    Epsom salt IS magnesium bath. They're both magnesium sulfate, and so all brands of epsom salt and/or "magnesium bath" are exactly the same chemically. The only difference is whatever perfume it has in it and the price. You can get Amazon Solimo brand epsom salt for about $1 lb, and they have both unscented and scented versions of it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnesium_sulfate

    Per my dermatologist I’ve recently switched from using a lot of Cerave products to La Roche-Posay and haven’t looked back. They’re pricier for a drugstore brand but wow my skin looks and feels so much better.

    • @MellieDarcy
      @MellieDarcy 4 роки тому +6

      Megan Burbage my skin is insanely dry and almost equally as sensitive. Cerave just didn’t offer enough hydration and my skin reacted really badly to their hydrating cleanser.
      The LRP double repair moisturizer along with the hydrating cleanser have really helped heal my skin. I had patches that were so dry that it had started to peel.

    • @MellieDarcy
      @MellieDarcy 4 роки тому +3

      Sonya Hubbard Cerave just couldn’t compete with my dry skin. I was actually starting to experience peeling in some arenas because of it. The Cerave hydrating cleanser also burned by face a bit when I tried it and I just assumed it was because of the insane dryness but my doctor said that Cerave is a great gentle cleanser for most people but people like me with stupidly sensitive/picky skin don’t always react well to it.

    I don't know if I recommended it yet, but I am (almost) 48 and have extremely dry facial skin (no flaking). Since the age of 3 I have been using the Nivea blue tin (the one from Germany, Beiersdorf), morning & night. These days I layer my serums underneath it, and it is just amazing for dry skin. Yes it has fragrance, but the mineral oil in it is the best at keeping the moisture *in* my skin. You don't need much, just a little dab on each cheek, your forehead and chin, and then just rub it in. It is amazing. I have no permanent wrinkles anywhere yet. I also use this all over my eye area (no crow's feet). It has been wonderful and I hope they never ever quit making it, or change the formula. Our internist told my mother early on (age 3) that she needed to keep my dry skin moisturized. Yes, I have been using this "thing" for 45 years! No joke. :D It works for me. I mostly use it as a sealant. Age 3 my mom used sweet almond oil underneath it. I also love the body lotion (dark blue bottle). Nivea is like, white bottle: very lightweight. Pale blue bottle: stronger. Dark blue: dry skin. The body lotion is also amazing (and I use that too).

    Hey Taylor!! I just learned from dr dray that your skin doesnt get "used to" products or chemical exfoliants. I always believed this too . She said the only products that can lack efficacy over time are topical antibiotics because bacteria can develop super bugs on your skin. The reason we think our skin is used to products is because our skin's needs change. Love your channel!!

    We buy epsom salt at Costco and Sam’s. They have two 7 lb bags for under $10. They are plain sent but you can add essential oils if you want. Costco carries Dr. Teals and Sam’s it’s their members mark brand (online too). 🙌🏼

    Ooohhh, Taylor! Check Walmart for Village Naturals bath soak for Women. It's really a bath powder with Epsom salts and skin-conditioning ingredients and it has no discernible fragrance. I find all the Dr. Teal's products overpowering and they give me headaches. So I add a tiny amount of some foamy product with a gentle scent along with this powder for a soothing bath (when it is not 90 damn degrees out). 🌻💜

    For the dish washer pods, instead of putting them in the compartment, just try throwing one in the bottom of the dishwasher right when you start it.

    That eos shave creme changed my life lol. If you're a face shaver against your will because oops you shaved a few stray hairs as a teen you know where I'm coming from. The sensitive skin version is spectacular. Both grip your hairs really well, closest shave ever.

    Costco has the best dishwasher pods in their own brand, Target has their own brand epsom salt in coconut scent and it’s softer on the skin and the scent stays on your body as well.

    Those dish pods have a "film" on them and it says they're dissolvable, buy that's not the case. They are essentially just plastic and they can get stuck in your drain which can end up a being a real pain. But if you want to take the time to get that film off they're actually pretty great

    I bought the Finish powerball dishwasher pods on my last Walmart trip (also the bag that has the word Quantum on it) and they work great in my dishwasher. In fact after using it for the 1st time I grabbed a few of my dishes to feel just how clean they came out. I was really impressed that it cleaned my plastic bowl that I had used for baking (LOTS of grease in it prior to washing). I just did a load today. Just finished watching the video and went to check. There's nothing left behind on my dishes or in the tray the pod goes in. Hmmm?!? It's really weird how something works for some and not others... 🤷‍♀️

    Taylor!! Hope you see this. I agree with balms v. oils. I’ve extensively tried lots of both. I found a great Manuka Honey cleansing balm on Amazon for like $15, very hydrating. My skin loves honey in skincare, keeps it moisturized and calms any breakouts.

    I had the same issue with the dish pods but powered through and clogged my drain 🤦🏼‍♀️ but the plumbers said the packaging needs extra hot water to fully dissolve, which even on the hot setting isn’t typically hot enough (hence a clog) and they recommended the squeeze gel!

    I buy plain Epsom salt in a 1 kg jib at Walmart. It’s great as you get a lot, reasonably priced and it’s unscented. If I want a scent, I will add some Dr. Bronners lavender castile soap or some essential oil.

    Our technician said never to use pods, either for the dishwasher and washer, since they clog the pipes. We’ve used liquid soap and haven’t had any problems since then. I would recommend you try liquid dish soap

    I like to use baby oil that has aloe and vitamin e to shave my legs. It's inexpensive, moisturizes and soothes while saving me from ever getting shave burn and a bottle lasts forever. Speaking of coconut, I love using Not Your Mother's Beach Babe texturizing dry shampoo because of its toasted coconut scent and it gives my hair great body.

    Favorite body lotion, Lubriderm. Nice consistency (not runny, not gloppy), drugstore, has a pump, spreads easily so quick to apply, sinks in quickly, no fragrance. You like glowy? Try tossing in a few face glow drops and shake her up to emulsify. Can't hurt. I've tried many brands, but no matter how high-end, I always return to good ol' Lubriderm.

    With those dishwasher pods, I have noticed that I couldn’t at all touch them with wet or even slightly wet hands. Otherwise they don’t melt down and end up sticking. But other than that, I luv them! I always scrub my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.
