedom to be yourself,we all had a job we all had money, we lived, played and loved....i feel blessed to have been a part of it.....
Brilliant having Crockett and Tubbs together..... Miami Vice would not have been so successful with out the two leading actors, Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas... 1980's was a really great time to witness the change in Police Drama and this was the start of something extremely special... Fantastic cast of actors and story lines, plus the music fitted spectacularly..... Michael Mann really knew his music and how to put things together to fit perfectly....
It's amazing how Miami Vice so perfectly captures the 1980s, particularly in its use of music. Michael Mann was so in tune with the atmosphere of that time; the glamour, the women, the cars, the unashamed materialism. His wonderful film 'Manhunter' has the same distinctive 80s feel. Obviously all films are of their time, but Michael Mann seemed to have a heightened awareness of the essence of the time.
If you’d ever met him you wouldn’t want be anywhere with him. He hated his fans. I met him when Miami Vice was filming. The only photographer he’d let take informal shots of him was my boss. I was eager to meet him, of course. I ended up making an enemy for life, I guess. I told him we, the fans, were the ones who paid him and he should treat his fans with, at the very least, courtesy.
@@rbivgq1734 I had sunglasses like his then my a-hole brother swapped them for some crappy sunglasses and said he always had them and that I must have imagined I had "his" sunglasses.
This is what happens when someone is put on a pedestal, the only direction they look at others is down!!! Shame really, although I think he's mellowed a lot now.
The 80s were definitely a decade we won't see again worse luck, the music , the tv series, the films , there were bad times I know but looking back now , I'd definitely go back in a heartbeat.
I can still remember watching this show after being introduced to it by a good friend of mine called Kevin (such an 80s name). Crocket and Tubbs were the coolest duo of the 80s. The look, sound, dialogue and subject matter summed up the 1980s perfectly. Miami Vice was a hugely successful and influential TV show that would go on to be mimicked by other TV shows as well as films. Don Johnson was cooler than ice, and Philip Michael Thomas was hotter than the Miami sun. The two men played Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, drug-enforcement officers in a bright and fashionable Miami. At the time Miami was a run-down town, plagued with drugs as well as other social and economic problems. It’s no secret that Miami Vice helped the area prosper to eventually become what it is today. The show was a watershed moment in TV much like how MTV changed music and music videos. Crocket and Tubbs took on hardened criminals and suffered for it. They showed the real side of policing, where the risk of being harmed or even killed was an occupational hazard. What really made the show for me, was their friendship. The loyalty and understanding they had for one another influenced me in a big way. When I think of great friendships, I think of Crocket and Tubbs, two men who couldn’t be more different, yet were prepared to die for each other. How many of us have a friendship like that? I can’t write about Miami Vice and not talk more about their pastel-shaded fashion, the stubble-faces, sock-free and carefree hairstyles. The look of Miami Vice is what made it stand out from other police shows. The pastel colours added warmth to their personalities and complemented the Miami sunshine. The colours popped out as did everything else in the show. The rough, unclean, dishevelled look was to Miami Vice what Clint Eastwood was to Fistful of Dollars. The grooming style reminded me of that 1960s Spaghetti Western look made popular by legendary as well as visionary film director Sergio Leone. I imagine Michael Man was influenced by Leone’s anti-hero characters. The Sonny Crocket look became very popular with guys. The light-coloured blazer, pastel T-shirt and shoes without socks became commonplace. I can still remember some of my older friends wearing this look. Oh, they didn’t wear sock because it was too hot! You’d need them in England! What a decade to have grown up in.
I was born in 94, but the 80's vibe, maaaan... I'm totally attracted to it... It is so hard to explain that feeling of loving something that you never lived.. And it feels like you belong and you listened to these songs, you danced to them and you were there... I'm not even american or brittish, where the 80's were just EPIC on arts, music, television and stuff.. That's the weirdest part, I feel very very connected to the language too lol (I'm brazilian)
As an Aussie I absolutely loved this show in the 80s it was the coolest show on tv and to this day is my favourite that has ever been, Don was the coolest cat out there and there has been no-one like him since. The 80s was the best and to this day I wish it still was but like all things life gos in one direction unfortunately and things change not always for the better.
my friend i agree with you 100 percent this came out when i was 14 miss the 80'S best show Miami Vice and best time's but as you mentioned life goes on in one direction and today it's a whole different world not good at all, maybe i should have followed my heart and left this town for a new address some place inside of the world other than here.
Me and the Boys..we were all born in 1972...and we all agreed to watch this from the beginning...That first episode was epic beyond words...you forget so much in life but your memories are still locked in your head...it just takes a happy trigger to release them....peace and love...
unrivaled TV series, sports cars, clothing by Italian designers, incomparable atmospheres and musical backgrounds, actors and scenes that run at their maximum ..... never will repeat something, '80 forever
Maybe the Eighties but people adding newer songs keeps the magic of the show alive wish someone would this with Hill Street Blues or Sledgehammer they were great shows too😊
I didn't realise it at the time but that's a Ferrari Testarossa Monospecchio. They only made around 1,500 or so of those cars over a period or something like three years.

Miami Vice and Manhunter were perfect!

The Testarossa and Daytona should have been listed as co-stars. 😍🚗
And dont forget Elvis! 🐊🐊🐊
@@michellevillegas2756 The last guy who forgot Elvis disappeared during the visit of the boat 😂
Every woman wanted to be with Don Johnson, and every man wanted to be him. That is how you create an Icon
