As sad as this is I'm very happy for Marko that he has decided to take care of his health. He has been with this band for many years and brought us so much happiness. My Dad just texted me a link saying that Marko had left the band and at first I just couldn't believe or accept it, I thought surely it must be a joke but it is unfortunately not April 1st. Thank you for everything you have done to make Nightwish one of, if not the greatest band on the planet Marko! Unlike Floor I find it highly unlikely a perfect replacement will drop in our lap.
Absolutely one of my darkest day ever but I do understand what he means. I have been railing against the totally corrupt North American Music business. They are exactly the reason we haven't seen Nightwish in any large North American venue and probably never will. Marko I am so sorry to see you go. We will always have a huge hole in our heart.

I understand what he says, and why, still it is like we really lost somebody.... But it is his decision, his life, his emotions, his health, hoping he will make the right decisions, and feel better soon.
The music & my relation to it. For many years ago I got interested in Hi -fi. The better the audio became the more annoyed I became. The editing was in some recordings so bad that it was almost unbearable to listen to. I decide to figure out where I could put my money and what I else could do to put some pressure on the music industry. My focus became the recording quality or the lack of it. So i bought only records from companies that had sound quality as their focus. Though my hearing has become bad I still buy records and I still try to support good companies that are trying to make a difference. I have then also discovered that some bands have other ways of earning money(patreon, merchendies & used equiment). Today when I find someone I like I see if they have somthing that i can buy to support them. I understand Marco cos it's annoying that you see a craftmanship disapear cos the person can't afford doing what they want. Last year here in Denmark we had a conflict between Google & the copyright holders. What I can understand the artists still don't like the agreement that copyright holders(KODA ). When concerts is open again please see if the venue has it's own site for buying tickets, avoid buy tickets from compagnies like Livenation/ticketmaster.

We have streaming company big guns demanding 9/5 work from artists of inspiration while unfairly sharing the profits. Even among the artists. We’re the banana republic of the music industry. Biggest tour promoters squeeze percentages even from our own merchandise while paying dividends to Middle East. Apparently some theocracies can take the money from the music that would get you beheaded or jailed there without appearing as hypocrites. Just a couple of examples here. This past year forced me to stay home and think. And I found myself very disillusioned about these and a lot of things. I found out that I am in need of that validation. For me to write, sing and play, I need to find some new reasons and inspirations. ”My Walden” so to speak. And it’s even in my book that I’m a chronic depressive. It’s dangerous for me and the people around me, if I continue. Some of the thoughts a while back were dark. Don’t worry, I’m fine. I have my two sons, a wife, the rest of the family, friends, a dog and lots of love. And I don’t think that I’ll be gone for good. Conspiracy is the word of the day. For the people who like them I need to say that my 55th birthday is now on 14th of Jan and I’ve certainly done my time for now. Blaming for instance Tuomas is an insult to both him and my free thinking. This is a very sad thing to all of us too. Have a care please. But of course now we’ll know, if some go there on purpose. There are a couple of things agreed on that I will do on 2021. Otherwise I kindly and with respect ask the media, bands, artists projects etc. to not ask me for anything within the next year. This is so sad. He had been such a perfect adition to the band. It will be hard to replace him.

depression is harder to deal with when you have less people around you to help your mood. Hope he comes out of it sooner then later.
