After watching your video, I knew I could probably handle the job of replacing the Goshen lift cable in my Dutchmen popup camper, but it seemed like a _lot_ of effort. Did some more research and discovered you can buy a new cable from Goshen for about $30 (+shipping) and you don't have to take the system completely apart like you did. You just have to remove the rear springs. All in all it took about an hour to get mine swapped out. But I never would have found all that out had it not been for your videos. Thank you!! I have a working camper again!
Thanks for the video! I just completed the cable replacement but I need the extention peice that goes from the winch to the crank arm. Do you know what this is called and where I might be able to get one?
If you are talking about the piece of square tubing on the winch that the crank handle goes into. I don’t know where you would find that. You might have to buy a new winch to get that part.
Just bought a dutchmen 1998 and ive got 3 side that lift even and the 4th doesnt lift at the same time what could it be. Im thinking maybe a push spring not working correctly
I have a 1996 Dutchmen pop up Camper is this the same lift system? The other day I open mine and suddenly collapse I think i will have to do the same thing with mine!!!
@@hillbillyrv If it wasn't 6 hours round trip! I took it to a guy here, but he said $2,400 to replace the four cables (since he said he might as well do them all). I didn't pay but $1,200 for the camper, and it only snapped because my mom didn't get the latch off. $2,400 was a little out of my budget for the process, considering. Watching your videos is helping though! Thanks!

What if it opens up, but not fully. Stops about a foot before fully opened
Probably something bent, broken or tangled up. Or somebody’s been messing with it and got it screwed up.
Just a future tip for others master tube and pulley don’t really need to be removed
Thanks

It can be many things. You will just have to start investigating.
@@hillbillyrv alright as im new to all of this it doesnt seem too hard you have a cable that pushes on spring which either brings it up or down

Roof
Take off all the rotten wood and go back with new wood. Hopefully you will be gentle taking it apart, so you can reuse the siding.
Is that a Goshen system,? Wiffle tree..
Yes it is.
Ok I've watched the Jayco and the Dutchmen. Now do a Coleman 😂 I have one you can practice on if you need content! 😜
Bring it to Beckley, WV and I'll be glad to work on it. Thanks for watching
