Exactly! People from this state understand. A ton of Alabama haters online are saying Alabama doesn't deserve to be ranked in the top 4 but they have no clue what the iron bowl is like in this state. When players and coaches come to either one of these schools, the first thing they're told is "you better beat Bama" or "you better beat Auburn". Also, Jordan-Hare is a notoriously difficult place to play no matter the opponent, much less their most hated rival. When I say hate, I mean "HATE"! That's why Bama has always had issues playing at Auburn. Even last night they had to have the left guard watch until Bryce Young was set then signal for the center to snap the ball. None of them could hear anything! Sadly, casual fans have been told by sports media that Ohio State vs Michigan is the biggest rivalry in college football but that's false. The Iron Bowl is equal to and maybe even more heated than that. We commonly have people who get into some kind of physical altercation during or after that game from opposing fans who are typically friends, neighbors and even family every other day! I know, it's sad but true! lol
What a lot of folks don't understand... when your children are born, they are born either Alabama or Auburn. It has been that way at least since I was born. My dad took me to my first Iron Bowl in 1972... Roll Tide!

They beat the crap out of each other. Texas vs Texas A&M, Clemson and South Carolina are told the same thing you mentioned about 0-11 and beating the other school. The biggest mistake Auburn did was getting out of bounds in regulation. The second biggest one was not going for 2 to win the game because their qb was hurt.

I'm an Alabama fan and I was so confident they were going to lose after the first quarter that I turned it off. Thankfully, I left it recording. When Bama makes the kinds of the mistakes they were making they rarely win the game. Sometimes they play a team that just beats them straight up, but most of the losses during Saban's tenure in Tuscaloosa have been because of self inflicted mistakes. Fwiw, I'm not knocking the teams who beat them because they still have to be good enough to capitalize on those mistakes. With that said, there's some truth in the statement, "the only team that can beat Alabama is Alabama".

Alabama fan here…that was one of the best games Iv ever witnessed…I give Auburn props they laid it all on the line and it made for a classic game that will be talked about for a long time…both teams represented their schools very well and showed everybody why this is the best rivalry in all of sports
This whole game is very reminiscent of the 1986 AFC Championship now that I think about it. The mood in the building and on the Auburn sideline after the 4th down stop and the punt to the 3 feels the exact same as it did in Cleveland 35 years ago when the kickoff was recovered at the 2. Seriously how did Auburn not win.
That's just where Auburn is right now, 25 point lead lose, 14 point lead lose, 10 point lead lose. They suddenly can't hold a lead. Sitting good at 6-2 and staring at the possibility of 6-7.
Because every year Alabama is basically a semi-pro team. Pretty sure a coupe Alabama teams from the last 5-6 years could beat the Detroit lions or Jacksonville jaguars of this year, hell lions and jags of most years haha.

Auburn crapped the bed big time with this loss. However, give credit where it’s due, Saban is a heck of a coach. Calmed his boys, got a quick game plan and executed perfectly.
It unbelievable how we look for the first 58 minutes of this game compare to the SEC championship. What a difference a week of preparation with the best coach of all-time could make.

If Auburn played every week with the intensity they bring in the Iron Bowl, they'd be in the playoff picture almost every year. Like Alabama. But instead they play most of the season with about 70% effort, losing several games they should win, then play Bama with 120% effort and think they've done something. Their emotion-based football is pure BS.
Everybody gets up for Alabama. It's not just Auburn!!! Literally every team play their hardest against Alabama because they're held to a higher standard. Auburn shouldn't fall in that category alone.

I think auburn rb was trying to get the first down… it was great tackle by the defender. But its common for athletes to want to make the hero plays or ice the game play… sometimes one have to look at the smaller plays or make the high iq plays

For Alabama to win that game when they dropped passes, dropped snaps, had almost as many penalty yards as Auburn had total yards. Many of you saying all Bigsby had to do was stay inbounds, all Alabama had to do was not do all the unforced stuff listed above they did the entire game. Second interception nullified by penalty (questionable at best), three third and 1’s that get stuffed. All I keep hearing about is Auburn defense, Alabama defense allowed 159 yards in a 4 OT game. UA defense saved this game until the offense finally wore down Auburn in the 4th qtr and OT.

Defense was certainly lights out, the problem is that they just haven't been consistent. Miami, Ole Miss, Miss St, LSU, and Auburn all great defense performances. Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Florida all terrible. No idea which one is going to show up against Georgia. I can make a similar list about the offense.

I'm an Alabama fan and I was so confident they were going to lose after the first quarter that I turned it off. Thankfully, I left it recording.
When Bama makes the kinds of the mistakes they were making they rarely win the game. Sometimes they play a team that just beats them straight up, but most of the losses during Saban's tenure in Tuscaloosa have been because of self inflicted mistakes. Fwiw, I'm not knocking the teams who beat them because they still have to be good enough to capitalize on those mistakes. With that said, there's some truth in the statement, "the only team that can beat Alabama is Alabama".

It amazing how we look like shit for the first 58 minutes and then for the next two minutes plus the SEC championship game look like world beaters.

Well that was the game right there. Without that 40 seconds Alabama would've had to chuck it and in all likelihood would've lost.

Look back. Everything that Will has missed this year was due to a mishandled snap. Either the snap was poor or the holder had an issue. Will has been a great asset for us.

The Iron Bowl is always so intense auburn can have like 10 losses and still make it a competitive game
For Alabama to win that game when they dropped passes, dropped snaps, had almost as many penalty yards as Auburn had total yards. Many of you saying all Bigsby had to do was stay inbounds, all Alabama had to do was not do all the unforced stuff listed above they did the entire game. Second interception nullified by penalty (questionable at best), three third and 1’s that get stuffed. All I keep hearing about is Auburn defense, Alabama defense allowed 159 yards in a 4 OT game. UA defense saved this game until the offense finally wore down Auburn in the 4th qtr and OT.
By far the best defensive game all year kool aid and dallas turner need to start from here on out dallas turner is just like will anderson fast off the edge they will need that to beat georgia. And kool aid idk y they haven't started him all year he's a beast of a corner all game was tight coverage from him.
Did Auburn get called for any defensive penalties? If not that's amazing. Some might even say impossible.
Defense was certainly lights out, the problem is that they just haven't been consistent. Miami, Ole Miss, Miss St, LSU, and Auburn all great defense performances. Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Florida all terrible. No idea which one is going to show up against Georgia.
I can make a similar list about the offense.
